View Full Version : [Octopus] Sending one click only to background window?

Hello guys,

I have always been fascinated by using bots, scripts, macros on games because it can improve the gameplay immensely by getting rid of necessary pointless repetitive tasks, generate an addictive feeling of power and sometimes provide more fun than the gameplay itself because of the complex time-consuming but rewarding tweaking process.

It is now a criterium that I need to tick when I experiment a new mmo, also I never try to ruin the experience for others players, I just complete things faster and impress girls in open pvp area. But yea it's my first post so I want to say thanks to this community and the forum's owner for making all that precious information available :).

So, yea this is probably the newbiest question asked here and this is probably the reason why I couldn't find an answer, it has to be obvious. I run 2 instances of the same game on my cpu (1st on regular OS, 2nd on VM). I downloaded octopus today to give it a try, I can achieve almost everything I want except this one always needed feature:

I would like to get a left-click sent to my client's window by hitting a key (preferably a bound right-click) so this has absolutely no effect on my main window.

As it is vital to me to be able to do this, any mean would be great (like having to bind a click on server OS / client OS, or using a modifier key), there is something I miss, I know it.

Maybe it has something to do with the server click list option I have no idea what this is about (also a blacklist like keys?) I tried to use mapping like this : Input : Btn2 Output : Btn1 (program wouldn't accept that value)

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks, Ben.

What game are you trying to play? You should know that this community is pretty anti-botting and we don't consider what we do to be that.

*raise eyebrows, completely baffled*

Note to myself : Next time I register on a forum, no presentation + maximizing effectiveness by spamming questions.

The game doesn't need to be mentioned as it wouldn't help potential answers. It is a technical question related to softwares and practices promoted in this forum so this paternalism tone of yours can be kept to a minimal level. Also I couldn't believe that you know every entertainment software that exists (and their end-user license agreement).
Thank you for the free bump but I prefer to keep my threads clean if you don't mind. Also I particularly despise post farmers.

Any idea? Cheers guys

Attacking other posters is not allowed on these forums. You are the one who mentioned "using bots, scripts, macros on games ... getting rid of necessary pointless repetitive tasks" which sounds to me a whole lot like botting and not multiboxing, yet I left the thread open anyway.

There are no post farmers on this site, so there is no need for you to attempt to flame someone because they didn't give you the answer you want. Luxlunae would be a pretty sucktastick post farmer if they've been here since 2008 and only have 700 posts.

The game is relevant as games do work differently and that is not wholly dependent on the software. No one knows the rules of every game, however we have been doing this for a long time in many games and it's not hard for someone to look up the ToU on a game if in doubt. For example games like WoW allow you to bind mouse actions to buttons. Games like LotRO do not.

Right, thank you for your answer and for having let the thread open, I apologize for my behaviour if you are willing to accept it. I must admit I was quite surprised to receive such a " dissuasive " answer on a forum that promotes this type of software.

So yea I am a new lotro player, basically what appealed to me was the fact that multiboxing is legal there. I don't want to get into complex stuff so at this moment I just have 2 instances of the game which I can look at simultaneously on 2 screens (2 laptops). I can do pretty much everything I need except this point I mentioned before. I'm looking for a way to send a left click on the client window without triggering a left click on the server window (my first post explains it more precisely).

Again I would be grateful if you could accept my apologies, I didn't mean to offense anyone. Also I'm sorry for my random english, I am not native.

Cheers guys :)

ISBoxer or HotKeyNet could do what you're asking. I can't comment on any other multiboxing softwares.
