I get so much crap from ill informed players just out questing and can only imagine what it would be like in a BG. I’m really looking forward to hitting AV when my boys are big enough and I guess I’m just trying to get mentally prepared for the abuse…

Directed to our experienced dual-boxing brothers and sisters, how much flack to you get when playing in the BGs?

Depends on the BG and how many you box; 2-3boxers seem to get little attention(few people gave 2 shits about me in AV except for enemy mages who spam AE as if that's gonna kill me faster than a pom pyro/fireblast would); 4-5 boxers show up on their radars better and are more noticeable than a couple of boomkins near each other are ;p There's a few screenshots in the "I love..." thread + screenshots forum threads(like "I HERD U GUYS R BOTS" thread) that show some AV reactions to "us"; personally? I've had noone make any comments, but I'm also a tri-boxer and avoid WSG like the plague even when alone and rarely bother with AB because the alliance is so shit-poor-terribad at it, plus the limited slots...AV's fun though

If you're a 5 boxer, and you're tearing shit up in AV... I don't think your teammates will have much of a problem with it. I've only gone out to 3-4 AV's, but most people think it rocks.

The biggest QQing you'll hear is from the opposite faction. You have a better chance of a forum post, or having them create a lvl 1 alt on your server just to harass you.

Good thing the opposing faction can't talk to you in game :)

Eteocles yells: [Common] Y o u Lo ve Me LO Lo
Eteocles blushes.
Eteocles grins wickedly.
Xzin yells: [Orcish] L O L NO
Xzin spits on Eteocles.
Yzin makes a rude gesture at Eteocles.
Eteocles yells: [Common] Me Bur y Y o u BUR
Eteocles cackles maniacally at the situation.

We can indeed talk to each other ingame to some extent ;)

Depends on what BG you are doing. AV, no one really notices that much. AB/EotS, people will point fingers if you lose. WSG, you're taking up half the team, but I was amazed at how few comments I got when I was farming tokens there.

As of now, AV is the only one I have any desire for. I think WSG & AB would be just a nightmare based on my shammy/3 hunter setup.

There's definitely a herd mentality. I either get

a.) Lots of "wow", "awesome", "great", etc...
b.) One person starting off with negativity followed by several other people who follow me around and dogpile on the "reported", "hacker", "lamer" stuff.

It's about 95% a.) and only 5% b.), though!

There are sour apples, for sure. Suvega and I got chain-reported AFK and the GMs could do nothing about it but to tell us that we should get into combat. We had the GMs investigate them for verbal harassment, at least.

Build up your rep on your battleground and people will start defending you. :)

Pfft Zin you can't cannibalize what isn't dead, or WHILE dead ;) It wouldn't be 3v5...it'd be at least 21v5 or 21v10...like so ;D ('http://home.comcast.net/~gotnks2/WoW/21vsBaln.jpg'); toss in some regrowths and staggered tranquilities and s'all good, yo

Course, we'll never know BECAUSE YOU DON'T PLAY ANYMORE, so neener. :P

Also yea, the finger-pointing-due-to-losses is another reason I Avoid non-AV BGs...that and WSG sucks more ass than Gabe Newell sitting on a vacuum nozzle

I've caught flak a few times in AV running 4 Shaman but usually once they see all of my toons at the top of the leaderboard they let alone. It's not the flak that bothers me though, it's...

People who follow me around and watch! It's flattering at first but when you're farming up 250k honor and almost a hundred of each mark, you want people to *DO* something in a BG other than follow you around going "ZOMG LOLOLOLOLOL". Sigh.

Make a macro on all 5 chars that says: /bg Worry less about US and more about the INCOMING HORDE/ALLIANCE ABOUT TO MAUL YOUR ASS.

You'd think with all the posts and the fact of how old it is people wouldn't be so dumbstruck or awe-gazing at multi-boxers nowadays, sheesh lol

More often than not my 2 boxing goes unnoticed, but I do tend to sit in towers in AV and guard til' it burns.

People welcome it when they're in need and bash it when not.

When I did BGs I just turned off BG chat on my main. I did look at the chat on my clone after a few games and people were defending me that I wasn't a bot :)

The more AV you play and the better you get at it the bigger your fanbase will grow. I've done several hundred AV matches now and I dont even have to defend myself anymore.

If you do good, your team mates will defend you... but the opposing faction will complain.
If you do bad, your team mates will hate having you there... but the opposing faction will love the free HK.

Either way... somebody will hate you... but we will always love ya'

I started doing AV's last weekend, being the AV honour weekend. :)

Initially there were a lot of WTF's, OMG HAX, etc etc. But after a while with people seeing me rip shit at Bal & flags, peoples reactions became a LOT better. Finishing around the top of the killboards definitely helps too.

My advice - don't argue with people that try to put you down. Let your actions do the talking...then when people try and put you down, others will jump in and tell them to STFU.

Cheers,

Stealthy
