View Full Version : [ISBoxer] New Life Event passed. Returning to Boxing... SWTOR's my game.
Hello Dual-Boxing.com
I've had a significant life event in the past year and a half. I've purposefully not gotten back into multiboxing, until I saw SWTOR is now F2P. 3 of my boys now have F2P accounts, and I have 4 myself. The 14 yr old has chosen to attempt to dual box his account and follow in daddy's footsteps. Before I get to that point with him..
I will be renewing my ISBoxer sub this evening, and am curious as to what has changed in the past year and a half with ISBoxer and SWTOR.
Is the Follow command working better now? We had a crude work around with Mosg2's and Mercbeast's Frameworks.
Game window lag between clients still an issue? Even with a well put together computer, we were still seeing subtle lag incidents between client windows.
I have several game profiles for SWTOR already, however, I think I will be starting from scratch, and creating my "Follow, Assist, Target" all over.
Anyway,
I never get too personal on the internet, however this time.. My new life events name is Lucas. Hes nearly a year and a half now. I really enjoy calling him Luke, and reminding him "No, I, am your father."

Shocked that you needed to father a whole child to beat your addiction and stop writing in blue text.
Welcome back.
LOL! thanks Ashley.
As for the blue text... As a licensed professional engineer, I am very organized. Not using the blue text is not my choice but the personal preference of some.
Individuality... Some people can't stand it. Oh well. I can type just as easily in black.
Regarding my son, it helped make the decision a lot easier, when he also had a medical condition which required my immediate attention, and a year for treatment. All better now. The 4th child definitely put a damper on the gaming time.. but I happily gave it up. I love my kids dearly.

Free to play is very limited. I doubt you will be satisfied with it. I am about to end my Swtor accounts due to boredom.

I did the same thing(Single boxing) The restrictions on F2P are enormous.

Glad everything is going well again for you now.
Regarding Star Wars, the restrictions can be pretty limiting. Though they haven't started showing up regularly on my server yet, all the unlocks from the coin shop seem to be tradable and sellable on the Galatic Trade Network. So if you don't mind checking it often, you can get some of the essentials to get you going through there. I think I read that Amazon is having the game on sale for $6 for black friday. If you register a game key, that should give a month of premium access and set your accounts to preferred when its over.
I started playing the game a couple days before the change over and have been having fun dual boxing Powertechs. Follow has been working pretty good for me. I have had the usual getting stuck in corners, but outside of the Imperial Fleet it hasn't broken from lag. For game window lag, I don't know. I only run one copy on my laptop as it makes the system get hotter than 4 boxing WoW did. I run a second copy using my desktop.

Just going to throw my two cents in here. Follow was fixed a while ago, and it's still working just fine for me (working on my third dual box team). I've been re-subbed since August after quitting not long after 1.2 launched. More power to you if you decide to go the F2P route. I know I sure couldn't considering how restrictive it is (e.g., you're limited to two quick slot bars and have to purchase an authorization for medical probes if you want to resurrect in the field after five times).
Like Flux1 said, all of the Cartel shop items can be posted to the GTN, including the new experience boosts, which come in major and minor forms. For example, a major experience boost gives you a 25% bonus to all types of experience for three hours. I've stocked up on these and purchased the Legacy experience boosts to make leveling a bit less painful. On my server, you can pick one up for ~50-60k.
We still don't have even rudimentary macros. Granted, I adjusted to this fact ages ago, but thought I'd mention that in case you were wondering.

I'm going to be trying SWtOR again in a few months. I like when games go FTP.. I like being able to buy exp potions and such! I blew tons of cash when i went back to EQ1, but i enjoyed it a lot! I wish WoW would just sell that type of stuff..FTP or not.

I've been back into SWTOR since a few weeks before the F2P launch and I really have been having a good time. My experiences are that /follow works quite well but lag created by visual impediments like the "grass" rendering on Belsavis and Alderaan. I recommend setting the grass setting to 0 and disable AA if your suffering visual stuttering/lag. It totally changed my experience.
With F2P I've been considering adding 2 F2P accounts with my P2P accounts and just purchase a few skill bars for them. Problem is that my PC is too dated to pull this off currently so I will just focus on my main accounts. If you will be doing the normal questing for exp I highly recommend buying all the class mission exp bonus perks for +30%, it really helps and I've managed to skip a lot of side quests especially on Nar Shaddaa.

In a developer Q&A, Bioware said preferred accounts will have 4 quickbars and 6 char slots patched in. I assume this will be when 1.6 hits, so buying quickbars now wouldn't be worth it. Just sub for a month to level faster and when that's over you get these extras.
I managed to get artifact equipment and section x account unlocks off GTN the other day for one account, so they are slowly coming up at better prices for extra accounts you don't want to permanently sub on.
