View Full Version : Anyone tried dual-boxing Secret World?

I have been unsuccessfully trying to dual-box Secret World using both key-clone and isboxer/inner space. Key-clone seem to have the same issue as lotro, that a window need to have focus in order to receive input. Isboxer was able to load both accounts the first time I tried, then while setting up macros etc, one window suddenly froze and I have been unable to login through innerspace to TSW ever since. Any ideas as to how to fix either or is there another tool that works?

Got it working again by resetting window layouts and exporting. Works fairly ok, can target and assist, however the limited amount of action buttons makes it really sub-par to have different classes, unless same action types are used in the same slots with same build up counters. Given the different build-up system for various skills I think it will be difficult to do this with any other character combo than clones. TSW is a great game, however the limited amount of action slots is really clunky. Wished they had gone the way of lotro or wow which makes much easier to place different actions in different slots to be able to use them from just one toon. Given todays micro purchase systems, I am sure there will be an option to buy action bars from the store later on... Like buying a car without doors or wheels, that you have to purchase separately...

There are already a few mods out for TSW I am sure they will make a action bar one soon.

Sorry for the slow reply; I didn't start playing for a week or two after you mentioned this.
I have one account, and am picking up a second. I think having a pocket healer would be great for Signet farming (Or an AoE DPSer while I healtank)
Right now I'm in the process of copying my TSW directory. Only kind of walking through the whole ISBoxer setup while I wait for tonight's ultra-slow patch to download.
But if I was to, for instance, run my main as a healtank could lay out like this:
Actives
1. (Fist Tier 2) - Cauterize
2. (Fist Tier 2) - Surgical Steel
3. (Fist Tier 2) - Empathy
4. (Fist Tier 2) - Creature Comfort
5. (Turbulence) - Stoicism {E}
6. (Chaos Tier 1) - Illusion
7. (Chaos Tier 2) - Smoke and Mirrors
Passives
1. (Fist Tier 2) - Hot Iron
2. (Fist Tier 2) - Making Amends
3. (Fist Tier 2) - Healing Sparks
4. (Fist Tier 2) - Empowerment {E}
5. (Turbulence) - Agitator
6. (Chaos Tier 2) - Contradiction
7. (Fist Tier 2) - Glimmer of Hope
Then run my (brand new) alt as DPS with like blade/chaos or blade/AR, for the crazy AoE. I could line up buttons 1-4 with 1 (and maybe 2) Being blade builders, and 3/4 being blade/other consumers. 5/6/7 would probably be Impairs or something (since they'll coincide with the healtank's 'oh shit' powers).
If not that? Then I could always just have have buttons 1-7 spam buttons 1-3 to the alt screen, if I really wanted to just run a pocket healer. Looking forward to trying this, but I'm known for failing at the simplest of ISBoxer tasks (It didn't take me a whole hour to figure out how to add TSW as a game to the pulldowns in the wizard)

It took a few nights, but I'm there. I am running two clones (one's my old main, the other is new) through all of the Solomon Islands stuff.
The build I'm using most of the time can be found here: http://wordpress.tswguides.com/my-first-60-aoe-and-survival-healing-with-bladear/
I like it because you can do 99% of your DPS and self-healing without worrying about which direction you're facing. I like prancing through the beaches of zombies and Draugs, twirling my blades, and looking back to see a beach full of loot. This build would conceivably work with any number of characters while questing.
Movement: I just made a copy of the old FTL DPS set of keybinds, copied that to my TSW character set. Deleted W A S D and all of the movement keys (you don't really need those, with follow being persistent and all) and, admittedly, my slave gets caught in a lot of AoE. The /follow thing is a pain, because I can't get a hotkeystring to work, so I end up manually going over to the other window and typing /fo and hitting tab to finish the command. I also set it so when I hit F1 it'll send an F1 to my main window, F2 to the slave window. When I hit F2, it sends F2 to the main window, F1 to the slave window. That way, if I'm duoing, it'll always have both target the same person. This makes the assist command great, and also if I actually need to worry about healing (like farming a nightmare mob) I can just have both characters spam Anima shot while targetting the one in need.
Sharing quests is faster than actually getting the quest on the slave. Many quest objectives update for both windows (Even if the quest window is "Go get a can of gas", but you have to constantly watch because some don't.
That's it so far. I'm off to approach Egypt.

I was playing when it came out and then got sidetracked but would like to start dual boxing.
May have to try Mooni's setup and see how it goes.
Grondir: are you multi boxing SW?

Only solo at the moment. Seems ok but not sure how easy it would be with multiple toons
