Hey all.
I'm a new multi boxer, I have 5 hunters in World of Warcraft (as my main team), and I'm also a YouTube video maker. I did this intro into Multi Boxing for my subscribers, to let them know what all the fuss is about, I hope that you'll like it, and that I will be welcomed in the wonderful World of Multi Boxing. =)

Welcome, and nice video. :) I wish more newcomers would post videos like this
I like the discussions you went into. It's always interesting to hear different perspectives on things like "automation". Pretty much anything you use on a computer can be described as "automation" at some level, so there's plenty of opinions on it that are completely nuts. "When I press A it presses B that's automation", or "When I press A it presses both A and B that's automation" and so on. Actually pressing anything on your keyboard and something happening on the screen at all is "automation". Isn't abstraction great ;)
The way I explain it in terms of MMORPG gameplay is like this... "automation" is when something happens when you're not directly making it happen (e.g. an "autofire" button on a gamepad where you turn it on and it continues to perform), and a "bot" is something that can automatically respond to things happening (e.g. by sensing low health a bot might know to heal you).
Looking forward to more

I agree, it's nice to see videos like this.
However, after you said in your video that you weren't sure your team was going to make it to 85 before MoP, I noticed that you're only getting rested and group experience. Why did you not take advantage of the Recruit-a-Friend feature? If you chain your accounts together to take advantage of Recruit-a-Friend your entire party gets 300% increased experience from level 1 to level 80.
If you've never played with RaF before then I will say that you're missing out and may want to re-start your team to take advantage of the offer. I see that you are only using Draenei and a Night Elf as your backup Hunters so I'll assume that you've only purchased the base $20 Vanilla/BC game and, if that's the case and you haven't added Wrath and Cata to those game accounts, then I would recommend starting over -- You'll be back to the mid 20's in absolutely no time at all.
If you do start over and your 4 newest accounts are attached to your main's BNet account, you will probably want to strip them of everything, delete the characters, and have Blizzard detach those 4 accounts from your main BNet to make room for 4 new ones. You can only have a max of 8 WoW accounts attached to any BNet, so if you were to actually start over you'd have your main account + 4 old + 4 new and that's one too many. Might as well clear the old ones off the account which will require a call to Blizzard customer service.
EDIT: Upon further investigation... RaF isn't available in your country is it?

Well its a little boring watching you do all the looting, maybe next time save the looting until the very end and turn off the video first. :)
Welcome to the forum. Wonderful post for your very first.

I suggest playing the boring looting part at a faster speed, and slowing down for the interesting parts.

Hey guys.
Thanks for you suggestions, and I agree with the last two responses, looting is a little boring, and in hindsight I probably should have edited out, the aoe loot coming in MoP is gonna be wonderful. ;-)
To MiRai, I do have all the way up to Cata on all the accounts, the reason why I chose a few draenai is because the female draenai are hot. ;-)
But yes, normally the RaF isn't available in Denmark (some stupid marketing laws prevent it), so I have in the past changed my residence to Sweden when using RaF, to get mounts and such. But now, with Diablo 3 out and the real money auction house coming, it's not as easy as changing country any more, so chances are I won’t be able to use the RaF, unfortunately. So I have to do it the old fashion way, by slow grinding.
The nice part is, that I have learned more about how to manage my pets across all characters, and I'm getting close to the magic level of getting Thunder Stomp on my pets, so that will probably help a lot on the levelling part. Besides, it gives me the opportunity to make some videos on the instances and learning more about controlling multiple characters.
I choose to avoid RaF because I believe the game is better than the end-game.
Oh, nice video :)
There is a fairly easy solution to the melee-range issues you are having with your slaves. Make a Mapped Key in your Combat Key Map, called something like "Slaves Back", set the Hotkey to Ctrl-S or Ctrl-DownArrow or something else you can easily press during combat (the best choice will depend on how you normally move your main around), set the Key Combination to "S" and the Target to "Window: All w/o Current". Finally, you will need to set the "Hold any Keystroke Actions while Hotkey is held" to "On" for this Mapped Key as this is a movement key.
Pressing this at the beginning of Combat will cause your slaves to stop following your main and move back. Or you can also use it during combat to move your slaves back from your main. Of course, you will need some easy way to make your slaves follow your main again, the default Hotkey is Alt+F.

Most importantly he has the gift of gab. Most of the other boxing videos lack it. Since he is a baby boxer he could create guides from their perspective. Mebe lax could commission him to make some guides.

