So I got vmware workstation working with all 3 EQ2 clients. I can log in and have the characters follow each other etc.

the vmware ap looks like a tabbed web browser with each client running in a tab.

Can I send keys to the non active, background, tabs like you can to a background window?

I'd like to use hotkeynet.

I don't know anything about VMWare, but EQ2 requires that windows be in the foreground in order to process input.

I am currently multiboxing 2 EQ2 clients with HotKeyNet, so that is possible, but I can't say anything about how any of it will interact with VMWare.

With VMWare, it looks like it completely isolates the EQ2 client so that each client thinks it's running on a different computer.

Doing some more googling, looks like you can use a keyboard multiplexer called synergy.

You can configure any broadcaster that supports networking on the OS you run in vmware just as you would configure a physical 2nd computer over a network.
