Why would I be getting disconnect from wow every hour on the dot when I am boxing ?
If, I am using a single client, not opened by boxing software, I have no issues.
I do not know why this keeps happening, prior I would get d/ced and then when I would try to log back in, it would say character not found, and it would stay that way at times for as much as 3 hrs. EVen if I reset my pc, router etc wouldnt make a difference.
My daughter plays as well, she does not box, and uses same net connection as me, an dhas no disconnection issues and it only happnes to me when I am boxing.
What could be the cause ?

That is really bizarre. Maybe check the WoW forums? If it can't find your character then that sounds like a WoW issue and not boxing software.

If it only happens when boxing, I'd say it has to boxing related.
But that doesn't really narrow anything down for you.
And the character not being found is puzzling...
At one point in the past, my roommate had that for Everquest, and it turned out to be a setting on a network card conflicting with a change from a new expansion.
How long has this been happening?
Did you install something, or remove something around that time?
Can you try a different boxing software, just to rule out whatever software you box with?
If you're using IS Boxer, there are crash diagnostics which can be run.
Lax can use those to narrow things down to a large degree.

How many toons are you boxing? If you open too many and your internet connection cant keep you will receive disconnects from time to time.
As for your problem about unable to log back in after, I have had a similar problem before and if I remember correctly you can log into a different realm then back to your main realm and you will be able to log back in.

Have you enabled parental controls? :P
This is similar to a problem I had a couple years back, I root caused it to bad RAM. The character issue is new to me but the RAM is something you can start with.

I think parental controls say that it is logging you out shortly, so unless he saw that message then i don't think it was that. I also realize you may be being facetious ;)

Hi guys, Im only using isboxer and jamba.
I dont use parental controls.
Im at the other friggen situation again now... "Charatcer Not Found" problem, got d/ced, logged in, it hands on loading my toon, and bounces me back too character not found, this can sit like this for as much as 3 hrs before I can actually play.
Its driving me up the wall, killing my game time all the time.
Does not happen to my daughter's account, which is on same bnet as me.
Im boxing x5 like always, this has been happening for a good 2 weeks off and on, but solid for a week easy.
nothing has changed, nothing new added, nothing new deleted....
Very odd, like pain in the ass odd, as it stays like this at times for Hours...... so far its 15 mins and cannot login, well I start to load, and then character not found happens... /sigh

Ok update, its happening to my daughters account now, which is on same bnet as me, separate pc's.
I called blizz spoke to tech, 2 diff ppl, 2 diff times
renamed, cache, wtf etc. flushed ip, shut modem off, run wow as admin... moved umm gee cant even think now, at end of it, he is insisting it is a connectivity issue somehow, possibly packet loss... all other net works fine, except this wow issue... thing is when it says char not found, I can select another realm and login fine... so he is going to send me, in ticket support a list of trouble shooting, ive explained its happening on different accounts from same bnet, and on different pcs, so we ruled out software.
I dont get it, to me it seems its on their end... cause we can select other realms, when it happens...
I checked parental controls becausse it "used" to be enabled for my daughters account "before" i moved her wow account to "my" bnet
I saw in my bnet, under her wow account, parental controls is "enabled" and restricted hours I had, enabled a while ago was still there, but it didnt actually work, or take affect, since her wow was moved to my bnet... maybe it was is the issue, will find out soon, as her parental controls were enabled, but they never prevented her from logging in, or booting her off line, like it ussed too.. mayb eit bugged out somehow. I hope thats what it is, Im ready to blow a fuse!

Im flogging a dead horse.
I cannot seem to get it through their so called Tech people, that is NOT the issue.
1) I have used the anti-virus removal tool.
2) Its happening to ALL My Bnet accounts, on various pc's 3, 1 has No software on it, other then wow, and standard windows 7 install + a browser.
3) happens too all accounts, online same time, even my daughters
Today we are back to hourly disconnects again, tomorrow might be character not found.
With or Without mods, enabled, issue persists.
I just don't know where to look, what to change or what to do, to resolve it.
I can't believe how much actual play time I have lost cause of this :(

I had an issue like this a long time ago ( 3 years or more ) And it ended up being my modem was going bad. The fact that its happening to all your accounts on any PC in your house kind of rules out it being PC related. game related or anything on Bliz end IMO. It has to be someplace in your connection..ISP..router..modem..IMO
You should try a trial of another MMO ( or a FTP version ) and see if you DC from that as well, if you can handle that. I say that because if its an intermediate DC issue with your ISP or connection hardware, its hard to tell.

