ok, so i made a post in the mage forums a little while ago, but so far all i got was "lol dont u no AE grinding sucks, noob!" and flaming of that sort
the entire reason that i made a mage was because i was over my friend's house one day and i watched him on his 55-ish mage. he was soloing crazy amounts of enemies and it was really fxing cool to see all those numbers all over the screen as he made his attacks...
i have heard that stamina/intellect is the way to go when choosing gear.....
BUT, for the past 23 levels or so, all i have been doing is following my bro's pally in SM/RFK
i thought i was going to be doing this sort of thing for a long time so i figured i didn't need any gear because well, why would i need it?
here's a link to my character - http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Hakkar&n=Char%C3%ADzard
im planning on getting a few enchants/upgrades to my armor (probably stam/+hp enchants)
i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for me for my spec or armor(if they know of any good items i can get)
thanks

Is this solo AOE grinding, or are you like 5 boxing mages?

Yeah - same question.
If it's one Mage solo (why is this a dual-boxing question then rofl) then go cookie cutter Frost Mage build Blizzard/CoC the hell out of pack sof mobs.
If you have a gang of Mages I suggest Arcane build for mobile Arcane Explosion effectiveness. Nothing stands a chance against that kind of spammage.

Please do not bump threads here. There's a reason we have a "Find Unread Posts" search button. If nobody's replying, they haven't browsed lately or don't have anything to say.
On to the topic.
Solo = improved blizzard spec. Period.
Multiple mages = arcane/fire. Blast wave + improved arcane explosion = WIN.

With this spec, I blew away 4 alliance in about 8 seconds last night when they attempted to gang up on me. Blast wave is completely awesome, as is PoM/Pyro.

I agree with Ung, If you want solo then ICE ( all ice) is way to go. If want to 5 box then arch/fire is way to go. I run 3 mages and holy priest. along with paladin aoe. With 4 mages and 1 holy prest you will be a very good a0e grp. best lvling over time is a tank to round up mobs and 3 mages i priest to aoe them down.

A paly tank right ? Also if a paly then why a priest ? why not a paly and 4 mages ? Holy Nova ? If holy nova is the reason than 4 mages and a priest would be ok.. no need to round anything up with a tank. Just my thoughts.

when you want to really Aoe grind in ouland. The tank is needed to pull 35-50 mobs and wait long enough for them to be grped ( tight radius). then flame strike. then holy nova and arch blast until dead. this is how I do it in outland. for less numbers 4 mages and holy priest would work. I just like to have tank to make sure clothies do not get hit until necessary. Tank can be War wih improved thunder. Pal tank works best. area i farm can also have elites spwan so a tank is nice to have when that happens. Also you can farm ramparts underbog with this same grp if you have tank. tank is needed to hold agro to grp is set in the radius blast zone.

The pally tank is there because he can A) survive 10+ mobs beating on him while the mages get set up and B) with BoSanctuary and consecrate, your mages won't get hit at all, or maybe a couple of times towards the end when the mobs are about dead anyway. I would have done a priest but I have a 70 priest here already and wanted a real tank to do PVE later.
Which Outland spots work well for this? The couple I can think of have lots of casters so it wouldn't work very well.

Depends. I don't really "grind" per se but I've had good luck AoEing the naga out in Zangar, the ghost alliance in Hellfire, bugs and rays in Zangar, the vultures in Hellfire were superb. Lots of stuff, really. This is where mages are awesome because if you set up counterspell on a round-robin macro, you can silence the casters during a round-up and get a nice pack of both. You'll have to find the spots that work well for you and your style. Things change with different spells or macros or setups.
