Has anyone else had a full settings reset?? I logged in after the patch and had my video settings set to full max, highest screen resolution, and all my addons reset to default from what I had previously. Did bliz remove the path to the WTF folder now? None of my profiles are there anymore either so I can't just set them to what I had before.

No issues for my setup, all my UI settings are where they should be. Though a UI reset always gives me the shoulder-tingles because a few years ago a whole bunch of people in my guild {at the time} were complaining of the same thing, next thing you know, their accounts had been pillaged. They were hit with a keylogger that worked by resetting everything so you'd have to reenter your UserID and password, that way the keylogger could record it.
It could just be a glitch or a permissions issue, too. I've seen sporadic complaints of random settings in the game not staying as they were set. But nothing that wiped out everything.

Hmm could have been a keylogger. Though they can't get in without my authenticator though. I have never had my account hacked ever, and thanks to my authenticator probably never will. The thing I find weird is that all my addon profiles are gone. My WTF folder is still there with toons from all my servers and what not. Though the settings are probably set to zero. Blows but all well. I am getting the feeling of formatting my computer, all my drives. Just sucks cause I have business stuff I can't loose, and personal stuff I would have a hard time replacing. I need to buy a few 3TB drives to backup the important stuff and do a full clean, rebackup to the old drives, then reinstall the 3tb drives and make them my permanent storage drives, and install drives. I might even put them in a RAID. I am so tempted to just do a complete format though. Wipe 5 drives clean, and start from scratch. Too bad I hold sentiment to stuff :p

Sometimes happens when your WoW crashes or did not close down (exit) properly. I would suggest backing up your WTF folder regularly... I learned from that a year or two ago when I was playing the auction house and lost many months of data and my UI.
My WTF folder is stored on Dropbox using a symbolic link to my WoW folder. (I also have another symbolic link with my addons folder) Doing so, I sync my addons to my other computers/laptop without the use of the Curse Client or etc. I also normally start up my WoW with a .bat file which clears the creaturecache.wdb for npcScan and zips up a copy of the WTF folder onto another harddrive.
For example, a few days ago, my druid got randomly disconnected and I lost all my chat channels/color. Instead of joining them all again, I just went to the Dropbox website, through the folders to my chat-cache.txt and then rolled back/restored just that single file to an earlier date.

Speaking of this topic, do any of you use the curse add on for automatically checking for updates? I don't and never have, but checking if anyone here uses it.

I don't, but I suspect I'm in the minority. I prefer to do it manually so I can check the comments to make sure I'm not upgrading into a bug.

I do all my addons manually.

I do all my addons manually because I was playing four years ago when they had some major hacking issues so I'd never trust it.

I just had this happen to me recently.
All of a sudden, like a week ago, all my settings reset on 3 of my 5 toons.
It was like they had never logged in before.
I had to redo all addon settings, keybinds and ui settings.
Basically everything except macros, which are stored on the server.
Extremely annoying.
It never occurred to me to backup my WTF folder, but I guess I should now.

I wish there was an option to do this on purpose.
I have so many toons across so many accounts, all with their own keybindings and macros and whatnot. Sometimes I just feel I should start over and setup everything again.

Delete your wtf folder?

That doesn't really do much for your UI. All your macros, keybinds, UI settings, all saved on the WoW server. If you want to start over with a fresh UI it has to be done by accident from a bug, such as what happened to the OP.
Or you do it for every toon individually by hand.

I've never tried this method before, but you could try creating this macro:
/console synchronizeBindings 0
/console synchronizeConfig 0
/console synchronizeMacros 0
/console synchronizeSettings 0
Run it once in game, logout, delete your WTF folder, and log back in to see if everything is still there.

Guess my drive I had wow in is showing decay. I should back up those files soon, cause it looks bad. I moved wow to another drive, and haven't seen a latency jump over 50ms like it should, and computer hasn't crashed while playing either. I luckily backed up my WTF folder to my laptop just recently so I'm going to copy it over and see if that restores my macros and addon settings. Main thing is TSM auction list. I put a few hours into compiling that list.
