Hi,

I finally got my PC desktop (server) and my macbookpro (client) connected on Synergy. Now I can move the mouse cursor out of the PC's screen and it will appear on the mac, like some kind of magic, very impressive.

But yet, it's not broadcasting. I need the mouse not just on one of those acting, but on both simultaneously. The same for the keyboard.

How do I get this arranged?

In 1.3, I read about some ppl using some command lines in terminal to realize this. But unfortunately, I didn't undertand and I don't know if it still works with this version of synergy 1.4.10.

Any help is appreciated big times.
thx in advance

I don't see a link to your reference, was it clone keys?

No, not Clonekeys. That's for distributing the inputs onto several instances on one machine. I need a solution to distribute the inputs from one machine to another...

What you need is synergy with broadcast. It is a separate branch of synergy. I have a few posts on it in the past. I'm on my phone so it is tough to search them down right now.

A quick google search should did it though.

I only need synergy with broadcast on the server side, right? I think I downloaded synergy with broadcast 1.3 for windows from this site. it was a zip with synergy.exe, synergys.exe and synergyc.exe in it. But I could not find a mac version but dead links. So I could use it on the pc but problem is that when I try to open the files I get the message "Synergy failed to initialize: The service process could not connect to the service controller." I recently set some services on manual, which was stupid of me, but could that have caused this maybe?

I found an old copy of synergy broadcast on my hard drive. IIRC, I had to build it from the source and i don't think it does mouse broadcasting, but you can seamlessly move the mouse from one computer to the other. Keep in mind that the date this build has on it is from a LONG time ago soooo.... your results may vary. I think the tilde key toggled on and off broadcasting.

I uploaded a zipped copy of the source and my binaries that you can try out. You should be able to find it here https://dl.dropbox.com/u/2110626/synergyB.zip.

If you want a much more friendly experience boxing i would strongly suggest running ISBoxer on one or two computers. I run five accounts on one computer and only one monitor without any issues at all. As MiRai pointed out earlier in this post (or one of your others) I don't think you will find anyone else using this for boxing when there are much cleaner solutions out there. But let us know your results.

Hope this helps

I only need synergy with broadcast on the server side, right?

I used the same version (with broadcast) for both the server and the client, i don't know about mixing versions.

Thx for your reply and your efforts, mate.

The reason why i am so keen on using the mbp is because i can use 2 displays this way.

Unfortunately, if the mouse is not being multicasted, it's useless for me.

I think it was the broadcast version of synergy 1.3 which i could download here. But unfortunately, i can't use it because of some service issues on vista. I would have to reinstall vista or... shall I set all services from "manual" to "automatic" before that? Could that help maybe?

I don't know if you will be able to do what you want, but Input Director is the go too software for what you're trying to do. It does have a multicast mouse/kb option but I have not tested it with a mac. The option is to mirror input across master and slaves.

Hi,

I am looking for a boxing solution for diablo 3 on 2 pcs.

Hotkeynet turned out to be a good keyboard broadcaster, but I still couldn't find a useful mouse broadcaster.

The point is, that diablo requires a mouse broadcaster, which does not only sends single clicks and its locations to the clients but sends also "dragging" commands, which means, you have your mouse button hold while you move your mouse and after a certain time you release it. This complete process has to be replicated on the client exactly on the same way. same timining, click- and release location and the movement path. So it nearly has to be a 100% mouse broadcaster.

Can anyone recommend me any program aside from isboxer?

kind regards,

I installed windwos 7 on my macbookpro, so there is no os matter anymore.

Still, I am looking for a mouse broadcasting solution (i can use hkn for keyboard broadcasting).

I don't know if input director is sufficient for my needs regarding multiboxing in diablo3.

Please stop opening so many threads on the same issue. Stick to one thread per topic, you're making it impossible for people to follow what's going on.

If you have windows 7 now, get the free trial of isboxer, especially since you want mouse broadcasting.

I finally gave it up and started with ISbox... which I definately should have done earlier. I have new troubles with ISBoxer now though.

Please refer to my new thread if you are familiar with ISboxing:
