I know everything always changes for the worse at 90 but right now I am in love with my priest team. Remembered I had some that were around level 50 so decided to pick them up again. I cleared the Sunken Temple with 4 priests (at level and with horrible gear). I decided to pair them up with an old pally I had now they are doing hellfire ramparts with crappy gear. DPS is not as high as it would be with shadow priests but surviavability is pretty awesome. I only have one healing macro for my tank and that is to simply cast renew X 4 on her and that is mainly for just the boss fights. Passive healing handles the rest.

Well, I like non-standard groups and this one is awesomely non-standard and awesome to boot!

I think the easiest PvE team I ever had was my druid tank + 4 disc priests back in WotLK. They were very fun and atonement makes dungeons trivial. I abandoned the team as they weren't great for PvP.

When you say PVP, did you mean BGs or arena?

I am guessing they seriously nerfed older dungeons. I am in Utgarde Keep right now with level 67 pally and 4 disc priests and can get to the last boss (in crappy Burning Crusades gear). I died after the last boss transitioned. No Lich gear at all.

Just cleared UK!!!! dayam!

Im currently levelling all classes 1-80 through dungeons and so far 4 Disc priests have been the fastest, they've done most damage with the bad gear that is a result of RAF.
A bonus is also just spamming smite, no need to heal :P

Going to push them and see what happens! REALLY digging it so far!

Way back during my original RAF, Disc Priests leveled faster than Elemental Shaman...
That was during the late Burning Crusade era.

Almost every mob, needed a little more than 5x Lightning Bolt... so it was that, plus a second cast.
Meanwhile the Priests could 5x Smite, and that was enough to one-shot quest mobs in the world.
Smite did (and maybe does) a decent amount of damage; and with the whole Atonement Healing thing... even better.

I don't believe disc priests' smite, or any offensive spell, will benefit from PvP power, so they're still off the radar as far as that is concerned.

Currently running a lowbie team, 1 arms warrior and 4 disc priests, it's the easiest group I've ever had, no need to heal. The warrior is in defensive stance with a shield, and the priests don't do as much damage as 'real dps' would, but still, they do quite a lot of damage. Really fun group to play with.

TLDR: I love Disc priests too!

Discipline priests are indeed the most eficient healer option in any PVE MB group, imo. And they do pretty good DPS. They always score 2nd, after the DK tank (I began with palas tanking but I found DKs much more powerful and fun to play).

Druids are strong healers but need a lot more click healing management.

Disc priest are cast and spank mode. If you have your tank shielded you just have to DPS FTW and occasionaly cast a Flash here and there.

I've never used a shaman as a healer.

Atm, I'm leveling 7 teams: 1 team lev 86, 4 teams 80-85, and 2 teams level 35. All my teams are multi class combos.

/cast [nochanneling] [target=targettarget] Power Word: Shield

Tried any pvp with this group yet? Disc priests are hard as hell to kill in Bgs let alone four of them

The problem is that IWT for any class without a melee spec is awful. So with Priests you have two spells that can make you auto face (maybe more I can't think right now). If I see a boxer with a class that requires facing to cast, then I really know how to screw with them. Priests are fun, but actual implementation isn't as nice.

My disc priest macros (four steps)

1:!if (character in "Priest Disc") /castsequence [@focus] Prayer of Mending, Power Word: Shield, Prayer of Mending, Prayer of Mending, Power Word: Shield

2:!if (character in "Priest Disc") /cast Holy Fire

3:!if (character in "Priest Disc") /cast Mindbender

4:!if (character in "Priest Disc") /castsequence Smite, Penance

For five man fights you can put a second smite in the last castsequence, I don't like to do a full just "smite" on its own because it tends to hinder the rest of it flowing smoothly and being used whenever the other abilities come off cooldown (because of the way that /cast queues work, I imagine).

Actually IWT faces them the direction they need to go. It will also walk them a bit if the target is out of range and seems to stop when they are in range of the target.

I just cleared Violet Hold at level 72 with no deaths. Not even near death. Love this team.

This thread inspired me to try 1x warrior and 4xs disc priests and holy cow - amazing! The lower level dungeons aren't generally tough even when boxing, but in placeswhere I usually die at least once (first boss in Scarlet Halls, for instance) I didn't even come close to dying. 4x renew on tank + shield and renew/shield on everyone is just so dang overpowered. Awesome suggestion, curious how well this will scale.

8 disc priests + 2 tanks could probably zerg Algalon for the achv that requires low gear. DPS is amazing at 80 atm

What a great idea! I have a team with two disc, two destro, and a feral tank in the low 70s and planning to lock them at 80 and work on herald sounds like a fun goal for this month. I've heard that the best way to gear out is to mostly gear up from the 225 gear in the ICC 5mans and then use that for ulduar.
