Well after hearing what happened to the /follow command in wow I'm assuming that there will be a influx of new multiboxers making there way over to eve. I personally just started playing eve about 3 months ago now, and I originally had been boxing in wow.
Now onto what i really wanted to talk about. As someone who never played eve before I was a bit confused on what would be the best way to get into boxing, and i really struggled at first finding information, so I am going to help you guys out by listing out some advice if your just starting out.
1. Start multiple trial accounts, link them with referrals from the first one.
What I mean by this is start as many trial accounts as you think you want to box. In eve time is everything, as every skill takes a certain base amount of time to train, so even if your not sure if you want to play eve or not I recommend starting however many accounts you want to box on day one, and adding things to their training ques. This way if you do decide to stick with it you wont be behind in training. Make sure to not name them similar names, as this makes it incredibly confusing, and also makes you a bigger target for people looking to greif.
As for what I mean by linking with referrals, it is similar to the way wow's recruit a friend works, however when you subscribe a new account you get a plex, which you can either use to add more game time to your accounts, or sell them for in-game money. Also when you use a link to create an account from an existing account the trial accounts get additional days, so instead of a 14 day trial you get a 21 day trial.
(The only annoying part about trial accounts is only one copy can be running at a time, so you can actually multibox unless you subscribe)
2. Try to have an idea of what you want to do.
This is incredibly important, due to the fact everything in this game takes so long to train for. I personally went into mining, and nearly 3 months later, i still cant fly my mining ships perfectly. I recommend looking up skill builds for the types of ships you want to fly.
3. Wow pvp vs eve pvp.
In wow running multiple accounts allowed you to completely steam roll most people, however in eve it is a lot more difficult to accomplish, due to the way the game mechanics are set up. (correct me if I'm wrong though).
4. (Optional) Buy a good character off the character market.
In eve you can buy characters with in game money. This can be very good if you are just starting the game, however don't buy something without getting some advice on what the character is worth. For me personally i bought a character that would allow me to transport the ore i mine, and also give out boosts to my mining fleet, which is incredibly important if you decide to do mining.
