hey guys. took a break. Back now with a new PC. Annoyed by not able to max diablo 3 x4 at max settings with an oced gtx 680 in this new pc with i7 3970x. Should I upgrade to gtx Titan or wait for gtx 780 ?

how is Titan for boxing? Any one has experience with it? Does it run hot with full load? I am a bit paranoid after frying my gtx 590

I have an i7 2600 with a GTX 680 4GB and had 5 open, but I doubt it was at max settings when I tested it. Is your 680 a 2GB or 4GB? Maybe thats a big difference.

Ya i had 2 gb version. It was a good card. By not maxing it, i mean out door areas in act 3 with a lot of mobs, fps dipped to like 40. You know how these things go. After spending so much on the build, i expect it to stay 59+ fps all the way. VRAM definitely is an issue when AA is on. But I think gpu might be just not fast enough for 4 diablo instances

Well played bit more d3 4 box. Definitely not happy with the performance after throwing down $2500 , so here is $500 more. I sneak out of work to grab a asus gtx Titan at a local frys. Lets see if Titan can max it. Going to try tonight.

After some more testings with GTX Titan , it cannot max 4 diablo 3 (texture, AA, physics, shadow) and stay above 59 FPS at all places (indoor obviously it can, outdoor stonecore, no it dips to 49) Its about 40-50% faster than GTX680 though. So that's nice. I will keep the card until we get the news for GTX 780. If GTX 780 comes out and it is 20% faster than GTX680, and it sells at $700, I will just keep Titan.

The GTX 780 won't be faster than the current GTX Titan because it's meant to replace the GTX 680. It's also rumored that the current GTX Titan will end up dropping to ~$800 and there will be a new, and better, GTX Titan Ultra (with a little less memory).

oh good to know that. I have until June 15th to return my GTX Titan also. Hopefully when they announce 780 on May 23rd,it will also announce the price cut for Titan. Then I will just return Titan.

GTX 780 released!, newegg has it in stock~~. ordered one. going to return Titan. Somehow 4 diablo only used 2GB of VRAM

diablo 3 with Innerspace + ISBOXER, SLI does work ?

Ok

I always thought SLI doesn't do much or near nothing when games running in window mode. With Innerspace, I think the game always run in window mode (correct me if I am wrong).

My 4 diablo instances are struggling a bit at 2560x1440 resolution with 1 GTX 780 ( staying around 40-55 fps). Out of curiosity, I thought I gave SLI another try.

To my surprise, with 2 cards, I gain 50%+ performance (framerate went from 40 to 60 stable). Did recent update with Innerspace and ISBOXER help D3 for SLI in this case. I noticed the game even thought it looks like full screen window mode. In the graphic settings, the game realizes it as "full screen mode", not as "full screen windowed mode". Does that have anything to do with it.

so SLI does work. Does boost performance for Diablo 3 with ISBOXER + INNERSPACE. and it is more than 50% comparing to 1 card.

This has been my experience as well as I have mentioned a few times over the last few months. SLI, like Crossfire, used to not do much in any display mode besides true Fullscreen. I don't know which driver changed how SLI works, but I'm going to take a guess and say when nVidia released the new 300 series drivers because there was a major overhaul.

What I've been telling people lately is that my experience with SLI has been positive, but that their mileage may vary depending on their hardware and the game they're playing. Normally, I would never straight up tell someone to buy two video cards for their system just so they can turn up their settings a little bit, because most people will be just fine (and happier financially) with just turning down their settings a little bit and only using one video card.

Good to know it seems to be working well with D3, though. ;)

Ya. I tried wow, doesn't do much there. It helps maybe 10%-15%. D3 is special

I get much more than a 15% boost in WoW with SLI (bottom of my post (http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/49525-Getting-back-into-WoW-Boxing-need-hardware-advice?p=380945&viewfull=1#post380945)), but that's exactly why I can't really recommend SLI as a solid upgrade path -- You get 15% and I get at least 30%, but the next guy might get an actual loss of FPS so... /shrug
