Just an FYI, but Recount was basically making my game unplayable. If you're experiencing issues, then look to your out of date addons (Jamba is not causing any issues for me).

This isn't directed at anyone in particular, but this should obvious for anyone who has played world of warcraft for more than a single patch, and especially true when an expansion hits. The addon API changes every expansion and sometimes with an expansion's content patches. Almost all addons that execute some sort of fairly complex code are likely to be affected and any combat addon that needs to read the combat log (DPS meters, scrolling combat text, etc.) is going to, most likely, be completely broken.

The numerous UI & Macro forums across the internet for World of Warcraft are flooded with people who just don't understand that re-enabling all of your addons that worked last week are supposed to magically work after 5.0.4.

I've played since release (with numerous breaks), don't consider myself dumb, and it still took me a little bit to realize Recount would basically make the game unplayable if it wasn't disabled. This is the first time that I've played through an expansion (usually quit before and join later into it) and I'm sure I'm not alone.

Not calling you dumb, but I've been hit hard before with combat log mods breaking before; so, I do know first hand that when they break they can heavily affect the client's FPS.

But it's definitely good practice to check something simple like addons before you start tearing apart your system or waiting on hold for 5 hours to speak with a Blizzard rep while they tell you, "Please turn off all of your addons and let's see if the problem goes away." :)

I am with Owltoid on this. Thanks for the heads up. I ALMOST fork out all money made from Diablo to upgrade PC lol. I took a long break from 5 boxing. Now after 5.0.4 , my fps in org is like 12. After disable all add-ons, it went back to 50.

recount breaks every patch and makes people lag every patch, it was the first addon i updated. We should make a sticky thread solely about recount
