So I've held off playing the new expansion, I was turned off by the addition of pandas but now I'm getting my itch to play again.

How are things looking? Fun as a boxer or better as solo to go through the content?

I was playing Holy pally and 4 dks but have atleast an 80 of all teams I could try.

Anyway just looking for some opinions.

MoP is quite good, way way better then Cata. Doesn't quite have the epic storyline of WoTLK yet... but it might be a surprise as the story progresses.

Heroics are doable as a boxer. If you look under Dungeons/Boss Strategy guide there is one person whose tackled a lot of them with a melee group. I leveled whole team together from 85-90.

Peeps complain about pickup quests but overall I think the questing is easier then in previous expansion. Some fun/funny quests as well.

If Cata turned you off of WoW and Multiboxing (like it did for me, I quit for over a year just prior to 4.1), MoP should pull you back in, I'm having the same level of fun if not a bit more then what I had in WoTLK... just be warned LOTS of dailies!

Interesting. Are you sure the instances are doable? I had a hell of a time with the ones in Cata. Are they easier? I'm not quite at the skill level of most people on this forum. I could box all of the WOTLK instances though, they were fun.
I just paid off my school loan so I was thinking of coming back to WoW too (in addition to Eve). I got the boxing itch again :)

For me its not that the quests are any more or less difficult than previous expansion, I'm just tired of questing. So very tired. Every expansion I have to quest to max level several teams, over and over and over and over again. So very tired.

But it has to be done so I can do what I love, end game PvE.

I'm pretty happy with the expansion as a whole so far. I'm running melee and the few heroics I've tried have been pretty easy to down, especially compared to the "lol@u melee have some acid in that wound" of Cata. I blogged a bit (http://www.dual-boxing.com/entries/87-Downtime-whooties!) about it earlier this week.

Questing feels a lot more involved than it was in Cata. There's quest hubs all over the place, including some that you're supposed to "stumble across" - that is, there are !'s on the map that lead you to the hubs in addition to the hubs you get through of breadcrumb quests. It was nice to have more than 3 quests in my log at a time.

And yes, there's a lot of gathering quests where you don't share credit, but I think we're still "up" a bit with quest items dropping for the whole party now. Plus there's a lot of "kill a boss" quests where you get credit even if you didn't tag the mob, so that's a nice change as well.

Dailies are insane. There's like 4+ different hubs (http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/6759186439) that you can hit a day and it's very easy to spend your entire time logged in trying to get them all done. Your best bet is to just pick one or two to work at a time or it's just going to feel overwhelming. And you'll never get around to dungeons - like me, lol.

You can level with various methods.

You can do instances.
Even if your team cannot do the bosses, you can do the trash and then repeat.

You can mindlessly grind on mobs.
There are quite a few places where the respawns are quick.
Some have been auto-banned from this (acting like a power leveling service or leveling bot) but everyone has had their accounts restored.

You can do PvP.
Win or lose, you get some experience from the bonus honor battleground.
You could also do random battlegrounds, which again is some experience.

Then there are quests too.

If you have more than one team leveling, you could stagger your play to always have rested.
Since you get twice the experience from killing mobs, but not from quests, this is somewhere between 1x and 2x experience.

Started another round of RAF today...
So will be boosting 5-6 teams.
A>F & B>G

Then a different set of 5-6 teams.
C>H & D>I

And then a final set of 5-6 teams.
E>J

So will be a while, before getting to the new MoP stuff.

^ ^This..Im so glad they are adding that once you have exalted on one toon.. your other toons get double exp for rep. I tried to do 3 reps.. tillers..golden lotus and klaxxi, but as you get friendly>>honored, you end up with more quests, Like Khat said, it can be overwhelming.. now i just do tillers and golden lotus. I also would normally just skip the collection quests, BUT if you don't do them.. you miss out on the final quest which gives a loot bag ( has gold and a chance at a SoH or Skyshard ) So i do them all. BTT im done doing them all+ harvesting my 12 crops and replanting, im beat lol.

I do one dungon run a day atm. I figure once i get the reps exalted, i can just start doing the easiest ( kill quests ) from each rep and be done with it. Ill be better geared and have plenty of cash by then.. so lots of time to grind dungons/PvP later. And i have a month left on my RaF still.. so need to make time for that!

OT... I like this expansion.. you definitely wont be saying " Theres nothing to do!" for awhile! And there adding a new faction in the patch lol

I'm LOVING the expansion. Thee is so much to do I haven't even bothered with tackling heroics or raiding yet, and I'm an ex-hardcore realm first raider, work that out lol.

But for you, you might just want to stay quit, there are pandas everywhere, bl you don't like them

Once the Pandas are geared up.. they just look like big fat things running around. They have to be naked to look "cute and cuddly" lol! But as Val said.. there is almost too much to do, if thats possible! I find it difficult on a normal day ( non-weekend or day off ) to get everything done I would "like" to get done. After i do my two factions worth of dailies.. and one dungeon run.. i'm beat. On the weekend, when i can play all day. I get things done that i cant durning the week. Like mining and gathering herbs for example. I actually can't wait until I don't "have" to do dailies anymore, so i can do other things. Also, when i do not "have" to do something.. i enjoy it more.

