Introduction :-

Hi :) ok to the point,this video is not strictly multiboxing,but is a testbed as such,and the plan is to add 3 more hunters and maybe a priest..

I like to get to know a class before i play it multiboxing and this is what i have done here..

Along the way i have had 2 revelations and i wanted to share them here..it may not be spectacular to others maybe,but this combination is so fun to play at the minute..

It is really a pet and a bit of an unconventional macro..that's got me loling my head off when playing some time..i will explain below and you can see it in action in the short video.


The Pet:-

I have tried most of the pets,from monkey,wasp,cats,rinos etc and they all have there advantages and disadvantages,i do tend to go for the dps ones more so than the reduce armor etc types..

I must say too that this mainly concerns Beast Mastery..and you need 30 points in that talent tree to use the exotic ability's of the pets...

The pet i'm using at the minute and having the most fun with is..the chimera :)

It has the standard Bite..which does between 4000 - 8000 damage on level 85 test dummies at my level range

It has Frostbreath that does frost and lightning at the same time..and slows enemy for 5 secs

just these are fine on there own...and i probably would have missed the exotic ability if i hadn't looked in more depth at the pet tab

It is called Froststorm breath and it does... a frozen breath attack,mim 3000 to max 10000 plus frostorm damage ( my level 88) every 1.91 sec for 7 .66 secs to all enemies within 12 yards

I know its not a lot of damage but it is an aoe spell and most important it has NO cooldown..it only uses 20 focus and you do not even notice the loss of 20 focus..

So binding it to a key or macro it's spammable and the effect is cool and if your inside the froststorm you cant see anything lol..this alone confuses people..and this wall of blue chasing you down constantly must drive people crazy...i laughed my head of the first time i used it..

and i have yet to see anyone use this in a bg yet in the 4 years or so ive been playing...

I think 3 or 4 of these running at the same time..either on a single target or targetnearest enemy would be mad..

I have had some pvp in alterac valley and we held the choke points..and i kicked myself for not frapsing it..but still i hope you can see why i have so much fun playing like this..

The Macro:-

I have posted here most if not all of the macros i use on my hunter..and you will see them below..

But for now i'll talk about this macro that has become my main kill button,which is a bit unconventional for a hunter macro

I in no way say this will give huge dps etc..it does not but its helped a lot with rogues and most classes,in combination with other macros and single spell casts which i will explain..

The normal macro for hunter can be a combination of arcane and steady shot..typically like below

As you will see on the keyboard layout i use the W,S,A,D for movement..the macro i am talking about is on key 4 and binded to my middle mouse button

This will also require BINDPAD addon to work as it goes past the 255 limit on macros

So a typical attack would go like this..arriving at arathi lumbermill...i hit the buff macro (F)
This will cast beastial wrath,rapidfire etc..then i hit the middle mouse button and this macro runs

Hunter's mark on the target..1 arcane shot will do some damage to get things started,concussive shot will slow the enemy,and then serpent sting adds a dot to tick away..this is ideal for rogues if they haven't vanished already,and will unstealth them..by this time Badbreath is doing his thing and will kill command which normally does a good amount of damage,this take the focus right down,but ,but will drop down to the cobra shot casts or i then switch too my pure arcane castsequence macro (E) until all focus is used and then either go back to the macro above or to a pure steady shot macro (5) to get back some focus..

Added to this of course depends on the class im fighting i'll try to traquilze shot a mage to remove the frost bubble and like wise on a pally and also use widow venom to reduce healing etc

To see it more clearly in action watch the focus bar in the video when i am fighting galv in alterac valley.this uses all the above and the rogue who i find in the water..

Also of course while i am spamming this macro..frostbreath is constantly being used by the chimera

I am also using the kill macro on key (Q) which also has mend pet,kill command etc

For me the combination of the pet and this macro work well together..and it's useful for pesky ( in the nicest way) rogues,druids,its not a do all kill macro and the dps does get me quite high on the counters if you look at the skada counter left side during the video..but its just something differant and proabably just the way i play..

1 First time using sony vegas and i was/did have a footage in the video of my basically explaining what i have put down in written form here,but i am at present full of fluey cold,and my voice isnt that thrilling to listen too at the best of times..so i chose just to show badbreath in action :)

2 I'm not making any leet claims to be a great hunter,in video i twice and i do this sometimes,accidently press disengage when i am pressing keys..good job i have it on short cooldown :P

3 i should disable my walking backward key,i know its faster to run sideways..and i sometimes..fight moving backwards and forwards..even though i don't realize im doing it :)

4 editing wise i could have cut out a couple of seconds here and there..swimming through the water etc..but the last shot..i didnt want to cut because of the tauren coming over the bridge at the end..if cut it might have seemed like a separate attack..
Also if you look at the chat box at one point i had a tell from a fellow hunter.saying how awsome the pet was where did i get it..get that alot in bgs..and i would have zoomed in on the text..if i knew how..

