Hey guys,
So I went and got 4 accounts when bliztard was on sale, So I was like why not buy another 4 and RAF them up. But I was like, hey why not try doing it with just LFD and Heirlooms other then boosting boring old boosting.
I am wondering who here else has done so and how long did it take, since I have nearly 2 and half months of RAF left why not get a ton to 80 and then wait.
Thanks

I have done both. Boosting is faster.. but I have got a few teams to 80 in 3-5 hours longer doing nothing but LFD. Its very fast.. every dungon has quests now..I enjoyed LFD way more. But if you are doing lots of groups.. any method will get boring. I boosted my last team all the way to 85.

I'd only do LFD if you have full heirlooms, else your gear is always obsolete. I found myself starting burning crusade dungeons and still had some rings and from places like deadmines. Lol

LFD with full heirlooms is a very fun way to do it, and the bonus xp for finishing it gets massive from all the xp multipliers

I have leveled many teams in just dungeons from level 15 to 90. It's a grind for sure without full heirlooms.
I am not sure about the loot issues, I always have characters loot upgrades for them. Some instances suck for loot, but I guess I always have crafted rings, necks and stuff for the team. Until cata you can do the instances practically nude with a single grind key with atonement except for the tank.

It's so hard for me to do the 85-90 grind. I have a ton of 85s and only 5 90s.

Hey guys, So been doing it for 6 hours now and I am level 37, its a lot of xp from the quests and LFD bonus at the end of each run. Atm I am doing only 1 instance I level to fast to do it again.
I am getting 3-4 levels a run about 25-30 mins with full heirlooms and guild bonus xp and RAF.. They all stack I have been told and it does look like they do.
And its very fun! I say I will be 70 in under 12 hours or so.

I find LFD the least boring method and helps you learn your team while leveling.
If you start a new guild and level it while questing your teams to 80, yes it will take much longer but you'll have a level 25 guild you can sell for 100k+ gold.
The only method I don't have the patience for is the grind boosting. I wish I could do it, alot of people level the 80-90 fairly quickly that way, I just cant sit for that long doing it.

LFD was more fun for me than boosting, I mean boosting was fun at first, but it got old very fast. I had more fun trying to find ways to make the boosting faster than actually doing the boosting... I remember a long time ago there was a boss named Zolo (I think that was his name) in sunken temple that would spawn skeletons that auto die after a 30 or so seconds, and as long as they were tapped, they gave normal amounts of exp. The boss would endlessly spawn them as long as he was alive, so all the booster had to do, was tag all of the skeletons, without dying, and without killing the boss. The shield spike worked wonders, as it would count as a tap, but do miniscule damage. This was back in BC days, and I used a special holy/prot build (back when it was possible to do so) to maximize self healing, as the sheer number of level 50 skeletons were enough to wear me down, and the HP numbers weren't as ridiculous as they are now... I was leveling warlocks, so I was able to hearth/summon them one at a time to train skills (remember when we had to do that?) and repair, as they would sometimes die if I had to bubble and they aggroed... Those were the days... Eventually it was nerfed so that the skeletons only gave 1-2 exp each, so while it still worked, it would have been incredibly slow...
LFD with RAF and full heirlooms was rediculous. I remember my first dungeon, I entered at 15, and finished at 21, with all the quest exp and LFD bonus exp, it was incredible. It really slowed down for me once I hit 71-72, but it was still decent. After 81 though, regular questing was faster, because there's only 2 dungeons that have quests, and RAF/Heirloom bonus exp doesn't work any more :(

Boosting - taking a high level toon and grouping it with low-level toons. Using the high level toon to kill, thus "boosting" the amount of xp a group can gain in a short amount of time as a high level toon can kill many more mobs a lot faster than a full group of same-level toons. People usually boost in dungeons as elites are higher XP, there's no competition and mobs are pretty close together for easy gathering, but there are some outdoor spots people use as well.
It's pretty boring work.

Also keep in mind that if you are doing a caster team, you should be able to get enough cloth doing dungeons at level to keep one toon's tailoring up (the tank works best because of northrend scavenging), and that will help you fill in spots where you don't have heirlooms and keep them at somewhat level. I know that both the outland crafted levelling gear and the low level northrend tailor gear is generally a really good replacement for whatever dreck you've been dragging along through dungeons. I wouldn't suggest trying to level JC, but you can generally pick up JC levelling rings pretty cheap on the AH.
