Hey all, I was just wondering if it would be worth it to merge accounts, and what it means in the long run?

Currently I'm only boxing two accounts for the RaF bonus. Plan on taking Lock/Pally to 80, granting my 68 dk 12 levels, then probably shaman/hunter and/or rogue/shaman.

-Can I still log in with the same bnet email and select which account to play?
-Does each account need a separate subscription?
-If I choose (probably won't pay separate subs if that's the case) can I transfer my now merged account's toon's to my Main WoW account?

Long term goals aren't really to play a full team (though I would love it, don't have the hardware or means to do so at the moment). I mainly just want a bunch of toons crafting as quickly as possible.

If there's anything else you think I should know, please don't hesitate to fill me in!
Thank you

yes, yes, and yes.

The main benefits to combining are sharing the bind to account items, sharing the mounts, instant mail, and probably more but that's all I can think of.

You might want to refer to this thread for prior discussion: http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/48488-Finally-merged-my-3-bnets-are-there-going-to-be-any-issues-I-am-not-currently-aware-of

1) can now share all my heirlooms/arch BOAs across all 5 accounts
2) shared mounts
3) cannot pet duel (don't care about this... dueling doesn't award xp anyway)
4) might cause some hiccups in isboxer as I reconfigure each toon (considering a fresh setup anyway)
5) instant mail!

negatives:

often can't pet battle except on one specific account so you might have to log out your other accounts toons before you can battle (annoying if you like to keep someone parked at the daily trainer while you do auction stuff on a different account

can't use in game AH at the same time as online ah, even if the two are on separate accounts. This only affects you if you're trying to transfer stuff through the neutral AH.

I had five accounts, spread across five B.Net accounts.

Then consolidated down to a single B.Net.

And later decided to 10-box, which obviously meant more than the 8 account cap per B.Net.
Using the web chat based support, they had no issues moving two of my original accounts off of the one B.Net and onto one of the previous B.Net emails.

So, it is likely that you can both consolidate and split your accounts at will.
But that is not a guarantee.

The biggest benefits are:
a) One authenticator, for your entire B.Net... which could be eight accounts.
b) One www.worldofwarcraft.com log-in, for account management of every account.
c) Shared achievements/mounts, across the entire B.Net for many things.
d) Instant mail between your own accounts, even if they're not in the same guild.

And the biggest detractors:
a) You're limited to one beta account, per B.Net email.
b) Cross faction arbitrage, via the Neutral Auction House, isn't nearly as easy.
c) Pet battle issues.