5 i am open to constructive cristism and advice..but plz be gentle with me,i am just having fun,and even though i'm sharing this,i know it won't be evryones cup of tea..

6 also now dreading to come up across 15 chimera's using froststorm breath in a bg..oops :)

At level 84,soon to be 85 with Missrobihood on alliance..but also have my 5 box hunters who have made level 70 + and now have the 5 chimera pets.
Have not yet done any pvp with them,as i need to reconfigure a few things and this is just recent..but hope to do some in the future..for now though here are a couple of pics,with the Froststorm spell running on all 5 :)

I have put my five druids on hold, they are at lvl65 now. Instead, I leveled 4 hunters to lvl60 now, how i missed RAF! Will continue to level them to 85 and add a pally healer to the group and see if PVP is fun or not with them. My pally is lvl85, and i drag her along for healing and rezzing, and of course, the boosting in dungeons!

Hi Saraie,sounds like a plan,myself i am still mainly on Missrobihood and should hit 85 over this weekend.Pvpwise the 80-85 bracket changes things a bit,mainly of course if you go in at 80 in your 70 pvp gear and up against 84 cata geared players..boy...do they hit you hard when you have like 16k and they have (depending on class) 40 - 80 plus k of hp lol.

But i like a challenge and i think if i can beat a higher one than me then i must be doing something right,its all practice :).
I do not tend to blow a gasket when i get beat anyway,well probably a few expletives under my breath :P

Have changed the "Transcatt" macro a little as i added in cobra shot,and also the frostbreath spell as before it was hit and miss if it used it,i tend to run now in foxy aspect only so i can cast on the move..also deterance and masters call can be a life saver,only thing i really could wish for..would be if they did a Spirit Chimera,so i could have spirit mend too lol.

Chimera though in alterac valley when you get those big choke point battles with lots of players..comes into its own..the aoe just damages everyone..and as the "froststorm breath" is just constant,none stop..they dropping all over the place :)and the players are worrying more about the pet than me,and wishing this damn thing with the blue smoke would just leave them alone.

You will probably have a go *5 before i do..i've tended to be more pve mulltiboxing wise..and i'm using pwnboxer,which is ok,but i think i would switch to isboxer so i can switch toons more easily if 1 dies..at present i am the typical non-boxer view of kill the head the rest will die..so :)
Look forward to how you get on with them..

One last thing,not sure how you plan to go,with this whole haste/mastery thing.I know haste helps with getting off more shots,but mastery will help with more pet damage.
I had a look at that mr robot thing and i know pvp wise it tends to go hit-crit-haste-mastery...and optimal looks like reforge most things to hit and crit which i suppose is obvious as you want to do the most damage you can,or to leave some mastery there for some pet damage..i suppose its down to personal preferance

And i have not really had much to do with anything coming up in the new expansion mop..so do not know whats really best for the future..pvp wise..

Anyway..goodluck you,enough of my rambling,must get back to a bit of leveling cu and ty for you comments x !!!

Hehe yes love that you have lol..and great to see them..i know in bgs just with my single player Badbreath..you gets lots of peeps asking wow cool pet.where did you get it etc...2 things i wish for though for chimera's..would be different colour froststorm breath..probably based on the colour of the skin..that would be cool...and 2nd a spirit version of the chimera would be greatl for the spirit mend spell etc..wishful thinking ..but..
Came up against another chimera the other day in a bg too ...was fun to see them go head to head lol..

I didnt screenie it when there was a tonne of people crowded around /dancing and partying in the middle of all the breathes, was really fun!! And of course you get some random jealous kid trying to throw insults /blah!

I love hunters played my main since Vanilla, ditched it a bit through BC and took it back up in wotlk and never looked back. And with MOP coming and point blank range for us, its going to be just amazing boxing hunters in pvp more then ever, so excited about that.

