Quick question on a graphics card.

Hey all been a while,

Got a new comp and threw a 500w p-supply in it and now am looking to add a graphics card too. This computer would be my secondary computer running only 4-5 instances of wow so Im looking for a decent card that can handle that on low-medium settings. Im looking at the Gtx 660 (http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-660/specifications) but not sure if it may be overkill for what im looking at using it for. Heres that Gtx650 Ti Boost (http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-650ti-boost/specifications) that is about $30 cheaper. From the red side theres the 7790(http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/7000/7790/Pages/radeon-7790.aspx) and 7850(http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/7000/7850/Pages/radeon-7850.aspx).

I installed a 500w power supply so all these cards should be compatble. So which one would best best for the job and price?

7790 requires a > 500W PSU -- Can't use it.
7850 requires a the very minimum a 500W PSU -- I would personally never attempt to run a video card at the bare minimum requirement.
Both of those nVidia cards require a 450W PSU -- Again, cutting it close... but if you must use the 500W PSU then your only option seems to be either of the nVidia cards.

I don't really know. I don't own either one of those nVidia cards, but the GTX 660 looks to be the stronger choice of the two. Honestly, if you can deal with lower-ish video settings (possibly even use DX9) then you should be able to run 5 clients without issues on most mid-range to low-end video cards (assuming the CPU is up to the task and you've got enough free RAM).

Even if the GTX 660 isn't able to display the eye candy you want at the FPS you want, you can't upgrade because the next step up is a GTX 670 and that requires a 500W PSU at the very minimum. So, you're kinda stuck.

Assuming you don't want to run your main client all of your clients at Ultra with multisampling @ a solid 60 FPS, I'd say you should be okay. :)
