Ok so i'm tired of questing so i figured i'de just 5 box and do some cata dungeons to 85. After about two days i was able to get my First Black Rock Caverns clear with only a few wipes. For some info ive been watching videos on youtube to see how other people are doing it. Right now im running 1xdruid tank 1x Resto Shammy, and 3x Ele shaman. To heal i have a video fx repeater region setup and im healing with Vuhdo.
On youtube im seeing videos where it doesnt look like the master is doing anything but tanking, but his helear is still sitting back there throwing around heals to the entire party.
Does anyone know how i can set this up so that my healer will heal and i essentially wouldn't have to do much of anything in terms of controlling him more then i do the dps?
an example of what im talking about;

Thanks for any input.

You use castsequence macros to space out heals so that your healer is neither spamming heals nor letting the tank die. Use hard cooldowns on the healer side to space out the sequences An OHSHIT button that uses the healers big cooldown with one press and the tanks big cooldown with two (using two step macro from isboxer) is also pretty key to this strategy.
I don't have my live shaman macros before me (and waiting until cata dungeons to learn how to heal might have been a pretty scary mistake thats going to take you longer) but something like this for a priest works well
/focus tankyname
/castsequence [@focus] power word:shield, prayer of mending, heal
You put that on your 1 key (or whatever you spam for dps)
will automate a simple heal sequence that takes up about 5 of every 15 seconds. Interrupting that sequence to throw emergency heals is tricky though, that's why it is safest to use a sequence with a hard limit in terms of % of the characters time playing.

I used to do a ghetto fabulous way of healing, by putting a heal macro on the same as my main DPS key with FTL, and the macro simply targets the targettarget, so whoever has aggro gets the basic heals. This was back when multiple commas would increment once per key press, rather than the current way of incrementing past all the commas until it hits a spell. It was nice to have some "passive" healing without having to do anything.
When I leveled priests, I used smite spec and the healing from that got me all the way to 80 level content without ever having to really cast a heal. And I would often be near the top of the DPS charts, while healing.

Also note, that when people record with programs that don't capture the entire desktop, VideoFX windows will not be picked up during recording and while it might look like they're using a castsequence, they might actually be healing via VideoFX.

I use a mixture of castsequences tied to my main dps macro for doing minor healing on the tank, another macro for 4 x Chain heal, and then finally I have VideoFX with HealBot for the tough times.
Basically everything is fine doing nothing but spamming my dps macro. If the slaves stand in something I have chain heals to pick them back up. Since Cata I hardly ever have to make use of click healing using VideoFX and HealBot, but back in WotLK I couldn't get through a dungeon without it.

That's d0z3rr. From the date on that video and his posts, he was using VideoFX and Repeater in ISBoxer for heals, not spam healing. Like MiRai said, you probably can't tell because it's not being picked up by his capture program.

His healer is also a priest, so it looks like a lot of it is smite spamming {Atonement gives damage from Smite a smart heal}. Plus stuff like shields, holy nova, etc makes for a lot of non-targeted healing.