I got my 5 man team through to 90 around 1-2 weeks after the rest of my guild, questing is very very grindy with lots of little sparkly things to pick up off the ground, usually a couple of those quests were enough to make me rage log for a hour or two. I was so relieved to hit 90, and then the full of impact of the dailies were revealed to me lol.

I am focusing on getting the Tillers to exalted on the team, which opens up the full 16 slot farms, only a couple of days off now. Once that is done I will start on the Golden Lotus dailies or the Dragon serpent guys as I keep my 5 farms turning over every day.

I got one of my toons into LFR last night which was pretty cool, LFR is boxable and getting my other toons in there is another thing I am aiming for.

I'm getting the itch to level another team, if I do it will be through bgs and grinding skin able mobs.

I still do all my dailies, but I skip any that are collection. I'd rather be late to exalted then burn myself finishing in a month. Outside of profession recipes, there is not a whole lot the team gets from dailies. Bgs are in a strange place with all the aoe CC, but with a little pvp gear you can crush people in bgs so...

Exactly this. Do heaps of dailies, but only the easy ones, you don't HAVE to be exalted with every faction within 3 weeks of MoP release. Most of them are just for fun anyway :P

So far I would have to say that I am enjoying this expansion more than Cat. There have been a few issues that I have run into that I am sure not everyone else has. For example, I hit level 90 at the start of Kun-Lai. While this was ok as now all the quests give big gold rewards. I had to go online and dig up the information on how to get flight. I was surprised at how much I still had to do to unlock the big hub city, and I am not looking forward to doing this with more alts.

The biggest ball drop so far at 90 is the inability to run random dungeons. I don't have the iLevel for heroics and the main source of JP and gear from normal dungeons is unavailable. It's supposed to get fixed, but its pretty damn lame my 85 shaman can get 70jp for a random and my level 90 can't do any randoms at all.

I do like the gear vendors. For around 1,000 gold you can totally gear a fresh 85 and steamroll dungeons out of the gate. You can do this again at 87 and 88 and upgrade anything you might have missed. It makes it nice for alts, but it's also a bit counter productive with some of the other short falls like having to re-quest and unlock everything like the hub city, dailies and such.

However I will say my favorite part is my Prot Paladin feels strong again. In Wrath he was a god. Cat came out and Holy Power just turned him into a half ass DK with half of the abilities I had in Wrath. Now with 5 holy power instead of 3 and the return of some core abilities he is kicking ass again. Oh and 500k health pools to stack Vengeance and hitting 120k dps is pretty sweet too.

I would give this expansion an 7.5 out of 10. It looses a point on some of the polish issues I already stated and another point for Lore. Everything is too new and unknown and I am still not keen on the idea of an expansion based around an old April fools joke panda class. The aspects are gone, the burning leigon should be knocking on Azaroth's door.

Wait... where are these gear vendors??

Starbuck_Jones

* All vendors have gear for all specs + slots
* Though they only sell 1 ring/trinket these are NOT UNIQUE, so you can simply wear two at once!
* All the i372 gear vendors have the same items.

edit: anyone notice how many trinkets they give you questing to 90? I have like 6 that are i429 and a few i437. Seemed like it was raining trinkets.

It's pretty decent gear. My shaman was 85 and had no gear other than Cat quest gear. It was a huge upgrade for her and after reforging everything into haste she was punching out 25k dps on the target dummies. Right now I just kill yeti's with her while cracked out on coffee beans in Khao-lai summit while waiting for dungeon finder to pop.

I capped JP/HP prior to MOP, and damn am I lucky I did, with the Dread Wastes quest 450 gear (3 pieces) plus the 3 or so pieces I could buy with JP (they lowered the requirements to friendly faction pretty early). I didn't have problems getting in.

Heroics aren't faceroll to box early on, but they are honestly quite doable compared to Cata, I would really put them in the same class as WoTLK for sure. And like a lot of other people... I literally have like a checklist of things I try to do (non-weekend, day off) and it's basically do my crafting CD's, two factions worth of dailies and one Random Heroic, or 2 scenarios (tank runs through with other 4, two separate groups). On weekends I have extra time to try out heroics that have been giving me problems (last boss in the Gate of Setting Sun??... huge Bug). Hands down though my three favorite heroics so far, are the two SH and the Scholo... they wrecked it for boosting but I like it.

My one wishlist thing... they somehow incorporate a Caverns of Time instance in one of the upcoming content packs, but not in the crappy Cata way... I feel like they could totally redeem themselves... Durnholde, Stratholme and Dark Portal were great. Maybe some backstory deal with Garrosh and Cairn?? or something, those Cata CoT instances left a bad taste in my mouth :( Ooor... and this isn't a spoiler cuz I have no clue but some backstory instance to do with the Black Dragon flight... some tie in with Wrathion.
