I just thought I would share with you the results of my first run at DM.

in a word? Abject Failure. Yes I know that is 2 words but failure on its own didn't quite convey how badly it went!

Memorable moments?

Wipe on first conjuror - yep the very first elite mob wipes my entire party
Lesson learned? Positioning is very important, specially when mobs AoE

Once I got this sorted and reigned in the gung-ho attitude, the trash was much smoother and gave me no problems. Rhahk'Zor ('http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=644') on the other hand, his adds repeatedly refused to let my Druid live long enough to keep healing my paladin tank, who went down like he was wearing cloth once the druid fell, only by sacrificing my 2nd and 3rd shaman was able to avoid the long run back to Moonbrook

To be fair though, I was attempting it with all 5 at lvl 17 (Pala dinged 18 during the attempt).

Can anyone give me some hints?

my group makeup is in my sig

Hint #1 - Rahk Zor can be pulled without adds.

#2 - in the tunnels pull mobs quite far back so you dont get conjurer's wandering in mid fight - they have set patrol paths so learn where they are and wait for them - nuke them down as fast as you can - if there are other mobs (most likely non-elites) ignore them till the conjurer is dead.

#3 - after you kill each boss/ open a door - a patrol of 2 elites (1 caster 1 melee) will spawn BEHIND you - go back and kill them before you move forward.

You should be able to Kill Rahk Zor (i 4 boxed him with a VW tanking at 17 just pull him without adds) and maybe Sneed at your level - the foundry (with the goblins) & the pirate ship may be a bit tricky before yr main tank and healer are lv 20ish.

Practice, Practice, Practice

Big hint, solo the pally to 20 for the consecrate spell, that will be your add life saver! Found any instance too annoying without it.

Well I tried again and pulled him on his own but at lvl 17 the shammies damage output is just way to low!

I think I have to work on my druid a little, rolling rejuvenation, Regrowth and Healing Touch seemed to work ok but Rhahk'Zor hits like a train. I went from 80% health to <5% in one hit (missed the damage done to me, was to busy trying to Spam LB and keep the tanks health up)

My Paladin has 38.5% damage mitigation from armour 90 defence, maybe I should use Devotion Aura instead of Retribution for that fight

I had 3x searing totems down too... any ideas on how I can get my DPS output up?

Lightning bolt spam, searing totems, sounds about right, druid shouldnt get agro tho, watch agro meters like omen/ktm and you should be fine tbh. Agro should be the main problem

Aggro was fine on the 2nd attempt I think maybe I need better gear on my Paladin cos he doesn't last long enough, even with a fulltime healer. The druid just dinged 18 and got Regrowth(Rank 2) which might help
