Ran Wizard for new group, wiped out the XML file completely...

So, I posted this in the chat last night, didnt get a reply.. however, I should note it was VERY late at night... I didnt really expect anyone to be awake on the East Coast - US. Below is a much more detailed analysis.

Been operating ISBoxer for quite a while now. No expert, yet I do know my way around fairly well.

The setup:

Decided to create a new team, start from scratch kinda team.
Loaded a regular version of WoW (I.e. not launched by InnerSpace), created (1) new character on (3) separate accounts.
Closed wow.
Opened ISBoxer, Started InnerSpace.
Checked each for updates. (I do this pretty regularly)
Ran the new setup wizard, selected the members, named the team, display layout, jamba auto settings, done, Save, Export to InnerSpace.
Launch.

So, theres my new team, all setup and ready to go... but I notice that the "ALT+~" that I set up a long time ago for IWT wasnt working. Curious, since the same config file for wow was used (verified on the front page of ISBoxer).

The Problem:

As I closed all the InnerSpace WoW Windows, only ISBoxer is open, I notice the CharacterSet only showed the new recent one I made from the wizard.

Worried I lost the data of ALL the other CharacterSets, KeyMaps, etc from moments ago, I chose, File, Open, and located the ISBoxerToolkitProfile.LastExported.WML file, and opened it.
I was stunned when I saw nothing happened. I was still left with the same screen Im looking at which has the single CharacterSet I just moments ago, created.


The Solution:

I do save my XML files from time to time, unfortunately, I didnt have one recent enough which had *ALL* my latest groups and keymaps, however Im using this opportunity to recreate, and streamline settings.


The Question:

Why / How did this happen? Can I expect this to happen again?

I can't answer your ISBoxer question, but colors were removed because people changing the font styles and colors for their entire posts is becoming far too common and it is really distracting, not to mention is impacts things like the fonts in quotes.

They're apparently back now because the removal seems to be retroactive, screwing up the fonts for guides and the like, but general consensus seems to be they should be used for emphasis only, not to make entire posts distinctive.

This happened to me too. I kept hearing a beep when hitting my IWT key, and was thinking wtf is this? Loaded my last settings file, everything was there, thankfully.

thats great. Wish that'd worked for me. :/ I havent resolved this yet still either. Im slowly rebuilding the file.

I use ghetto version control on my setups. Every time I run the wizard or do anything with the maps or macros, I increment the filename, save it as a new file and THEN do the mods.

ugh_5druids_magtheridon_dualmonitor_v1.9.xml
ugh_5druids_magtheridon_dualmonitor_v2.0.BROKEN.xm l
ugh_5druids_magtheridon_dualmonitor_v2.1.xml
etc.

Work in software long enough and you become pathological about backing up config/settings files before making changes. :p

Ugh, thats exactly what Im doing now. I make a change, I save, and rev it.
