I've read in a few spots where the Blizzard Devs insure that the Challenge mode dungeons will be on par in difficulty with the hardest Heroic Burning Crusade 5-mans.

Which ones are they talking about? I'll admit I recall avoiding Shattered Halls like the plague. Back then, before Dungeon-finder... it was all pugs for the Heroic Dailies... ShattH days were quiet :P MT was tough, I compare that to HoR... sort of an end-game heroic, scaled up in difficulty.

The only other one I can think of as being kind of scary was Sethek Halls. First boss with the 2 waves of elementals... mind control totem on those first couple of packs... you knew early if your pug was going to be disbanding.

So will the real challenge be rather then just finishing them, it will be finishing them in a fast time? New ZG is a bigger PIA then those two BC heroics ever were? What am I forgetting? Or am I just a big baby when it comes to Troll based heroics :)

The real question, are they Multiboxable... better question how multiboxable will they be... lots of skilled peeps on this board so I'm guessing there will be a few who do them, but sheer numbers wise I think lots more people had success with Wotlk heroics then Cata. I'm quite anxious to find out how they are.

Lol, those damn totems.

Its impossible to understand what the dev folk and qa believe are difficult and what is fun.

I would expect stronger and smarter heals, patrols, annoying run in fear/call for help, they dont stop coming until x is dead, you need to kill them within x seconds, untauntable, the mobs smart crowd control, the instance annoyingly keeps you in combat.

The challenge stuff will be able time, so think 45min run, avoid mobs not leeroy mobs, short term group splits.

I'm not sure how they made the challenge modes, but I was under the impression that they were the same instance with just a few bells added on and the fact that you get your gear down leveled to i465. Also if your hit isn't high enough to raid then it will be low in challenge modes too.

Apparently with Challenge Mode instances (which are just a harder version of the Heroic instance) there is no limit on the number of times you can run them in a day (though with Dungeon Finder this isn't really a big deal anymore for peeps just doing heroics). So it's an option for the hardcore peeps to gear up even faster. Of course the gear won't help them in the Challenge mode dungeon, it gets them raid ready faster. Sort of 'billed' as a compromise between people who hate easy heroics and Raid-finder and those who like/need them.

I'm very excited for this. Gives us 5-man multiboxers something to strive for and promotes a little competition.

Challenge mode dungeon as they do not have a cool down they do not drop gear as such as well only valor at the end and with a cap and so many ways to get valor. Well put it this way 5 warlocks can not even kill trash in them :D you need a good tank/healer/dps and real pve gear. when Hc's pvp gear 5 locks can do trash and a few bosses i tryed,

something to work on though. for a mixxed pve group
