Encountered a player, he followed me for a bit, i assume to write a report on me, who then later told me I should be careful not to get caught multiboxing since its illegal. After I told him its not botting which is illegal he said that blizzard deemed it botting now since MOP and illegal, so I linked him to http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/7320082291, which was posted 5 days ago. He didn't reply after.

Best way to deal with tards like this is to educate them, most of the time they are reasonable and don't give two hoots, but in cases like this, they're either too young to know how to read, or older and when reasoned with logic, tend to freeze and not know what to do lol.

I get whispers like that all the time. I don't bother arguing with them or reasoning with them. They say they are going to report me, I just say "OK" and move on.

Many just don't understand the difference between multiboxing and botting. People also tend to believe that everything they don't understand themselves how it's done must of course be illegal.

I normally do not respond too hate whispers anymore either. The other day I was PLing one of my RaF teams at the famous spot in deepholm. I was staying on one side and someone was on the other. It was going great! Then some mage comes and starts running around my side spamming arcane blast. I whispered her to please respect that I was there first. She said she has no respect for botters. I noticed she had a friend/alt hovering above getting PLd. I said I'm not a bot.. I'm boxing and PLing my alts like you are. Bla bla bla...same old responses . I'm reported..bla bla bla.. So i got my team of mages and park one in every spawn spot and spammed arcane blast for about an hour..the winch never did leave lol. But I'm pretty sure her exp per hour was less than 10% of what it was before i did that. That was a low for me.. but she pissed me off lol.

Lately I have been getting the same thing in RIFT, strangely only from Defiant players.

Not sure about WoW as I never had the issue of being harassed but in RIFT if they do not leave me alone and continually /follow me and spam duel requests/whatever else they can do to annoy me, I just report them.
I then get a ticket response from Trion saying "we hope we have resolved the reported issue to your satisfaction", which is usually followed by an apology from the offending player. :)

If don't annoy me too much I basically say the same thing as Nightsham and / or "Good luck with that, please let me know how that works out for you."

I can't remember the last time I bothered to reply to someone accusing me of cheating. It reminds me of the guy from the Matrix when he looks at the screen and says, I don't even see code anymore. I have filtered my chat channels so I miss all the /say /general/ /trade /emote crap.

EULA. That term is thrown around by uninformed cretins more than Rihanna.

If I respond, it is to say boxing is fine botting is not.
Go ahead and report me, if you want to waste your time.
Add me to your friend list, and you'll see I don't disappear for cheating...

Usually its easier to ignore them.

Sometimes you can play with them.
Just don't do or say anything that could get you into trouble.

I just say something like "Then just report me and move on, let me know how that works out for you."

Ualaa I did just that. Told them to add me to friends, and check back with me later in the week. They never responded to that. But I added them and plan on whispering them to say "Hi there" and thats it :p

I usually turned on /broadcast and hit them x5 with "Make sure you get all my names right when you file the report. ;)"

Don't even bother replying. Why so many of you have witty or crass remarks on demand to send to these morons is beyond my comprehension, what does it accomplish?

You don't Want to get reported constantly even though what you are doing isn't wrong. The contents of the tickets they send are entirely at their discretion and with the right wording they can get you suspended. Apparently I was reported in a BG the other day for using my multiboxing to tug around my alts and avoid being AFK - the result was a 3 hour suspension on one of my toons for exploitation of the honor system. The GM refused to rescind this suspension and told me to avoid it in the future I need to actively participate (I was doing Temple and activiely participating to the point of my fingers being numb). Outside of BGs I'm sure there are all kinds of possibilities - they report you griefing by whatever means using your multiboxing and don't think some $10/hour GM is going to hesitate to just click the 3 hour suspend button.

You just have to love people who bring up the "it's illegal" .. Yes, i am quite sure that Blizzard are above the law in each and every country all over the world, and dictate how the laws should be written in each country.
Clearly, if you do something that is not okay with the EULA, you are a criminal.. Ye, right..

Illegal: not according to or authorized by law : unlawful, illicit; also : not sanctioned by official rules (as of a game)

The application of legality is not only confined to the laws of a country or jurisdiction.
Therefore, using the word illegal in this case is appropriate.

The application of legality is not only confined to the laws of a country or jurisdiction.
Therefore, using the word illegal in this case is appropriate.

Search results on illegal:

1. Prohibited by law.

2. Prohibited by official rules: an illegal pass in football.
3. Unacceptable to or not performable by a computer: an illegal operation.

1. forbidden by law; unlawful; illicit
2. unauthorized or prohibited by a code of official or accepted rules

illegaladj illegal [iˈliːgəl]not allowed by the law; not legal It is illegal to park a car here.

Yes, to some degree i guess you could use the word, but as you can clearly see, the main use of it, is that it is not okay with the law.

Not gonna derail this thread any more however to the point where the original point is gone. Have a lovely day, sir.

I just move on unless they are threatening in the whisper, usually thinking I am the person from the zerg that just face rolled them and they want to rage on me.

If they are threatening, I report them.