I have always wanted to do a team of hunters for fun/pvp. I've been put off by the negative feedback on the class combo in the past.
Right when I was feeling the urge to play hunters I saw your post, made it easier for me to say 'screw it' and do it! They're only babies (level 30) but i'm already enjoying it. Can't wait to try out the nifty blue flame :P

My four hunters are lvl74-ish now. I have the four chimaera of different color for each of them. Evalcharr, The Razza, Brumenuran or however you spelled it, and Nuramoc. i think after gearing them a bit at lvl80, I will summon them to Zenga's AOE boosting spot in Deepholm. Pally tank, and four hunters with pets clean up the mobs from AFAR, too bad AOE looting will have to wait a bit longer. I cannot stand questing in Cata zones....

Im a hunter fan from vanilla, having x5 is just awesome, I love farming VP norm for mount on x5 hunters, x5 mulit-shots and trash just falls over, infact Im sure I saw packs of them as I got closer go, oh fark no, its those hunters again, run away, run away....... hehehe

How do we macro in, dire beast, lynx rush, gliave toss, crows etc into shots ?
Or we cannot ?

I play survival, to many damn buttons to use, serpent sting, explosive shot, black arrow, cobra, dire beast, lynx rish etc

Does merc 2 step macro work or is it not working now with MOP ? I havent tried it, as Im kinda manually controlling all my hunters using same button set up on all, and its kinda a pain

An attack works like this..

summarized

1.use F buff key spam
2.switch to middle mouse macro,transcatt macro..allow a murder of crows to run a little,and direbeast to cast.
3 switch to e arcane macro..this casts readiness,switch back to buff macro..this resets cooldowns,spam middle mouse
4 then use a combination of the 3..f buff macro spammed will silence,widow venom,concussive
E arcane macro use for arcane shots and to tranquilzie target
transcatt macro to rebuild focus..by then target (pvp) should be about dead )

Macro on key E is also because middle mouse macro does sometimes lock up..still working on this..and it also does some arcane damage and i use it to try tranquilize as much as possible,i hate going up against casters :P

It does work after a fashion,quirky,messy...yes :)..

I'm still only level 88 at the minute,not geared up properly,mix of mop gear and old 85 cata gear.(waiting until i'm 90 to go gear properly

at 90 will add glaive toss into the mix..

But still doing decent damage and top 8 /9 in most bgs..i mainly bg..so this is more pvp orientated

Are you using round robin or something there ? Or can murderous crows be up that long ?

That was interesting, and I will try it same way you have it set up, as BM as I need more PEW PEW on my realm when doing dailies and there is a shit load of them to do, and far to much ally on my realm now and im always getting assaulted with not so good end results anymore.

I'm using 4 hunters and 1 druid, druid is boomie, and I dont even know how to play the retarded thing, so it kinda does nothing at all other then tag along.
Such detailed post there, great effort put into it, I am waiting for queue to go away so I can log in and set up what you have added and see what it will do.

I think this is going to help me out Heaps!!

Yes hehe i love hunters to bits,my favorite class at the minute :)

its not round robin no..its really just the order in which you press the keys thats makes everything happen,

my explanation above i'll explain in steps to make it clearer


1 I press the buff/opening macro which is binded to key F - spam like crazy on this button - this fires off murder of crows,rabid,bestial wrath etc


2 I then change to middle mouse button macro - transcatt macro - which is the an all in 1 macro -does tranquilizing shot,arcane shot,serpent sting etc

normally i keep spamming this until,Dire beast casts then i stop spamming that key ( in the video dire beast casts early,ive been trying allsorts of combinations so it maybe thats its happening faster than i had it before)

3 I then press the key E -which is an arcane/messy macro - but it has Readiness spell in it,this then casts,in the video you see it cast as the green circle on my toon..

4 Because readiness RESETS all cooldowns,like bestial wrath,rapid fire,rabid and also dire beast..even if a dire beast is already

out,I then switch back again to spamming key F the buff macro..which has all those spells and they RESET

And thats the best way i can explain it,as it it is happening quite fast..



I even set up my webcam to show my hand/fingers doing this,but even though i tried all sorts of software etc,i could not get it to record the game and my webcam at same time,

fraps only records the main window,camtasia recorded like i wanted it too but it was slow and jerky video..

The only way would be with streaming xsplit,but im waiting on my broadband provider to up my broadband so i can stream clearer..



Murder of crows i think is on a 30 sec duration ( i need to check ) and i am not sure if it is being reset also by the REadiness spell..

I am tending to go more crit and mastery for pet damage..

even though mrrobot etc..tend to reccomend more haste,i tried it,didnt like it, crit and mastery feels right to me

again its not optimized until you hit level 90 so i will see then,and be working to get full pvp mop gear etc,

cant wait to see what happens when im 90 :P

expertise and hit are a bit low at the minute too..but i will put up with that for a bit,


Like above gear wise at the minute its a bit of a mish mash as i decided pointless to upgrade everything and waste gold ( i have hardly any lol)

Until i hit level 90..


