AV Weekend, Next Time Around - AV Blitz??

Just kinda curious what you guys are thinking. I didn't see any AV Blitz's this weekend (downing the boss with 4 towers up). How possible will it be in 6 weeks when we get another round of AV?
Enough people geared by then?
Just not even possible?

If you had 4 tanks, how much healing you think is needed?
I am thinking for next round, get my 4dks in blood and tank gear, use my 3 healers, and maybe round up a few more for more heals.

donno. we tried blitz a few times. i had 2 of my dks in tank gear and my prot pally tanking. i was boxing 6 healz with my dps group while poping cds, trinkets, 4x army, 8x elementals and would still wipe. I was able to do with 1 tower burnt and 3 up but 4 for some reason was giving me problems.

is your prot pally trying to tank boss + 4?
do you use your dk tanks to tank the adds and put them in the corner while your pally tanks the main?

as of right now i just have my pally tankin him in the mid. half way through the fight usually the other generals are downed but drek just hits so hard and the wwind always kills my other characters. I think the problem is im running a full melee team. One thing i picked up was taking the strobing off my healers so they would sit back and not get hit at all. but i need to work on this cause i know it can be done. Other thing is im in full pvp gear - the justice point gear. If i got some real tank gear im sure it would be dooable

The RathStrat guys typically do a Blitz 2-3 times a week.

From what they're saying...
You need one very geared tank, or two fairly geared tanks.
So they usually try to queue with 5+ PvE geared tanks, to ensure at least two get in.

Everyone focus fires one of the guys with Vann first (sorry, not sure which one).
And once he's dead, switch to Vann himself.

We don't need an especially large number of healers, for a Blitz.
In a typical RathStrat, we have 6-10 heals and I've seen successful Blitz's with six heals.

Blitz doesn't happen often because it is terrible honor, and not all that fun imo.

It's purely for the achievement, for most.

During AV weekend, you get something for the win.
Just a lot less, than probably any other win.

For each tower up he deals 25% more damage. It's a cumulative buff rather than a linear one: so for 1 tower up he'll do 125% of his normal damage, for 2 towers up he'll do 125%+(25% of 125%), so with 3 towers up he'll deal 196% of his damage, but with 4 towers up 245% and when he pops his cooldown (forgot the name of the spell, where he does increased dmg), that becomes pretty nuts, definitely when you have the adds dealing cleave damage as well if the raid doesn't move out.

For the alli, they need to down the tower point 'officer' first. For the horde its the icewing bunker guy. When either of those two are down, the massive aoe damage to the raid is greatly decreased making the healers job at keeping the tank up to kill Vann or Drek better.

That isn't a blitz. A blitz is killing the boss within a small time frame (generally means that there isn't time to take down towers.)

You get the achievement for winning AV (by any means) in under 6 minutes. The only way is to kill the end boss, as far as I know. It doesn't matter if you kill one of the captains first or not, but I'm sure it makes it easier with one less NPC cleaving the raid.

Tamanxxx is probably referring to killing one of the Generals companions first.
And then the general.
Without downing any towers or bunkers.

And winning, by killing the opposing General, in under six minutes.
Thereby getting the Blitz achievement.

It's been said, but yea, he means killing the warmaster for that tower first when you engage the final boss. As they do most of the aoe dmg.

Blitzes seem to be a lot harder these days, I used to e able to almost solo at 80 and we could 10 man it easy with 2 healers 1 tank.
