I'm looking to 10-box in the near future.
And will most likely run two teams per faction.

I currently have nine sets of five-box teams, on my existing five accounts.
Short term, I'll level my existing teams (who will be part of the four 10-box teams).
I need to call billing, and have them merge my five existing accounts onto a single B.Net; the B.Net wide perks are starting to outweigh any advantage of separate B.Nets for each account.

After that, it will be RAF with five new accounts.
Likely something like [A-E (Existing) and F-J (New)]:
B > F
F > G > H
F > I > J
That will get the RAF rocket (B.Net wide) for my original five accounts (B.Net A) as well as on the new accounts.
Transfer a booster to "F" from each faction.

I'll transfer my 5x Paladin team, to the new accounts...
They'll be able to join my 1x Pally / 4x Death Knight team down the road, and will provide the new accounts with B.Net wide achievements and mounts, like Vial of the Sands.

My focus will remain battleground and world (enemy city) pvp.

Team A
1x Holy Paladin, 5x Retribution Paladins, 1x Blood/Unholy Death Knight, 3x Unholy Death Knights.
- This is a simple merger, of two teams that both look to be dominant in battlegrounds; neither team relies on stealth.
- The 1x Blood is a tank option, although I'll likely run 4x DPS on the DK's mostly.
- With the greatly reduced damage on Howling Blast, leaning towards Unholy for the DK's.
- With the "Battle Healer" glyph on the Rets (30% of damage dealt, heals the most hurt nearby ally, but cannot self heal), I don't think the team needs a second dedicated healer... depending how well that works, there is the option for 6x Rets, although I like having a non-swarming character to direct the IWT/CTM carnage.
- Rets had to have names to fit in with Cuddles, Huggles, Kisses, Tickles and Snuggles... I took their names on Magtheridon, which forced me to pick new names on the transfer. They are: Fondles, Nibbles, Wedgies, Spanker and Waggles.

Pally/DK's are 85th while the Rets are 68th.

Team B
6x Demonology Warlocks, 1x Discipline Priest, 3x Restoration Druids.
- Have created Trolls, as they can be Druids, Priests and Warlocks, and I like having everyone on a team being the same race/appearance. I have the names: Anthrax, Asthama, Cancer, Cholera, Diphtheria, Ebola, Malaria, Plague, Polia and Rabies saved (with a circumflex on the "a").
- Probably drive with the Priest (Mass Dispel), who Atonement heals via Smite/HolyFire/Penance on enemies, and heal with the Druids, via Grid Regions; DPS with the Warlocks.
- 3x Soul Stones to the Druids, with an extra Soul Stone each; 3x Battle Rez's from those Druids.
- Symbiosis gets the Druids: Demonic Circle - Teleport and gives three of the Warlocks: Rejuvenation (but with a 10 second cooldown).

Brand new team.

Team C
10x Feral Druids
- Possibly go with 1x Guardian, for bosses in AV/IoC.
- Stealth, great mobility, Ravage opener, fast with snare/root breaks, great single target DPS with Berserk and Incarnation for burst, with an immunity breaker (top choice is Symbiosis on a Warrior, for Shattering Blows) or immunity effect (Symbiosis on a Paladin for Divine Shield).
- I'd imagine 10x Nature's Swiftness (150% effective Healing Touch) per minute (without dropping form) and 10x Nature's Vigil to counteract opposing burst... should cover healing... but there is the option for some Restoration Druids in the mix.
- Boomkin is also an option if Feral doesn't play nicely, thanks to Glyph of the Moonbeast (can Rejuvenation, Healing Touch, Rebirth and Tranquility... while in Boomkin form)...

Existing Druids are 85th, have the option for a 6th Druid @80th (if the Shaman team doesn't include her); new Druids haven't been created.

