The way I understand it, you need to use spells with cooldowns to make macros useful in RIFT. If it hits an instant spell with no cooldown it fires it over and over again. Is this right?
Put the instant spell in a separate step in an ISBoxer Mapped Key, possible with do not advance for xx seconds, where xx is the length of your GCD. Or put one instant spell per macro, after all your cooldowns.

I have never used macros with ISBoxer. Could I technically have a macros, or combination on one key, that would cast several instant spells?
Edit: I am thinking if I setup single macros for instant casts, I can assign each of them a keymap via Step and it would work with a single button.
You just put individual abilities or macros on action bars in the game. Then in ISBoxer you use Steps in a Mapped key to do each of those abilities/macros in order. Each Step contains a Keystroke Action to send the key combination matching the action bar button's key binding to the game. Depending on the speed at which you press keys, you may find it necessary to select "Do not advance for xx seconds" in some Steps.
MiRai's Mapped Key Video (see the guides or videos section on isboxer.com) has more detail about such multi-step Mapped Keys.

Does ISBoxer now pass macros to Rift? When I originally played I believe it only allowed me to trigger action bar keybound spells. Has this changed?

I added 4 more steps to my ISBoxer DPS key and am now able to use more spells without having to click so many different buttons. Seems to be working pretty good. Thanks for the advice!
what class you using again? for rogues i got like maybe 4 macros, + 1 channeled step. there are several utility spells as well but those are all on accessible keybinds.

1 Sanction Heretic/Vex
1 AoE Builder

As far as in game macros, yes to the original question. If a spell is not valid for any reason (i.e. out of range, or no poison to cleanse) it goes to the next on in the sequence until it finds a valid spell. It will stop the macro at the first valid cast command. Note, that abilities that are off the GCD can be cast in the same macro as the ones that are on the GCD. Example:
#show Melee_Spell
suppressmacrofailures
cast Non-GCD_Spell <- Always fires
cast Poison_Cleanse_Spell <-will only fire off if the target can be cleansed if not then it goes to the next one
cast Melee_Spell <- Only triggers if in melee range, so if there is no cleansing and you're not in melee range, it fires off the last one
cast Range_Spell <- Fires off if targeting a valid target in range

I personally found that I loved the rift style macros for pvp because I just had one "SOMETHINGS HITTING ME OH NO" spell. I'll let my game update and then grab my chloro self heal macro.
