Ohoy.

I was browsing the net elsewhere and saw people buying Battle Chests for 5 eur from Battle.net. However the links does not work for everyone, but if they work on you, it doesn't matter if you're EU or US.

I replaced http's with hxxp's so you can see these really are battle.net-links, and not phising ones.

hxxp://enus.nydus.battle.net/WOW/enUS/client/upgrade-offer/PROMO1?accountRegion=US&accountName=
hxxp://battle.net/account/management/upgrade-wow.html?promo=classicFS5dol

The thing is, these links contain some promo codes, and they lead to Battle.net login, and should allow to make cheaper purchases.

Here's the picture for proof from another site
hxxp://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2012/35/1346423706-sans-titre-1.jpg

I personally did not try this, but both links seems to be valid what I can tell from the comments.

With the "upgrade-wow.html?promo=classicFS5dol" I get this... but it doesn't mention WOTLK, the image shows class+BC

Without it I get this.

enus.nydus.

That part worries me as I have never seen that on a blizzard URL. Hmm.

Aye I was wondering that as well, but it's quite common url to battle.net, used in mmo-champion for client downloads, and d3 forums etc. Also I trust the *.battle.net ;)

enus.nydus = en_US and I'm guessing nydus is a specific server or load balancer or what have you that is named Nydus (http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Nydus_worm).

Anyway, wasn't this a temporary offer?

Yeah I think it was temporary offer, but the links still work for some users, probably by accident. That's why I posted this if someone wants to try the "expired" offer ;)

It still works for my account using this link for 5 EUR, if you try to upgrade it without the link it costs 14,99 EUR ;-)
