Hello all

I bought keyclone a few days ago and started dualboxing. I use a single computer with two monitors.

Whenever I press W to move forward, one character starts moving forward, and then a second later, the other one does. Also, when I press A or D to turn, one character would go 180 degrees while the other one might go only 120°. I'm used to playing with 200-300 ms, but I don't think that's the case.

Any suggestions?

Actually thats just the game.

When i turn my main char, it takes about a second before the other 4 do, however, would i switch to the 2nd char, the first one would do the same, its just blizzards way of dealing with lag.

Ps, anyone else watching u will just see 2 chars moving at the same time, not after each other.

But it still prevents me from multiboxing "properly."

I mean, if I run straight forward and then keyboard turn, the two characters tend to end up at different locations.

You need to have all of you alt characters on /follow to a "main" character... thats just how multiboxing works. You cannot just move all the characters and hope that they end up in the same place, they will stray from eachother quickly.

I just started last night myself and noticed this aswell...

I have one computer running two copies of WoW. I made 2 Dwarf Hunters and logged into the game. Opened KeyClone and started running around. I quickly found that the second instance of WoW would get out of sync with the first (as the OP said, the 1st character might turn 120°the other only turns 100°) so then when I run forward again, the second guy is running off in a completely different direction.

Macro it to a key thats close by... I use the big fat '0' key on the keypad. I hit it often.

I'm guessing when people have said they press a couple of buttons to make their team strafe out from the main it's not meant for them to stay in that position while playing?

For other macros, I highly suggest reading through the macro/addon forums, specifically this sticky:
The Macro Codex ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=1220')

Hi Tyrazor and jacquard... welcome to the forums!

the keys are sent simultaneously (<1ms) to all wow windows. if the clone on your main's screen looks like he is 'lagging' and is not acting exactly at the same time... this is called 'animation latency'. the latency of the command to go to the server then route down to the other wow to be rendered.

to see the effect... put both windows next to each other and position your characters in front of each other. hit spacebar to jump. if you look at your main, you will see your clone still on the ground even though your main is almost at the top of his jump... THEN then clone starts to jump.

now try this... stare right between both windows... so you can see both screens in your peripheral vision. hit the spacebar. you will see movement in BOTH screens at the EXACT same time. that is the moment the command to move your character up in the air is sent to the server... then routed to all nearby characters... in this case, your main.

animation latency is about 2 times your normal latency.
---

as for moving your characters with the keyboard... that's close to impossible. the reason is due to the 'heading' each character is on being different... no matter how close you think you have it.. they will always be off by at least 0.05 degrees... and that is enough to get them all out of sync given a few movements.

i hope that helps clear up any confusion

I dunno if this will help but this was happening to me in the very beginning (the chars heading off in different directions).
The /follow macro was set up properly but I was passing the movement keys to other chars. I added the movement keys to the Do Not Pass list and wola!, they /follow'd nicely.

I'm not sure if this is the same thing or not but when I read "they run off in directions", it reminded me of the problem I had. I'd hit follow macro, they'd start following, I'd hit auto-run, then left turn then right turn and watched all 3 of my chars run off in different directions, 1 drowned and 1 ended up on top of a mountain.

I hope this helps and if not, Hey about those Red Sox!

Yeah do not pass is your friend.

I remember when I first fired it up on EQ2 had six clients running and someone asked me a question in /1 I then replied....and in my horror noticed all six toons replied. needless to say its one of those things you do once...maybe twice.

Shoot, i would love to answer with all 5 of my toons. Do-not-pass is a godsend, but I wish that there was a way to toggle it... all my movement keys are on that list.

In reply to my own post... SWEET JESUS! I did a search for Do Not Pass Toggle and sure enough it got added in an earlier version. I totally missed it!

Not only is there a toggle but there's a "bug" which can be a "feature" too...Keyclone STILL passes keys if modifiers are held down; I have wsad, e q and r on DNP; without toggling constantly or deleting any of those, I am able to /dance on all 3 alts anytime I want. How? Shift. /DANCE is not the same as /dance, the latter comes out as /nc, the former is passed to all alts as /DANCE ;) MUCH easier than a toggle if you don't mind caps(Which only takes a simple capslock smack to fix); it's one bug I hope ISNT fixed because it's actually helpful
