Since Rift is going F2P am considering it now more then ever.
I was gonna run 3-5 Boxes but this soul system for someone new is... intimidating.
I was think a pure dps team or something but am not sure. I'm liking the Rangers but not sure if I should go Marksmen instead. I intended to do more PvP then PvE but will still intend to do raids with these characters.
Any Class Set up suggestions?
Also when I quick Wizard for Rift will it do like what WoW does and make the basic keys and Assist stuff like WoWs does? Also couldnt figure out if there's a Rift IsBoxer, Any help is welcomed.
Great thing about rift is everything but warriors can provide for a holy trinity if needed. 5 Clerics is a very easy team to get the hang of. 5 Rogues will definitely be of fun, especially leveling marks/ranger or ranger/marks. Both of these teams are well rounded for pvp as well as pve.
Really any setup works, i personally use 2 groups, i do have a 3rd. my first team is my mains: Warrior, 2 Rogues, Mage, Cleric (if i could change this is would be to swap a rogue for another mage Harbingers rock!). My second main team is a 5 Cleric group. I also have a 5 rogue team but there are only like level 20, and i do not play them much,
As for the quick wizard, i cant assist with that much due to the new isboxer release. I do know you do need to make some ingame macros to get FTL to work properly, and i believe due to api limitations in Rift ISboxer can not inject Macros like wow can, however this statement would need to be clarified.

That should help.
Also, here's a quick example of a DPS macro I use (this one is for my Pyromentalist):
#show Crystalline Missiles
assist <MainTankToonName>
petdefensive
cast Flame Bolt
cast Lightning Strike
cast Crystalline Missiles

Walkthrough did nothing for me. Half the things it wants me to do I can't cause the options arent there.

Which options aren't there?

I am also looking to start a 5 man thanks to Rift going F2P. I was thinking about doing Cleric Tank/4 Mages with healing/dps. Would the Mages be too squishy in PvE and PvP or with enough dps/healing would it not matter?
Thanks!
Without healing/dps it wouldnt matter the how squishy they can be. It also depends on how you play them. 4 Harbingers and cleric up close would be something scarey to see. Especially if you spec them hybrid somewhat to dps with slight healing, survivability would go up. However PVP in Rift isnt the most amazing either, Gear within the pvp makes a huge difference vs pve geared pvpers. Its a grind to get to the gear, but when you have the gear its really nice.

One nice thing about Rift is that there are only four classes, but each of them have huge flexibility through a respec. From what I've found:
Clerics can play anything - ranged DPS, melee DPS, heals, tank, or support
Rogues can play ranged DPS, melee DPS, tank, or support
Warriors can play ranged (sort of) DPS, melee DPS, tank, or support
Mages can play ranged DPS, melee DPS, heals, or support
Still, I typically like to have as much flexibility possible and enjoy mixed groups, so I made my team consist of two clerics, two mages, and a rogue. I've only played with a cleric tank, cleric healer, and the others as ranged DPS so far, but I have tons of options in the future, like healing on a mage, having a melee DPS mage, tanking with the rogue, and having two ranged DPS clerics.
Looks like it will keep the game fresh for quite a while.
One other note for those starting up - I'm playing one of my mages as a Pyromancer and the other as a Gravelord with my rogue as a Huntsman. In the perhaps ten minutes I've spent on each toon's set up, the Pyromancer seems like the easiest class to macro for high DPS.
Just throwing that out there in the hopes that it might help someone new.
