I read the horror story posts about this guy, and knew he wouldn't be easy. I read every strat post on these forums that I could find. One of my shammies was already resto specced, I had all the right macros for stoneclaw totems, etc. I went in prepared. And wiped until all my gear was red, twice.

So I decided to try what someone (Fursphere I think?) suggested: buy some greens. There weren't many on the AH, so I was only able to get one character fully geared, one half, and one with two pieces. The other one was still at her puny 6.5K HP with BoK. I spent about 100g and some time setting up itemrack, dropping my blues for 'of the eagle' and 'of stamina' greens.

The difference was unbelievable. One-shotted him without anyone getting below ~40% hp. No tension whatsoever; just an easy kill. So for those of you shying away from this zone; do your bombing run dailies, and spend the proceeds on some green mail gear (make sure it's mail, for the extra armor). It will make a ridiculous difference.

My solution was to load up on PvP armor. Everyone having 12k HP and at least 250 resilience made the fight much easier. Kinda redundant to do though, as by that point anything that drops is just going to get sharded. I also found it helpful to pull him to the South East corner of the room and keep everyone relatively close together so that his aggro dump thunderclap doesn't leave him whipping up on the softies.

I believe that was Vyndree's strat actually. :)

Not really. Someone suggested to me to wear green "of Nature Resistance" stuff and the "of the eagle" / "of stamina" idea flowed from there.

My strat is the "2-man with healer/tank and never go into slabs again" strat. ;) My bank space is precious.

It's not too bad; my Stamina set takes up 7-4-2-1 bag slots on the four girls. I figure it may come in useful in the future. As far as positioning, I ran around behind him (his aggro radius is small) and set everything up behind the door. That prevents his KB from doing much aside from damage, and lets me get a fair amount of DPS in before the first MC.

I hit heroism x4 before the pull, then avenging wrath at 20 seconds left on heroism, and all out until the first MC.

Armory my lvl 70 shamans on durotan (note that I now play on Magtheridon, but the gear is still what I used.), I was doing this guy before I got any of the season 1 pieces it's not that hard if you prep for it.