I would imagine 5 of this setup hitting all at once would be pretty devastating on a single enemy or multiple enemys :)

In AV when when we go for Galv..not having the crusader buff..i normally arrive after say 5 or 6 have already started the fight for a good few seconds

and still end up top 3 or 4 in the fight,with the burst that using this way gives..


As hunters we are/ i am sure others would agree quite OP at the minute,for initial burst like this,

For instance STAMPEDE,i read somewhere you get much higher damage from CLAW,double in fact,so they say if you use

5 spirit beasts ( i use 4 spirit beasts and a chimera as i love my chimera BADBREATH for the froststorm breath,aoe spell which is

always casting when i attack),

most likely the nerf hammer will be coming soon :)

I do have my 5 hordey hunters,but i have been more concentrating on leveling the solo one up recently

You have your boomy in your 5,i played a few bgs where a shadow priest was helping me defend flag,and i was tempted

to go 4 hunter and a preist..may do down the line,for the bubbles etc :)

I love hunter rambles and my hunters played em since vanilla.

Im thinking of ditching the stupid useless boomie and adding in a priest or spriest or resto shammy for my x4 hunters... im getting absolutely farken smashed by ally, spriests or melee... as survival thats why I am very interested in hitting up on your way and seeing how it works for me to live and KILL!!! :)

I didnt have time earlier too mess around with it, because I was busy running some heroics and hit raid finder at last on my main and was farming skyshards and motes and all dailies etc

Freaking annoying having all well alot of abilities numbered 1-9 for instances hitting them that way. :(

I can easily put my 4 hunters into pvp gear, crafted for BM and use that as I am roaming the world outside + with your above info should see a massive better result for my pew pewing people down.

I might post up later somewhere else, and ask what people think I should do with my boomie, or how hell I should dps with it, or macros if it has all in 1's etc so it can actually do more then basically nothing lolol.

Ideally I would have went x5 hunters like I did in cata but I ditched one on mop release and added in the boomie cause i was levelling straight off x5 and needed the boomie to herb, made a good 600k+ already and now focusing on gearing, and about to hit bgs as well.

On the blackwater Ah on my realm a ilvl 489 gun has popped up Ive bidded on it and was outbid, so I rebid and pushed it too 50k lol I wantssssssssssssssssss it.

Oh off topic, cause Im in a rambling mood too ahahhah... renamed my guild to something completely IDIOTIC and STUPID for shits n giggles... it's now named "Loaded Diper" rofl!!! just cause... + was thinking how farken funny it will be when for example in /2 typing something like:

Loaded Diper LF2M guild Run or whatever....

As far as my setup is concerned having a problem i can not seem to sort out yet,since posting all the above..as in the video it works great..

on the test dummies,no problem..

Now do about 900 av bg's and it;s playing me up a bit.grrr..

What is happening is..say on galv mini boss...buff macro to open,murder of crows etc..all works as it should...dire beast pops..i then hit the readiness macro

back to the buff macro..resets as it should..another dire beast,rabid,bestial wrath etc..then switch to the middle mouse macro and it runs through..then....

i hit a wall...i can press away at the button,and nothing happens lol...focus bar just fills up..and the macro just does nothing..

i thought it might be the mouse button was about dead or something,but its not that..

It did seem to happen right after stampede popped but ive tried not having stampede in the macro..moving it to another macro..and still it locks up..

so anoying :((...especially as it works seamlessly on the dummies lol..


The only solution i have found is to actually click on a friendly player..then go back and target galv again..then it seems to reset and work again

i even made a macro to target nearest player then target last target...macro does not make it work,,but manuel click on a friendly then back to target does..

such a weird thing.might have to just go back to bear bones on that macro and try again..

toruble is..its a pain that it works on the dummie but live enemy it doesnt..grrr..i have been on it about all day..lol

well at least i am now about 50% to go to 90..lol..and thats from 88 doing only av bgs lol..

anyway..all part of the fun..erm :)

Cool, I was about to switch to BM tonight and go through your macroes and have a play and I completely forgot it is maintenance day........ ARGG!

So tomorrow when realms are back up, I shall get my ass into gear with BM and your macro's.

Im about to spam some forums as I am now looking for a new realm + guild to raid, as I have had it with my realm in how ally ratio has become so bad, its just not worth playing in the world anymore. QQ on that 1 for sure.
