I used to box but have just come off of a break of a few years and am trying to get into the swing of things again with 5 boxing. I currently have 4 priests I have been boosting with my main, and they are level 52. I'm getting REALLY tired of instance boosting and was thinking about making a DK to tank for them in LFD just for some variety.
I suppose what I'm looking for is some basic macro ideas for a team of disc priests. I understand the atonement healing is off the charts, so I thought I might try 4 disc/1dk. I've also never played a DK. My only 90s are a shaman, druid, and prot pally. Does that team sound viable? Also, am I giving up too soon? I know the dungeons get easier starting with ramparts and boosting is quite a bit faster.

I know its boring, but honestly the time it took you to work out good macros and get a LFD team you could have already hit 80.
If you want fun then just casually quest while mining, skinning, herbing, etc. But if you just want to get there and be done, push through the boredom. Like ripping off a bandaide, or jumping in feet first, or whatever the saying is.

I ran a pally/4 discs up to around level 85 and atonement was OP. Rarely had to cast an actual heal. I hear it isn't as good at 90, though. I disabled all accounts except for my main so can't go into wow and get my macros but I do have a backup copy but not sure if it was the final one I used.
/castsequence reset=8/target [nochanneling] penance, Shadow Word: Pain, holy fire, renew, Power Word: Solace, smite, smite, smite
/cast [nochanneling] [target=targettarget] Power Word: Shield
/cast [nochanneling] Shadowfiend
/cast [nochanneling] !Shadow Word: Death

Thank you very much for the help with that macro, blast3r, and John, I know you're right. part of my despair with boosting was trying to get through Blackrock spire, which makes me want to off myself anyway.
On a related note, Do you guys think I would be better off as an end game team with:
Paladin(already have a 90)/4 disc
paladin/3disc/1 holy
paladin/3shadow/1holy
paladin/3shadow/1disc
What do you guys think might be the easiest to control for a new 5-er like myself? My only other full max level team was shamans, and those are nice and easy to play. I'm still trying to get used to tanking and healing as well as DPSing.

I'd do 2 shadow 2 disc, which you can switch to 3 shadow and 1 disc as your gear level rises. shadow does significantly more dps so I wouldn't do 4 disc, you'll be so bored you'll want to pull your hair out!
Time spent playing with macros is never time wasted, as you have to do that at 90 anyway, so you might as well get a feel for how you like the team at lower levels.
