I had 16 accounts on WoW which used to be easier to maintain but then MoP came out making leveling to 90 insanely long and then they removed /follow from BGs (where I had my fun at) so thinking about boxing RIFT. I disabled 10 of my WoW accounts and am just pissed off at Blizzard for the most part. I probably spent close to $6,000 with Blizzard (fees and server/faction transfers, etc). So pissed off at Blizz I don't even want to play a single toon there. :(
I downloaded RIFT and finally figured out how to setup ISBoxer for it. Thanks Lax! I like PvP more than PvE but would like a team that can do both (if that is possible). I could always setup two teams, I suppose.
I am a bit overwhelmed at the number of race/class combinations. I would appreciate any advice.
The class make up and race make-up is definitely different these days.
Races are split up primarily for starting area and pvp reason. Please note that they have semi-removed the faction vs faction barrier, so you can group with opposite faction people, as well as raid, and joining guilds. However - i do not believe the questing has not been opened up - so faction would dictate quest lines for a majority.
Class make-up:
Our currently Go-to/Staple team is (imo): 5 x Clerics
The dps/survivability/ease-of-use with 5 x clerics is just outright insane - but keep in consideration, that our multibox core has been very thin this last year, so theory-crafting - testing other make-ups just has not been thoroughly done.
If i was to do another pvp-team, i would go 5 x rogue or even 5 x Harbingers (Melee Mage - Need expansion for this). 5 Rogues setup Marksman/Ranger or Ranger/Marksman is just simply OP for destroying people at range, very quickly and on the move.
for 5 x Cleric, i believe will still be viable for pvp, maybe especially in a shaman-melee build, but 5 x cabalist or 5 x inquisitor would also be decent, Cabalist skills are a little tricky and work in a manor where its power feeds off another ability/build up of power. Downside with inquisitors casting speed will be a downside, but the ability to DoT(Vex) and DD w/DoT(Sanction Heretic) are just OP together. Especially when you lead with SH first which does a large DD.
Any trinity setup with DPS will work perfectly fine for PvE and Events, but in terms of pvp, we lack a lot of public documented knowledge.
