howdy sinety and welcome to the forums!

do you have to buy keyclone? well, no. there are a couple of free alternatives. but the trade off is usually setup time and lack of functionality

if you do get keyclone, feel free to drop me a note and i'll do what i can to get you pointed in the right direction.

and yes, i'm not only a keyclone user... i'm the developer too :D

Keyclone doesn't work without a license, you need to either use some of the free alternatives or pay for a license.

Is it really that hard to figure out? Do we need to re-write the guides? I'm curious, it really is not that hard, someone who knows crap about a comp I'm sure can figure things out.

People expect things to be free. I think once he realizes that he has to pay, he'll understand how it works :)

If he did read through "guides and guides" he would know Keyclone has no trial and costs to use, and to be frank OP, no offense, if you can't figure that out, the Free options will absolutely melt your mind because they require you to pretty much "program"(I use the term loosely) them to work.

Really. I'm with Eteocles on the software side.

As for not understanding anything in the guides, that might indicate that you're trying to make multiboxing something it isn't. Don't think of multiboxing as botting. The alts don't play themselves. You have to play everything. The only difference between playing one char and multiboxing is that your alts work off of /follow and /assist. Otherwise, the spells are the same as you'd use solo.

My advice: read more. Go slow. Stop trying to jump in in a day and have it "just work." I've been doing this for 5+ years in WoW and DAoC and it's a bitch to keep things working efficiently. What works in PVP won't really work in PVE and vice versa. What works for a fear-bomb encounter won't work in a mind-control encounter. And those two won't work in a tank-n-spank encounter. There's a LOT to it. You're basically playing an entire group and have to micromanage the entire thing. If you're OK with that and can apply creative problem-solving, you should be fine after some work and experience.

Good luck, but don't expect us to show you how to multibox from the ground up all over again. We've already done that. It's now up to you to find the guides and threads here and apply the knowledge we've so graciously shared. ;)

The above is why I don't intermix classes yet...back when I first started with AHK trying it out it was hell programming AHK's script, thankfully I'm a quick learner and actually try to think and solve the problems then go lookin for help...I referred back to the old posts in this forum a bunch, every day for weeks, and experimented with code layouts till I found out through trial and error how to make all my alts move via WSAD instead of just /following...at which point I also learned firsthand why we use /follow in the first place; no matter how hard I tried I couldn't line the cameras up in such a way that the chars wouldn't diverge paths. I don't even wanna think about Octopus or Synergy and cross-comp work after how tough the "simple" script editing was(and it was sorta, but just for me cuz I excel at modifying existing things like sorn's script to my own ends, it's all simple common sense and copy/paste/edit ;p)

Start easy; roll 2 locks/mages and link 'em up with something free, match their hotkeys and simply press 2 to see if they cast shadowbolt/fireball together or not lol, then step up and learn how follow works and maneuvering is since 95% of the time you won't manually turn the alts, you have to move your main to point them in the right direction. Then you can worry about macros if needed once you master same-class mimicing lol

Octopus doesn't require any code writing at all. For multiple units, you'll need to tell it where they are (unit 1 is left of unit "main", etc.) but once you have that defined and add the "World of Warcraft" to your window watch list, you're pretty much done unless you want to get fancy. Plus, he's written some excellent guides to getting things going from dead stop.

Key Clone Rocks !!! And is well worth the 10 dollars I paid for it. I felt I got my money worth out of it the very 1st night. But yeah multiboxing has a learning curve. You just got to get in there and mess around with it.
