I have a question for players who run 5+ accounts. I have 9 accounts total atm but I can't run them and I need help. I can run 5 atm and it is desent with the occasional lagging of one or two accounts . My system is :
Proc: i7 CPU
Ram: 16G triple Chan
video: 2x GTX 460 1g vram

My video cards are not SLI together and i do not swap windows. I have my main char on one monitor with the other 4 on the second low graphic setting at 800x450 my primary is 1600x900 so i can use mouse repeating. From what I have seen I should beable to run all 9 of my accounts with no issue but i can't and I'm not good at figuring out why. Please help me. My current setup is only running 5 of my 9 accounts. If someone could please help me troubleshoot my issues I.would be forever in your debt :-)

What do you mean by "can't run them" - crashes? laggy? won't start up?

Here's my system:
i7-920 overclocked to 4GHz
12GB RAM
2GB ATI 6950
Eve on SSD
ISBoxer with the clients stacked on the left screen and a dxNothing display of 15/27/36 video feeds on the right screen

I have a 5-man team that I run with medium settings and 30/15 FPS limit - runs really well;

I have a 9-man team that I run with low settings and 30/15 FPS limit - runs well, the PC occasionally feels a little sluggish, but it's very playable;

I tried running 12 clients and although it works, the PC really has issues - after docking/undocking/gating (ie. any transition) 1+ clients will crap out, giving me a black screen on that client which needs restarting; and I've even had several occasions where some of the clients stop taking keyboard input but the mouse is fine; 12 clients really aren't playable on my PC :(

When running 5 I experience the occasional black screen on one client during loads ie undock jumps and such. But it is still playable. When I try to run 7 my CPU goes to 98 to 100% usage and my RAM is at 75%. These values I can see on my g-13 keyboard not sure what my video cards are doing. If they do load (normaly system crashes) it is at 1-2 fps and is Totaly unplayable. I have tried stacked with a dxnothing screen or one main screen with small windows on the second monitor and verious other layouts nothing seams to help. From what i have seen around the net my system should beable to handle this many accounts especialy on lowest video settings. I'm at a loss and not sure what to do to get it to function similarly to what other players can run with a equil or lesser system. Any ideas are greatly appreciated

Are you sharing the load around your cores - the Performance tab on each slot of the character set - which is where you limit the FPS, too (I use 30 foreground, 15 background).

What OS are you on?
I'm Win7-64, so not limited to 4GB RAM.

Yes my cores are shared evenly. For my 7 man setup my cores are:
Main char: 1-2
Char 2: 3-4
Char 3: 5-6
Char 4: 7-8
Char 5: 3-4
Char 6: 5-6
Char 7: 7-8

My 5 man setup is cores 1 and 2 are dedicated to my main account while the rest is round robin config using the other 3 physical and virtual cores.
I'm using window 7 64bit home edition OS.

Turn the gfx settings down - AA, shadows. Have to use a virtual settings file for your main window if you want that one to have pretty gfx.

Something I noticed that helped a lot when I was running 6 was running all the eve processes at idle priority. That plus lower graphics settings on all but my "main" ship and dropping the resolution (which you seem to have done already) worked pretty good.

How do I place them in idol priority? And can I do this for the slaves but leave my main char normal or increase it's priority? Wiping my puter atm and making a totaly new start on a fresh install to rule out other potential causes.

I personally use Process Lasso to dynamically control priority/affinity on things. There are others that can do this for you.

Also, "idol" priority...LMAO! :D

LOL nice catch on my auto corrected smart phone screw up hehe.

So this is not something I can set using task manager? I need anouther program to do this? As I said not the greatest with software. Atm all I have is windows 7 Eve online and isboxer / innerspace installed. What other programs should I get to help troubleshoot / monitor performance to maximize my gaming experience?

Double-check the gfx settings on every single one of the windows, launch them individually from isboxer. I'm guessing they are all using their own virtual file and a few may still have high gfx settings. Also, disable sound on any clients you think you won't need sound on.

Try launching multiple Eves without isboxer to rule out any isboxer configuration problem.

So this is not something I can set using task manager? I need anouther program to do this? No, not at all. You can do it with Task Manager. Right-click the process -> Set Priority -> Low. Ditto with Affinity (see other threads around here for setting correct affinity for your particular CPU.
