So I have been working my five enhancement shaman. What is the current standard for leveling? Quest grind? I was doing some AOE grinding near Zhu's Watch killing mobs in those black pits that respawn nearly instantly and yield about 6400 XPs per mob. I can normally be fighting 3-6 mobs of upwards of the 5-10 available with the quick respawn. Failing that I may need to run my butt to the Dread Waste's The Briny Muck for some AOE grinding out there.

The reason I like Zhu's Watch is mobs only have 180K health and drop quick. I do get on average a mote every 2-3 minutes and on average a green as often so it is worthwhile for gold/mats/Spirits. I have yet to lose a shaman from PVE damage and have manage to ROFL pwn a retadin that showed up. I think The Briny Muck's mobs are higher level which would yield more XPs. I know these humanoid mobs drop cloth, greens, some motes (possibly lower precentage) and may be tougher.

Anyone else have some good AOE leveling spots in Pandaria? I am trying to stick with five enhancement shammies so instancing is off my plate probably. Or do I really have to submit myself to the grind that is gathering quests in Pandaria?

AV wins are about 4%, otherwise grind it out. I just did 1-90 with 5 rogues, no RAF. It was brutal. You've got one week to get to 90 before IoC and AV CTA with patch 5.2 (you'll be able to grind out all your honor gear between those two, and bank some conquest). Hop to it!

You are at the best spot the briny muck mobs is slower.

Dang it. I guess I need to be queueing for AV and IOC while sitting there slaughtering the poor mobs. I generally try to break it up a bit by questing a little but after leveling 2 to 90 solo it makes me want to punch a puppy when I see collect 20 nick-nacks that have a 10% drop rate and you can't share the quest reward to the other eligible toons. But the clock is ticking if I want to be in the running next season so let me get to it... well at 4 AM for an hour before taking kid to school.

I always liked dread wastes from a boxing PoV, only felt like there were 4 major gathering quests.

Been doing some research so will give it a try in the Kasangr (SP) Wilds. If I can knock out questing here I may be able to make it to the wilds. I will stay queued for AV/IOC and will grind when ever I see a chance to.

I'm not sure if there are enough mobs for multi-boxing but the yetis on coffee bean mountain were insta spawn in the caves. Eating the coffee bean was like perma bloodlust/heroism buff with run speed and they stacked to 100. The game won't let you eat one if the buff is still active so putting /useKafa'kota Berry in your macro kept it up. The caves were littered with the berries. This is how I power leveled my Paladin and Shaman. Loot was meh.

I took time off for 4 days of this time >_>

Was nerfed, they give 6k exp per now opposed to 20k per person.

Kill monkeys before the first boss in stormstout brewery. Kill as many as you can in the boss room before they run away / despawn. Then reset the instance and do it again. And again, and again. I couldn't take it lol.

Maybe there is more to it though.

I have opted to quest + AV. With 5 enhancements most things are killed very quick. I had to solo box one toon to catch her up with the rest but now they seem to be pretty close to each other. Krasangr Wilds has alot of easy to do kill = loot quests where the mobs drop items for all the peeps on the quests. Much better than gather poo quests or what ever from other zones. But I am about to hit the wall there as I think I am running out of Qs, unless I haven't unlocked something.

Did monkey run before but it is so monotonous. Good XPs but totally not enjoyable. I think 5 shaman's could pull it off though with the AOE we have and the earth elementals.

I haven't enjoyed questing in forever so i just do what makes it take 1/2 the time.

LFD usage mechanics to gain infinite resets

Kill to first boss in SSB then leave INSTANCE group and requeue immediately. Runs take about 2-3 mins if you're fast and can net more than 5% exp per run.

As always, I have no idea how anyone is doing a SSB run in 2 - 3 minutes including the boss???? I do this boosting killing the first 5 elites, basically first two rooms, that alone takes about 3 - 4 minutes with a group of level 86 toons. BUT I have done this for a team all the way to 89 and Dread Waste quests to 90 due to it is constant XP and you can watch tv while doing it.
My only issue is the first 5 elites hit hard so you need a tank AND a healer to grind this out in a group.

