Thanks for sharing! You run went quite a bit quicker than mine did around that level, but I was playing the standard tank, healer, 3xDPS. Amazing how much quicker using AOE attacks makes things (and how quickly your exp bar moves at level 19)!

Are you levelling with a chloro/necr/warlock build? Also the names are adorable.

I've forgotten, can you just run to the dungeon if you want to use your own loot settings?

There not mages, there cleric's.
cabalist (ranged aoe dps)
druild (pets tank/healer) though the healer pet only goes to level 24 need a lot of points to get it higher level.)
purifer This might change but hell extra ins heals not got into this at all.

(3 have duel spec setup to get into LFG)

if you use LFG then no you can not choice your looting (maybe if you go in portal your self u can?)

That's funny, I could have sworn those were mage spell icons, #3 especially looks like a shadow bolt type spell. Does rift overlap icons a lot?

While it may seem, logically, like having 5 DPS (or 4 DPS and a healer) increases your clear speed - it's actually much faster with a tank. A tank allows you to gather up multiple groups and AoE them all down.

Here's a video of my group. Similar to yours except that I used 4 Clerics and a Rogue tank. I'd overpull a ton, wait until my health got low and then use a cooldown (Rogues get a ton of cooldowns). Doing this, you can clear whole rooms in one pull quite easily.

PS,

I later discovered there's a much easier way to clear the last boss of Runic Descent. If you stand at the entrance and just move your alts behind the wall when she starts casting Wave, you take no damage at all. This was one of my first clears :P

The cleric tank would be able to do this as well, right?

Can you mentor down and still do random dungeons? If a rog is best tank, i have a 47 rog i could mentor down.

but i wonted to stay to the same class so i don't have to mass about picking gear/souls on all random chars. i did have 4 healers the pets work very well and there all got a healing soul.

I prefer Rogues because they're more mobile and have more cooldowns, but that's just a matter of preference. Cleric tanks are fine.

You can mentor down with higher level toons, but it's buggy (or was). Sometimes it wouldn't let me queue. If all your guys are the same level and you're grinding random dungeons, I would often mentor them all down to a set level so they would keep getting the same instance. For example, I found Fall of the Lantern Hook to be really obnoxious (that second boss is a pain in the arse!) Once I got all the gear I wanted from it and did all the quests, I mentored back down to 34 to grind Kings Breach - it's much easier and there are more mobs, so it's better XP per clear.

It's not difficult to manage extra archetypes with ISBoxers KeyMap system. It's nice being able to use more of the drops you get, too.

I started out with 5 Clerics. Over the time I played, I moved to 1 Rogue and 4 Clerics. Dropped a Cleric, added a Mage (Chloromancer). Tried 4 Rogues and Cleric tank (much better DPS), didn't much like the Cleric tank - tried Riftstalker and never went back. My final team was Rifstalker tank, 2 Rogue DPS (moved between MM/Ranger for single DPS and Sab/NS for AoE), 1 Chloromancer, 1 Sentinel. Tons of heals, much better DPS than Clerics and I could use most of the drops I got. Cleared all the 5man content, all the world raids/rift content up until Storm Legion. I cleared all the SL normal modes but then I quit before going into the heroics.

Chloromancers are amazing healers for boxing. They are super easy to macro, heal for a ton and add really solid DPS to your group. Plus I found their AoE healing absolutely essential in some of the T2/3 dungeons. The Cleric alone wouldn't have been able to keep up. If you're having trouble micromanaging an active healer, try adding a Chloro.

Hm . . . I've just noticed the game has gone F2P since I last played. I'm almost tempted to login and see what's happening.

What server are you guys on?

I am also on Faeblight, have two teams of level 50s. Once my WoW subs expire I am going to be playing more. My teams are all in my own guild Merchants of Venice.

Yeah, I wouldn't play Rift for the PvP. It's essentially Vanilla WoW - a massive PvP gear grind. Only the valor gear effects your characters a LOT more than resilience did in Vanilla WoW (since it works two ways - you need PvP power AND valor). So not only do you get one shot by players, you can't kill anything. A squishy Mage could literally sit still and let you nuke him for 30+ seconds and you wouldn't be able to kill them.

The only way I could see being effective is if you're willing to spend the time grinding queues solo on each of your characters until you get a decent set of gear. Otherwise, you'll never win games because you're taking up a third of the raid with 5 free kills. That kind of thing makes people hate multiboxers.
