Needing a new keyboard, and figured why not a new mouse at the same time. So which to get?

I don't know about keyboards, but the mouse of choice right now is the G600 (http://www.logitech.com/en-us/gaming/mice-keyboard-combos/g600-mmo-gaming-mouse).

I believe the equivalent keyboard would be one of the G15 through the G19 models. I am currently using the G15.

Have to be careful though because the keyboard allows for "auto" and that would be botting and get you in trouble.

Move into the future and back into the past at the same time -- Get a mechanical keyboard.

Found this to be quite interesting. Probably a bit to pricy atm, and don't know if there are any with the functionality of the gaming keyboards out there, but an intriguing idea nonetheless.

I first bought the BlackWidow Ultimate over a year ago when it just released. Shortly after that, my roommate bought a non-Ultimate edition (he didn't really need keys with backlit LEDs) after he used mine. Then I convinced Kicksome to buy an Ultimate edition, which he had to later replace with a Stealth edition because he couldn't play games and talk on the phone at the same time. ;) Then, a few months ago, Svpernova tells me he wants to buy one.

I'm not trying to tell you to buy the Razer BlackWidow keyboard, I'm trying to tell you to try out a mechanical keyboard if you can afford it because it's doubtful you'll regret it. You can find more information and reviews on many keyboards here:

They seem like the base functionality is better than normal keyboards, and the ones with added functionality should be even better. definitely up my alley.

This is my keyboard

http://www.daskeyboard.com/blog/

It's fucking badass and worth every penny. If you don't like loud clicking then get the silent one. There is also one without lettering on the keys. It's supposed to make you a better player so you aren't always staring at your keyboard. I stopped using that one, because I have some keys that are once in a day use and it was kind of annoying to search for it. I think for any other games besides MMOs it would be super slick and yes it did make me a better typer. :)

As for mouse, I like the razer that only has 7 buttons... not that monstrosity with like 20, fuck that noise. It was hard to hit the buttons.

edit: also as an aside: NEVER ever under any circumstances by the apple magic mouse for your MacPro laptop or whatever. I have an apple because my GF just HAD to have one, so now I use it on business trips to single box. The magic mouse will make you throw your laptop out the window if you try to use it for gaming. Web browsing? Great.

I never use my keyboard for gaming not after i got my self a g13 (http://www.logitech.com/en-us/keyboards/keyboards/g13-advanced-gameboard)
now i just have a small Logitech keyboard for typing

But keyboards i have always wanted to try was the Wolfking keyboards (http://wolfking.com.ua/) , but i never got to the point of ordering one, not after i got my gamepad

But if i should pick a "keyboard" today for gaming i would still pick up a G13 and use that, i simply love it

Mechanical keyboards are nice if you play more than just WoW :P
The Razer Blackwidow ultimate is a very nice keyboard to get started with, if you are spr serious later on, you can move on to more 'bettererer' (expensive, specialized) mechanical keyboard.

Mice on the other hand are a personal thing. Do you move the mouse with your fingers? your palm? do you have big hands? is it just going to be for WoW? etc etc.

This is the first time I see that new Logitech mouse. I bought a naga about 3 months ago and although i like it alot better than the old logitech mouse I had, there are a few things that could have easily been better. I am liking the look of the raised, separate buttons on the new logitech mouse. For me that is a much better selling point than the naga's.

thinking of grabbing a razer kb and the naga, its got enough buttons for me and its one stop shopping. Hows the naga stack up to other mice in that price range?

The Naga is great, except for Synapse, which I don't think you can avoid with any of the newer versions and has been nothing but a headache (http://genus-industri.us/wp/2012/02/28/razer-synapse/) to a lot of people.

I'd seriously consider the Logitech G600 instead. It's got tons of buttons, plus the mouse has tilt, which the Naga doesn't. Plus it has the GShift button. And it doesn't use Synapse.

Ok tiger direct has the blackwidow ultimate battlefield 3 edition for $40 off, and newegg has the g600 with free shipping $75, so thats what i'm going with. Thank you all so much for the help with deciding what is the best for these 2 upgrades.

Got the G600, and picked up the blackwidow ultimate (not sure what edition it was, has graffics from some game) and must say I like them so far. The keyboard is really nice, always get my keystrokes, i actually like the sound, and the customization ability is going to be great as soon as I get it all figured out. The mouse i like, I have my formation key on the side and can drop off my slaves really easily. also need to customize it more, but that'll come as I decide I need more functionality.