Team D
6-10x Elemental Shaman & 0-4x Something...
- I currently have a Balance/Guardian Druid with my 4x Shamans... that gets the option of a Tank, but there is a 5th shaman available.
- With the removal of Earth & Moon (5% increased spell damage taken by the target), the Druid provides Mass Entanglement + Solar Beam, Ursol's Vortex, Battle Rez and Mark of the Wild. Symbiosis to an Elemental Shaman is a second Solar Beam... but then I have to manage Eclipses...
- There is a team of 5x Discipline Priests at 81st, but I like the idea of more Shamans on the team.
- Choices are:
a) 10x Elemental Shaman
b) Include 1x Balance/Guardian Druid
c) Include 3x Discipline Priests for Atonement healing via Smite/Holy Fire/Penance...

5x Shaman at 80th, 1x Druid at 80th, 5x Disc Priests at 81st.

I too am about to start 10-boxing. I currently have 7 accounts and about to RaF the remaining 3, and in three months when the RaF link expires I will start 10-boxing.

I look forward to continue reading about your progress. I am the opposite of you though, as I do not PvP.

I will let you know now, Atonement healing with priests doesn't work very well past lvl 85 in instances. You will run OOM too fast and unless you way outgear the dungeon, many bosses will outlast your DPS. Not sure about in PvP, but I think the same would be true. Plus, the atonement range is pretty short from where your target is. Won't be very good with Shaman I don't think. You wont heal much unless there is Melee on you, and if there is, you have big problems lol.

My priests are great, but they don't work for what I was hoping :)

they nerfed the shit out of disc priests damage. Shadows pretty lackluster as well with some of the changes.

I've lost a number of AVs, where my side was well ahead but did not have a tank option.
An undefended Galv/Belinda shouldn't be an issue with 10 characters, even early in an expansion.
Drek/Vandar, with two towers/bunkers down and other players for support, will likely still require a dedicated tank + healer.

Team A: Blood DK & Holy Paladin, with 5x Battle Healer Rets in the mix.
Team B: Glyph of Demon Hunting (http://www.wowhead.com/spell=64318) on some warlocks & 3x Healers.
Team C: Heart of the Wild (http://www.wowhead.com/spell=108288) on some druids, plus the above listed Feral options.
Team D: Options...

Team D
a) 8x Elemental Shaman, plus Druid Tank (Guardian or Heart of the Wild - Boomkin) & Priest Healer (Mass Dispel).
b) 9x Shaman (some Resto), plus the Druid Tank.
c) 10x Shaman (some Resto), with 10x Fire/Earth Elementals...

How well/poorly do 10x Earth Elementals fare, against Drek/Vandar (or the IoC Generals), especially early in an expansion?
Would a Druid (Guardian in 5.0/5.1; Boomkin with Heart of the Wild in 5.2/5.3) be a better option?
Although a Resto Shaman can heal as well, is Mass Dispel worth enough to include a Priest on the team?

PvP - 1Disc Priest, 2Resto Druids, 7 Frost DK's.

PvE -
Tanks
Guardian Druid
Plate tank (doesn't matter which)

Heals
Holy Paladin
Disc Priest
Resto Druid

DPS
Warlock
Mage
Hunter
Shaman
Druid

This gives you the best spread of armor types, weapons and tier tokens, so you're not wasting drops. All of your DPS is ranged. One of your tanks can respec to range DPS or heals for single tank fights. You have all the debuffs and buffs.

I don't see the point of 10boxing PvP, but this thread makes me want to buy 5 more accounts and give 10boxing raids a try.

I can't comment on group compositions, but I would not hesitate merging your accounts, the shared achievements, mounts, pets is great. I'm not sure I've hit a downside... yet to merging all accounts under one B.net. I just really like that it doesn't matter which toon I'm on... if I have a chance at an achievement I can just do it... before it was ... well I should log in this toon because that toon has the most or is closest to the meta...

Hi Ualaa,
been thinking about coming back and 10boxing as well (have 7 inactive). I was thinking something similar.
4 DK (prob 4frost or 1blood 3frost)
1 Holy Paladin
1 Priest (healing)
3 Ele Shaman
1 Resto Druid

While I was running 7 (4dps 3healers), I built it for outlasting the constant rezerg in TB. Yes, your roll in murder everyone, clear the area (easy part). The hard part is keeping the area once they have all rerezed. With 3 healers, I could mostly do just that.

