So me and the woman have been at it leveling 5 of every class to 80. We are looking at both 5 boxing 10 man raids. Our goal over the next few weeks is to have one of every class, and we are almost halfway. Im looking to pull knowledge from the experienced raiders out there. I just want to know from what control stand points would be most optimal. Please note we probably will rotate positions to practice.
My only issue is who should control what classes:
Do you play it like a 5 man set and tank/heal/dps x2?
Does one person play heals/ranged, heals/tank, dps/tank, or just dps?
Or should she just heal (3 Box), and i control dps and tanks (7 Box)?

Here is a post where they also do 2x 5 boxing. 1 person controls the healers + tank + offspec tank ( if 2 tanks are needed) and the other person controls the dps

I met mine in a 10m HM ICC pug I was leading....been living together two years now...just sayin. Plenty of women on wow. Best thing I did was find someone who could stay up all night gaming without complaining....and let me build a gym in the frontroom.

Psh. I have a wow playing guy but he won't box with me unless its for some achievement he can't get on his own.

Ok so we are deciding on what dps group she should run. Before you start screaming shaman....In that video the guy ran 5 hunters.
So what first "DPS" setup x 5 for raiding should be ran.
I plan on using a Druid MT, DK OT, and a disc. What should i run as my other healers? A shaman and x? or 2 druids? or paladin?
My setup is at 85. The most important is getting her a strong dps setup that does well at low tier gearing. Since we plan on running raids only for the time being.
She will be starting from zero wif RAF, as she only has 2 druids and a paladin/dk. I would prefer a ranged setup since she will be learning.
Thanks

I would NOT attempt hunters as your first raiding group, unless you have tons of experience boxing them in heroics and things. I have a mistrust of pets and they can't offheal or help you at all if things get dicey on the tank/healing half of the raid
Are you dedicated to running disc as your first healer (if so, why?).
My optimal healing trio would probably be an hpal, a resto druid and a holy priest. It's hard to argue with the power of tranq/hymn now that the cooldowns are so low.
Although the stackability of double druid hots would be pretty enticing as well.
If you decide you'd rather have some more boost spriests swap over and offer (generally) better dps than a druid or a shaman so that's what I'd do for my third healer.
for her dps I'd probably run 5 casters. Mages put out good dps even without gear, so I'd probably do 3 arcane mages, a boomkin for the battle rez and an elemental shammy for the spellpower buff/healing rain.
I don't know how committed each of you are to "this is my toon, this is your toon" so it would definitely be helpful to have that hybrid flexibility on one of "her" toons with the druid. There are definitely going to be fights where you will want a little independent movement from the tanks (think thaddius).
edit: possibly swap the boomkin for an spriest... spriests can throw out minor bubbles while staying in shadow form and they do nice dps. I wouldn't do that unless you were sure you wanted to handle all the battle rezzing yourself though.

I'm curious to see how this goes. My wife used to multibox with me, but we never attempted 10 mans. I'd like to get her back into it again :)