Arg, I login, and 4 mins later disconnected. Couldnt player earlier from issues, Im so crying.
umm Actually I will do that, will try some other free mmo and see what happens.
I called my ISP, a tech is coming out tomorrow apparently to investigate.
I'm wondering if it is the modem, not sure, I had one sent out about 2 months ago because the wireless on it did not work, was dead, wireless on this one works fine, but the pc's all 3 are wired direct to modem and pc's. Wireless is just used for T-Hub, ipads and laptop when used.
Its weird, because my daughters account when on same time as me, does not disconnect anywhere near as much as I do, but happens to her as well, as well as character not found, but when character not found issue happens, we can jump into other realms :/ So makes me wonder if its modem, cause seems odd if it is, I thought maybe somehow my bnet is screwed up somehow when my daughters account was moved to mybnet. Funny how you start to wonder 10 million things of what it could be lol
I do have the older modem here still, one where the wireless on it didnt work, but everything else did, maybe I might see if it will work, and see if it still causes wow d/cs before trying another mmo.
My head hurts.

Let me see if I can communicate my thoughts on this; forgive me any inadequacies. ;) In boxing over the years, I've noticed that WoW will do this to you under certain conditions. It seems as though certain setups (various router hardware, etc.) will suffer from longer "oops lost connection...reset" timeouts than others. Some also do not play very well with multiple clients running a bunch of streams to the same client PC (I fought that when 10-boxing with a cheapo Netgear). I presume you haven't monkeyed with your TTL or other values and aren't using some sort of "Super New And Improved Sexier Than Ever Bandwidth Speedup Connection Ping Booster Pro XL Elite" type of service? If you can eliminate all of that, you're down to eliminating your internal systems as a culprit. Now, in defense of the script-readers at Blizzard Support Bangladesh, there are cases where you can end up with problems like this only with WoW/blizzard games but not with other internet services. What would be interesting to see is if Diablo 3 kicked you off all the time, too, which would mean Blizzard's infrastructure doesn't like your setup. Then, see if you can run some other app that requires a constant connection (like some kind of streaming video or something that doesn't buffer) so you can see what's going on.
A few things you can try to help eliminate low-hanging fruit:
* Power off your dsl/cable/fiber router for a couple minutes and see if it clears up.
* Try a different router/hub.
* If you're connecting over wireless, try connecting wired or vice versa (use a different network adapter, basically)
* Open up the management page for your internet router.
** Go to the status page and see what the internet connection shows for Default Gateway. That's the IP for the router one step upstream from your modem.
** Open up a terminal/command prompt and type "ping -t 192.168.1.1" (use your Default Gateway IP instead of 192.168.1.1)
** Watch that window around the time you have connection issues. If you don't see any timeouts, that's good. After a few hours, press CTRL+C and see if it shows any packet loss. If not, that means your connection to your ISP's local hub seems to be good, which saves you a lot of headache. If you see packet loss there, you have a crappy connection to your provider and should bitch at them with lusty abandon until they fix it. ;)
* Try playing from a friend's/family member's house at the same time your daughter is playing from home or vice versa and see if the alternate location still has a problem. If it doesn't, the problem is definitely in your house connection or that area's local provider.
Failing all that, I'm not sure what to try next. Hopefully you can try the above without too much inconvenience. Good luck!

Thank You for the detailed post.
I called my cable ISP and explained the situation, Im on cable, so I cannot switch modems, cause its bound my mac address.
Cable Tech, checked out side box, said some cables were bent and could have been partially broken inside them, he also said modem frequency was a little low, he fixed outside cables, replaced them and adjusted the modem frequency... gaming was fine, for 1 day and it is back to the same issues again. /cry
Called up my ISP again, they could see on notes, Tech was out here, explained issues persist and tracert's are showing 30 hops, 20 fine, 10 timeouts...
They have said, that the feel it is pointing to a faulty modem, and will send me a new one out, should receieve it by Monday.
Hopefully this WILL resolve the issue.
Though I called up blizzard and asked if they would move my toons off a realm where I recently transfered too, I took a free realm xfer, off the high pop realm I was on, too avoid the 3hr+ queues a little while ago, a few guildies came as well... we are all miserable on the dead, backward useless realm.
They said they cannot do that, if I want to move I have too initiate a paid service.
So for now Im unsubbing all my 7 active accounts until I feel I want too pay to move, which wont be until well, maybe never, I can no longer justify their $25 per toon xfers anymore.
Oh well, thats my rant.

While I was downloading a few torrents the other day, my wow was disconnecting a fair bit.
Once I finished the download, and was seeding the disconnects went away.
I've got plenty of bandwidth, in the neighborhood of 150 Mb/sec on Speedtest... so I doubt it choked my connection.
Still, while downloading at 6 MB/sec, Warcraft didn't like that.

Like i said.. i thought that was it based on everything you said you tried and the rest of what you wrote. When it happened to me it took me a few weeks to give in and try the modem. The one i had was only a few months old, so i did not think that was it. I, like you, had tried everything under the sun EXCEPT changing the modem lol.
I hope this fixes it for you..let us know 8)
