I was just going to upgrade my old computer but got carried away and just built a new one only for multiboxing.

The specs of new computer are..

Case-Corsair 500R

Mobo-MSI|990FXA-GD80V2

CPU-FX-8350 Visheara 4.0ghz OC 4.2ghz 1.4vcore prime95 ran fine 6 hours max temp was 54c

Ram-G. Skill 32 gb (8x4)

harddrive 180gb vortex SSD

Cooling-Corsair H100 liquid cooling system. Push and pull plus 8 case fans-12 fans total.

GPU-2xNvidia 560TI SLI

PSU-Corsair 850w pSU

windows 7 pro 64 bit

no other programs running except system stuff, Logitech apps for G19 and MX pro, and the program for my fragpedals.

i just finished last night and still got some slowdown doing Sha on ultra single boxing. Got down to 10 fps until I scrolled my view in closer then it was fine-30 fps. Single boxing in Stormwind ran about 105 fps.

5 boxing I changed everything to good, multi sample to 1, ssao disabled, shadows low, textures high, particle density ultra. 3 monitors at 1900x1080, 5 screen stacked with a ton of video fx screens. I wasn't able to okay long but all 5 toons in Stormwind were running about 25 fps, and cpu usage was bouncing between 70 and 80%, ram at 20%, cpu 41c, gpus about 50c, my north bridge was the hottest at about 65c. I was a bit dissapointed with that cpu usage as I want to start making some videos. Any ideas/tips for a newbie? This was my first computer build. I have another computer I could use for the recording software perhaps? It has a phenom ii 1100t 3ghz and a radeon 5770 in it.

SLI might be part of the prob...i know when ihad SLI and ran wow with it enabled it slowed stuff down until i turned it off.. ill never do SLI again though.. the 580 has been more than enough for me and any game i play ( 24in screen )

Hmm I wonder why it slows it down? I could always put the extra card in my other computer but I really thought the SLI would be badass. I need it for my third monitor but I don't have to have 3. I only use 2 for boxing really.

Because WoW (along with many other titles) is not optimized for SLI. Since you're probably running wow in windowed mode, you're definitely not getting any benefit from SLI.

You guys are right, it is the SLI. It tests and works fine on other applications but doesn't even register with wow. Stupid! Lol. Yeah! I'm an okie :) nice to see another on here! I got a few irl friends here that play wow, maybe one day I can get enough to make a raid.

Kinda wish I'd saved the money on that card now and bought a better one. I chose SLI because I already had 1 560ti

SLI is great for other games.. single person types.. I bet you could sell both those and get a crzy good 670 or better? im still using 580 3gb