I do like the idea of a swarm though. Just going all melee except your healer main.

question: IIRC, 8 accounts on a ballet.net? So did you move one of your good toons to another new account for mounts and achivs?

Ualaa

I actually merged all five accounts, from their own B.Nets to a single B.Net (for a while there, I was thinking of 8-boxing as an option).
In retrospect, it might have been a good idea to move four of them and leave one on its own B.Net.
And then add accounts, such that there are five on each B.Net.

I should call billing and see if I can move one of the accounts.
If not, then most likely I'd go with 8+2.

Not including healers, I think for PvP it is better to either have everyone IWT/in-melee or everyone ranged.
Not saying a 4x DK (melee) + 3x Elemental (ranged) + heals won't work...

The top four teams, were the ones I was most interested in trying... based on what had been revealed from beta and the wowhead stuff.
The Monks & Mages, are for getting the most out of RAF; already have Priests & Hunters, which could be transferred if I really wanted those.
Not that interested in boxing Warriors or Rogues... hopefully that doesn't come back to bite me, as I leveled Paladins and Druids without RAF (because I was fairly sure I wouldn't want to box those, during the first round of RAF).

If your accounts have been inactive long enough, consider the Scroll of Resurrection.
That gets you a character transfer (server and/or faction) or a new toon (at 80th) on the server of the character giving the resurrection.
Playing with other boxers really rocks; <The Zerg> play on Magtheridon-US (PvP).

Hi Ualaa,
been thinking about coming back and 10boxing

If your goal is to 10box raid content (I can't see any other reason to 10box), I'd advise against any melee DPS at all. Ranged characters can still stand in melee range when necessary, but having all ranged gives you much more flexibility in terms of positioning and avoiding cleave deaths, etc.

If I were 10boxing, and looking for a fun comp, I'd seriously consider boomies/resto druids. You can wild charge to your 'shrooms.

On each druid, drop a 'shroom and set it to focus. Set up a hotkey to wild charge to focus (different hotkey one each druid) and the other druids to charge to that druid. I imagine having a raid-wide teleport to any of 10 locations with a 15 second cooldown would make positioning and avoiding damage nearly trivial.

I have no interest in the PvE aspect of the game, unless you count killing city bosses (on a PvP server) and dozens of opposing faction players as a PvE event.

10-Boxing opens 10-man Rated Battlegrounds.
The same as it opens 10-man Raid Content.

10-Boxing is a lot more power, in PvP.
It is a deterrent against being ganked, or someone making the attempt... more so than five.

Obviously 10-box is for 40-man battlegrounds or opposing cities; don't think you could do that well in 15-man BG's but might do well in WSG (or anywhere else where there is only one objective to guard).

Ultimately, it comes down to what you find fun.

No interest in the PVE element??

Must be a Vancouver thing : )

Is it more power, though? You'll be able to kill people faster, but you'll lose far more games than you'll win taking up 10/10 or 10/15 slots in a BG, never mind rated BG's. The 15+ slot BG's aren't in the rated queues (for good reason - you can hardly call AV PvP).

10boxing PvE content seems like it'd be a fun challenge, but there's just no real PvP format in WoW benefits 10 more than 5.

My three favorite PvP activities are:
a) Hold something in their city;
b) Rath Strat, AV (resource win, via choke points and/or farming their graveyard); and
c) Turtle Domination, IoC (farming them at our General).

Ten is definitely more power than five.
And in venues of 40's or unlimited numbers, it's not going to hurt my side having that.
Plus having ten, does not preclude me from using half the team.

I personally was purely into PvE for Classic+Burning Crusade.
And very early WotLK switched entirely to PvP as my focus.
Nothing says I won't switch to PvE for the challenge, at some point.

I plan on setting up IS Boxer with three profiles per team.
Or characters sets, is a better word.
First five, second five, and all ten.
Then can run any team, either way with the same hotkeys.
