I was going to sign up with 4 new accounts to start instance boosting a couple more teams with my 85 Pali tank, but then read this in the FAQ:

Do I always gain triple experience while I am linked to my recruit?
No. In order to receive triple experience, you must be partied with a character on a linked account and within 100 yards of one another. With this, both characters (veteran and recruit) must be present for each kill and quest completion.

Also, should monsters or quests be marked as low level or listed as gray in difficulty for either character, triple experience will not apply.

So the statement in bold makes it look like boosting will no longer work. Has anyone used RaF recently?

That's how it's always been. It just stops people from having their one high level friend boost them by themselves. That's why multiboxers link multiple accounts together to get around that limitation.

Recruit - A > B > C
Linked - A <> B <> C

The link goes both ways. So, while the mob may be gray to Account A, it's not gray to either B or C, and they're linked together.

MiRai has already covered it but...

A > B > C
A > D > E

Let's say A is level 85.
And BCDE are all level 20.

The RAF links from A > B and from A > D, will both be invalid.
Because A is 65 levels above them.

However, B > C and D > E are valid RAF links.
Which means they get RAF experience, even when grouped with A.

It works. I've been using the method Ualaa laid out. On my 3rd team with a druid booster. Takes about 30 hours to go from 11 to 80, purely dungeon boosting. Tack on another hour for 1-11. Could probably do it a little faster, depends how motivated you are.

I level all 5 to 11(11 to get in SFK), then insert an 85 druid for boosting. Auto-run, swipe, and +30% run speed is pretty nice. Cat form until HoL @ 75. I prefer dungeons where I don't have to move at all or only a few times.

Now that I think about it, 11-60 only takes about 10 hours. Slows down a lot after that. 70-75 is no fun. 75-80, HoL is a breeze.

Here is how I go about it.

1-11 quest

11-21ish SFK (Leave toons at the zone in)

21-42 SM Armory + Cath (Leave toons @ zone in, anything before first steps going up to Herod, you get xp. Anything past those steps, pull down for xp. Pull Mograine out to edge of waterfall, kill everyone there for xp. Some places like Scholo might be better after say 35, but I usually just stick it out here. Throw in Library too if you're hitting the instance cap/hr.)

42-48 BRD (So many areas to pick from, great xp. Will have to move your toons a few times, or just tow them)

48-58 LBRS + UBRS (Seriously good xp here. For LBRS, the 1st bridge-overlook area you come to where you see ogres standing on the other overlook to the right, just park your toons there and you'll get full xp for the whole place. UBRS, gotta move the group a few times.)

58-63 Ramparts(leave @ entrance) + Blood Furnace once or twice(on follow)

63-70 Sethekk Halls (On follow until room with first boss, then leave them there)

70-72 Nexus or Utgarde Keep (toons on follow)

72-75 Violet Hold (small instance, but move toons to a corner away from entrance...you'll see what I mean)

75-80 Halls of Lightning (toons on follow)

Don't turn this into another "this is how I boost my characters" thread. We already have a thread (http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/44846-Boosting-experiences) on that.

i still don't understand why people buy 4 whole new accounts. I only buy 2 more, and RAF them to two accounts i already have....that is $120 worth of saving by running 4 and boosting with the 5th.

If you truly want 5 Raf then buy 3 accounts, and mix them with accounts you already have. I have about 30 accounts and only use six of them from all the xpacs. Cheapest way for me is to 4 box them.

I do have one of every class on my boosting (Frost DK) account, and if i don't ill pay 25$ to xfer on to it. Saves you from taking forever to level, and the big purchase burden. Most people will only play one set of toons anyways, and 25 is cheaper than 65 imo, plus you save 30 a month by using accounts you already have.

If you're starting on a new server...
Or have only one account to begin with.

A > B > C
A > D > E

With the booster on "A", makes a lot of sense.

If you have five accounts...
And want to level three more teams, that you missed initially.

Adding two accounts, and going:
A Booster
B > C
D > E

That makes sense.

It all depends on what you want to do.
