EQ1 - Want to start playing on Live (been playing on Progression)

Hi all,

I just created a team of 6 characters to play on Vox - SK, Cleric, Bard, Shaman, Mage, Wizzy

I had a few questions.

1. I realize that the Merc Tank will outtank my SK for some time. At what point would my SK pass the merc tank?

2. Is it worth it to go only 3 boxes + mercs? I don't want to be limited by any content in the end game (obviously raiding end game is out of the question), but I've read that mercs aren't allowed in raid zones.

3. Is there any benefit to going 6 boxes over 3+3? I plan to create an elaborate hot button setup and I play on dual screens to maximize my view of all 6.

4. Am I crazy at this point to do this? I have 3 gold and 3 silver accounts (I have been 3 boxing on Prog.).

I use to play on Vox but I /testcopy to Test Server and never looked back. It's nice having Gold Membership and more plat than I need on all my guys and not having to pay for it :)

I play 4+2 - Ench, Mage, Bard, Wiz with merc tank and merc cleric on Test Server. I added the Bard for utility (buffs, snares, debuffs, crowd control).

1. I don't play an SK but my understanding is it will be as good as J5 tank around 75 to 80.

2. No mercs in raids.

3. 3+3 is fine, 6 will get you 12 (6+6) if you want to 2 group world bosses or PvP.
6 box gives you more control over your team.

4. We Multibox, gotta be a little crazy :)

How is test? I've always been curious about it. It's there an economy? Do people just create their own gear? Is there more downtime?

I love Test so far. Test is a regular server, and downtime is same as the regular servers. Not much of an economy because you can copy over plat and items every 8 hours from other servers. But people still sell stuff in bazaar. BIG PLUS is all your guys are gold members for free :)

I copied over about 75k plat per guy very day for a few days just to cover the cost of mercs, spells, and items i buy out of the bazaar. I also copied over my 32 slot bags several times so now my guys have tons of storage. Alot of people copy over high end stuff to sell on the bazaar everyday. You can purchase the 4 hour group xp potion from SOE and copy it over every 8 hours to level your groups faster or sell group slots for the buff.

on a side note.... if you liked the progression server, there are a couple of progression guilds on Test recruiting regularly. I believe they are at level 60 and 70 progression content. They won't let you raid if you are over the level for the content :)
