hmm depending on how you setup the graphics on the alt windows, the game does take more ram then wow for sure. I can test 5 boxing on a my main rig tonight, to see how many i can get loaded. I have a very very slightly more powerful machine. i7-3770k, 32 gig ram, GTX 580 but i primarily use 5 machines.

There is a free version, Rift lite. You can just load up as many as you want and try it out.

Hmm so far it looks like rift takes about the same amount of ram < 1g but the CPU is grabbing 40% just with one box.

If you turn your graphics down to the lowest setting, you can box Rift with just as many boxes as you did WoW.
I 5-boxed WoW on a laptop, and now I do the same with Rift. I read somewhere that people were saying its a lot more graphics intense, and that if you could 5-Box WoW, you could dual box Rift. This is nonsense, do not listen to it. I 5-box Rift just fine on a laptop.

I got back on rift briefly before getting distracted by tera, I think tera's going to be my poison for the moment.
