View Full Version : [WoW] Jamba and Jafula
Hi all, I'm just getting started with multiboxing (two accounts for the time being) and am trying to read and absorb as much as I can as I go. Jamba's been great, but has a few quirks (what software doesn't?).. One that I've noticed is that the party loot setting doesn't seem to take effect most of the time. I have two teams that I've been playing with (a pair of mages and a pair of hunters) and on only one occasion that I can remember did the party loot option change from "group loot" to the desired free-for-all. The "let's get this party started" macro I use is /jamba-team invite /jamba-follow master slave In the Core: Team settings I have checked Automatically set the Loot Method to ... Free For All I did have the override to group loot with strangers checked but after unchecking it, it was still coming up Group Loot. Anyone else having this issue? On a related note, I've tried going to what is noted here and there as the official Jamba web site, wow.jafula.com, but there's nothing there but a completely empty page. I hope this doesn't mean that Jafula has moved on and Jamba isn't going to be supported any more.

I've never had that problem. Are you pushing your loot settings to the entire team when you change them?

Last time I updated Jamba, the version on Jafula's page wasn't the current version. Did you download Jamba from Curse? I believe Curse does have the current version which may fix some of your issues.
The Jamba I downloaded is from curse. I get nothing but a completely blank page when I try to browse Jafula's site's main URL, and 404 errors for anything else. I have definitely been pushing settings from the master to the slaves when I make changes. I think I had one exception there where I wanted the slaves to use different settings, but the party loot settings are the same across each account. The version reported by the main Jamba addon settings window is 5.1.1 (in the title)

The loot option is a pesky bug that Jafula has been working on for a while.
You should be able to correct it by changing the leader and changing it back.

Or you can try hitting the invite again, and it should set loot properly

Or you can add /ffa to your macro to manually change loot

As far as I know, Jafula is still active here. I usually see him pop in a few times a week.
Thanks for the reply. That jives with what I was seeing - I noticed a couple times when I hit the invite a second time that it changed looting (this was just yesterday, after I'd already posted, so... :-). Using /ffa makes a lot of sense.

Just a heads up, I'm still around and I always intend to make sure Jamba works after patches (little bugs here and there to fix). The wow.jafula.com website got defaced (it was running a really old copy of the joomla CMS, so I'm not surprised). I've been meaning to redo the site with much needed documentation updates, so this is the hurry up I need. It's down for the moment but I hope to have it up within a few weeks, ideally in time for the 5.2 patch.

Jamba keeps getting bigger and bigger, you might need to split up the project to make it easier on you. Maybe you work on the addon and let someone else take up documentation/website?

Khatovar has done a wonderful job of documenting Jamba already, but there are aspects like Jamba-Macro that I really like and want to document in much more depth. There are also other parts of the system that aren't well known. Also the default master swap setup that comes with ISBoxer can be made more efficient, we can remove the lag factor out from master changing with some more macros and I'd like to document that.
Plus hopefully as I document things, I'll fix a lot of little bugs along the way as well.

Hi Jafula - nice to hear from you! I can't believe how much I rely on the Jamba item bar and the bug is killing the new team :( any chance to look at it? HPVAC and I submitted a bug about it. Basically with my new team it just retains the items from the old team. When I try to put a new item on, everything looks fine from the master (the slaves never see the new item), but as soon as I switch out of the window and switch back the item is erased from the bar and the old item is back.
This may have been caused when I initially setup my new team by copying all the files from the old team.

Hmmm, I can't reproduce your problem.
But there is a new version up at curse - 5.1.2 with a new slash command for item use that clears the item bar on the current character. You will need to run this command on all the toons in your team (broadcast it).
/jamba-item-use clear
I would also do a /reload on all the toons as well after you have run the clear command.
Please, please let me know if that helps you or not.

Hi Jafula,
That did clear the item bar for everyone, but I cannot put items on the item bar. Here are a few examples:
I place an item on the item bar. It looks like the item is there on the master, but it does not show up on the slaves. If I switch to a different window and then switch back, the item is removed from the item bar (basically doesn't seem to be updating the file saying "this item is on the item bar").
I place an item on the item bar. If I use that item through the item bar, it works, but it immediately disappears afterwards. For example, if I put a shoulder piece on the item bar, it shows up in the master, does not show up with the slaves, will disappear if I right click on it (though it will equip the shoulder item), and will disappear if I switch to another window and then switch back.
Also, with the new version of Jamba I am getting OQ spam again :(

Sooooo... ignore almost everything I said, it's now working! I don't know what changed, as I haven't logged out/in or reloaded my UI, but with the newest Jamba patch and after using the clear all command, the item bar is back. Thanks, Jafula!
I'm still getting spammed by OQ message, though, and I believe an earlier version of Jamba had that issue resolved (I haven't been spammed by them in a long time). I wish Tiny would come up with a solution for OQ instead of relying on Jamba, but for now it would be nice not to get the spam.

Awesome, glad clearing the item bar (plus some other magic) got you up and running!
This OQ thing you are talking about. A quick google found this page;
http://solidice.com/oqueue/
that linked to this:
http://solidice.com/oqueue/jamba/Jamba-Talk/JambaTalk.lua
which appears to be my Jamba-Talk with a few things added to stop Battle Net messages being forwarded.
You should probably replace your existing JambaTalk.lua with this one.
I'm happy to add the changes made here to JambaTalk into Jamba proper, so I'll try and hunt down the author and see if that will be ok, so you won't have to manually update each time I make a change.

Ah, that makes perfect sense. I forgot that I had to modify the Jamba-Talk with that file... you're the man, again!
I'm not sure who wrote it, but lots of peeps on Mag that could ask Tiny.

Would this resolve the Jamba team chat spam if you don't use OQ? If not, what's the fix in 5.1.2? TY

Are you sure you have the most updated version on Curse? I don't have team chat spam problems, but I believe the older version that was hosted on Jafula's website may have that issue.

Yep. Wiped Jamba ealier and got the current Other Download 5.1.2 from Curse. Currently chasing down two bugs; the team spam and team invitations being accepted then disbanded. Something to do with my new ElvUI and Jamba fighting each other.
Fogy: the bug is in the core TukUI code so has no doubt propogated to ElvUI as well.
Simple fix is turn off auto accept invites in ElvUI.

Can you copy and paste (as a reply here) the team spam you are getting?
