Any type of treasure box quest item now takes 30-45 seconds to respawn. I'm starting to think they really hate us. One quest in MoP took my 10 man team 15 mins. Ugh so stupid.

The click object to use? Omg yes that is frustrating. But if you break group its still the 35sec, it really is broken I think.

Even regular looting takes longer. Not "that" much longer but still it feels like 3 seconds to loot instead of nearly instant. And when I am mass disenchanting stuff that takes forever as well.

Check the DE length of time with a castbar mod like quartz if you get the chance.

If Blizzard thinks they can kill off that which enables bots/macros/addons to do <things> too fast for their liking by making the looting process take longer on world objects without making too many people ragequit, wouldn't you think they'd do it? With WoW in decline, it's unsurprising they are attempting to staunch the bleeding by claiming to support the wishes of The Average Player. (Note I said "claiming," which I think is an important specifier.)

This quest chain http://www.wowhead.com/quest=30797 will take you an hour and a half. Just due to looting.

I couldn't imagine doing that quest x5 if the object respawn was 45-60 seconds. Having to kill all the mobs over and over waiting on each object ...... /jumps off bridge

I don't know of the quest in question off the top of my head, but since 5.2 there were numerous bug reports about quests having ridiculous drop rates (http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/8177537713) and loot lag (http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/8197582324). I have no idea if the hotfixes since then have addressed those issues and I'm too lazy to do any further research.

When you think Blizzard's out to get you, it's probably best to go look at the official forums to see if they're out to get everyone else as well.

They are trying to kill their own game for Titan! ;)

Nah, think this was to fix a leveling exploit. There's a cave in Kunlai that has a mob + chest in it, the chest is needed to be looted to complete the quest after killing the mob but if you go there without the quest you can just keep looting the chest for 25k+ xp per time and it was insta-respawn. Took about 10 hours to get from 86ish to 90 using it at that rate, this new spawn timer should take it to about the same time as leveling through quests.

There's probably a reason for each change they make.
The removal of 25k per opening of the chest, is a decent one.

But the side effect, especially on boxers, kind of sucks.
More collateral damage...

I wonder if that's really related. It would seem to be ridiculous at first glance that a competent dev team would break every other loot object in the game over one quest instead of just disabling that quest or hot-fixing it to temporarily grant no XP unless you were turning in the quest. A fairly trivial adjustment of two numbers in the game rather than reworking/breaking an entire mechanic. ;)

It depends on their code, I guess.
I remember EQ having to globally effect a whole category, to change one thing within it, because their code wasn't as well written as it could be... and it got modified/convoluted over time.

I'd imagine Blizzard's code is better written... with a larger team, and being a later released game, they have the ability to look at predecessors and avoid their mistakes.
So there is also a good chance, this is a bug.
Or maybe it was a fix for the said treasure chest, but the global action is the bug.

Next thing you know, they'll attempt to break some bots and stop MBing in BGs... er... oops :)
