I'm pretty new at this and currently dualboxing a prot pally and balance druid, where the pally is the master. Paladins have this passive ability called Heart of the Crusader that increases mount speed with 20%. This means that I have to stop, start, stop, start all the time when riding somewhere or the druid will be left behind. The stop/starting is getting on my nerves but I doubt I'm the only one who's run into this issue so, how do others deal with things like this? I'd rather not switch to have the druid lead every time I want to ride.

Option 1, lead with the druid.
Option 2, get a two-person mount.
Option 3, stop every so often. What I did was download RangeDisplay (http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info7297-RangeDisplay.html#info) and enabled it for my focus with the Out of Range set to 38, which is just shy of when follow is going to break.

Then I added the following lines to my master's mount macro. This sets my focus to one of my shamans, who don't have any mounted speed boosts. The mod for the clearfocus is because I use a modifer for dismounting, so when I dismount, I also unfocus my slave. -

/focus party2
/clearfocus [mod]

That gives me an alert so I can slow down for a second and let my slave catch up.

I bought master flying on the followers and not on my pally leading. The difference ends up being about 6% so I only have to stop start about once a minute which is bareable

I had the exact same issue, and have made my boomkin the master. Also I want the SoH on my druid not any of my other team.

I lead with the slowest toon.
That's about the only thing that always works.
Used to be able to talent or enchant the slower toons, to reduce the disparity.

Same deal with run speed variations.

With the Pally/4x DK team...
Had to lead with a DK mounted... and with the Pally while running.
Not that big of a deal, once you figure which is slowest.