Those first big tough monkeys---If you kill the little fire spirits it purges their buff and you can kill them in a few seconds.

This I believe halves the XP, with the buff 30k, without around 15k.

So sitting at 88+ on my five girls. Spent some time boxing AV and quest grinding. Got tired of enhancement so rolled back to elemental, wow the girls are tearing things up. During the day I would grab one roll resto off-spec and grind some EOTS and instances for quests. Don't think I will make 90 before tuesday but should ding out by this coming weekend after patch. My plan is to hit 89 and then head to Dread Wastes. Been doing quests up in Kunlai Summit near Zouchin Village. So heading off to Townlong Steppes for some 88 level quests for a day or so before I hit 89. Once I get that as I said off to Dread Wastes.

For gearing I need to look at getting some of the new PVP gear. Most of my girls are sitting at 4K honor for 3 pieces of the new stuff right off the bat. I was looking at doing the BOA Staffs from enscription as a quick step up for entry level PVP/Raid Finder weapons. With the four inscriptionist it should be easy to bang out the staffs. After that some boots from the Sha quests and then I will be rolling along grinding AV and IOC for some more gear. Anyone else have some "Elemental Shaman" gear up advice? Was thinking running some of the three mans might not be to bad with the scenarios.

I guess I need to start looking at what reps give what to focus on some dailies in between PVP.

Quick update... 89 on all 5 shaman. Townlong Steppes was a quick run along with 2-3 AVs (4-5% per level for a BG win). Once I had 3 at 89 I grabbed my two lowbies solo and would queue for EOTS/CTA and do 1-2 instances to catch up (takes about 1 hour) and that would garner me around 20% per instance with rested and the BGs pushed me over the top. Quick and painless leveling minus gathering quests... /shoot me.

Should be 90 before Thursday and will be sporting all the PVP gear before end of Sunday and ready to roll. Just trying to decide once I hot 90 do I roll back to enhancement x 4 + my geared holy pally or potentially roll HPally + 3 elemental + geared destro lock... some tough decisions now. All I do is PVP generally, not very good mind you so a good viable team comp is what I will be looking for soon. I know there is alot of hate for elemental right now due to the blanket CCs and silences.

I am still curious as to how this is done, can you explain how you can do this run so fast? All the way to the first boss and get close to 5% per run?

I have done this run without removing the buff from the first set of monkeys which nets 150k XP at level 86 (fully rested) but that only gives 1% of a level. If I go up to the first boss it feels a lot slower.

Also, I have macros for resetting the instance and also for disbanding the group to leave the dungeon, so this piece is very fast.

Help needed :)

my new team is sitting on 86 and its well just.....zzzzzzzz to level im grinding hard and the monkey runs just turn your brain to jelly.

im doing random between jade and brew, nuke first boss and keep resetting.

This makes it less repetitive...

anyone can suggest anything else then that would be nice.

So far, its just quests til bored, roll the monkeys and back to questing when bored with those...

once you hit the min level req for the new zone keep moving to the best rewarding zones.

Just when I think I'm out..... they draaaaag me back in!!

I haven't played 5.2 much, but in 5.1 Hunters were super simplistic to MB and got really good DPS... hope that's still the same... I got a 2 Monk - 3 Hunter group inc to 60.

It was nice to see that in the patch notes. Now all we need is for them to increase RaF to 85 and we'll be set. :)

That will happen sooner or later (as we get near the next expansion I guess), but the 80-85 grind ain't too bad. Currently levelling a mage solo on outland, and did 80 to 85 in 1 night. But it's the way rested time works that makes 85-90 so tedious (definitely if you are like me and levelled a plethora of toons through it). If you level a toon I assume most like to play it. Being out of rested time actually wants to make me stop playing for 10 days. I feel like the whole rested time concept is outdated and time to be replaced with baseline rested time, or maybe a heirloom that makes you have rested time all the time.

I don't think there has ever been a time when hunters weren't great to box.

hunters are fun and you can play them 'the lazy way' -> pet attack, autoshot, wait.

but max dps is kinda complicated because of the procs and all the CDs.

that's why I switched to warlocks (I love pet classes)