Same. I've got a few 85 teams but stacks of levelling teams. Way more fun :)

I love that word, baby boxer... Gave me a good laugh... =)
Anyway, Alge, thanks for the tip to help off with the minimum range thing. Only problem is, I have no idea what your talking about. I know what the end result will be, but the set up is still way to complicated for me. ;-)
Here's the problem. I'm Danish, so English isn't my native language. While my everyday vocabulary is okay, and I don't have to much of an accent in my videos, when it's getting into more technical things like what you described, I get into trouble. I did see some guide videos on the basic set up of my team, like the once on the front page of this site, really good videos by the way. But if there is a video showing a little more about the set up you're talking about, that would help out a lot.
Finally what JB was talking about, I'm not sure I would be the perfect guy to make guides for the new multi boxers, I've always been more of the “try it out, and if I fall down the horse, I'll just get back up again and try again”. My philosophy on videos has always been from the average players point of view, many exceptional people have done things before, I have struggled to do the same, but I finally did it. Hope you understand what I mean.
I had actually thought of making videos pretty soon, but only showing the success stories, where I do end up killing bosses and such. But maybe I should make some more where I do struggle to make it, and then try to show how to do it “correctly”.
To be honest, I was nervous with showing my first video here on the forum, mainly because my downing the bosses in the instance wasn't that pretty, and no doubt you guys could have made a much cleaner kill, but luckily you've been very supportive. So maybe it's about showing potential new baby boxers that it's okay to struggle. ;-)
(As you might have imagined, I love to ramble, both in videos and on text. =p )

I tried to set this up, but I don't really know how to. Do you know if there's a video for how to set something like this up, 'cause I'm guessing I would need to make a new setup, that it's not one of the standard custom made “moves”.

MiRai's next video is on Mapped Keys, or so I am led to believe, but until then there isn't a video that I am aware of...
In the instructions I gave before, everything I capitalised is a part of ISBoxer, and you are going to want to learn those terms eventually. Anyway, until then, the code below can be copied into ISBoxer.
Select all the text in the code box below and copy it to the clipboard (Ctrl+C).
In the top part of ISBoxer, click on the "+" next to "Key Maps".
Under "Key Maps", click on "General".
In the bottom left part of ISBoxer you should see "General" and under it "Mapped Keys".
Right click on "Mapped Keys" and choose "Paste Mapped Key from Clipboard". A new Mapped Key will be created called "Others Back".
From the menu in ISBoxer, choose File, Export All to Inner Space.
Now while you hold down Ctrl+S in WoW your slaves will move backwards.

The Mapped Key Wizard has a "Key Re-map" option you can also use. It has only the options you would care about in order to make a key that can do something like map Ctrl+S to send S in all other windows, including a check box that says you want it to Hold S (instead of just instant-fire) because it's a movement key. :)

Hi Lax,
What would that look like on the keymap itself? Just repeating S several times (how many?) Or an actual 'click and hold' functionality/toggle?

I am Danish as well, though born in the U.S.
Hi Lax,

It does exactly the same as when you hold down any movement key. So, when you hold down "W" (ignoring ISBoxer for now) your character moves forward as long as you keep "W" held down. However, if you press "1" (again ignoring ISBoxer) it will only fire off the ability once, either on key press or key release, depending on how the game is coded (normally release).
The default mode for ISBoxer is to treat all Mapped Keys like a "1", activating on either press or release (or even press and release). However, to enable movement keys to work properly when activated through ISBoxer you need to use the Hold option which gives you the behaviour you expect from movement keys (your character continues to move while the key is held down).
Note: this is not a way to enable auto-fire using ISBoxer and you can't use it to do that because games interpret movement keys differently.
It would be nice to have a video/guide request threadISBoxer Guides and Guide Requests Forum (http://isboxer.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=21)

Btw, I know this isn't the right forum topic to be asking this, but now that I've got your attention.
Are there any teaming up between multi boxers? Maybe two with a 5 man team each doing a 10man raid, or something like that? And if so, where could one find a potential partner for future play?
And if and when skirmishes ever become available cross realm, so there could be some 5v5 against two multi boxers, that could make for some really cool videos.

You can queue for a lot of content, with a Real ID friend.
There are cross-realm pickup stuff, with Real ID too.
If you don't have a lot of investment in a given realm, it can be nice to make toons on a realm with other boxers.
The top boxing guilds are:
- EU, Alliance, Outland Server, Autobots Roll Out
- EU, Horde, Grim'Batol Server, GIMP
- US, Alliance, Kil'jaeden Server, Legion of Boom
- US, Horde, Magtheridon Server, The Zerg/The Protoss/The Terran

A number of us are downing Dragonsoul bosses on Kil'jaeden US Alliance, as Ualaa mentioned. Here's a link to a video of three of us doing Morchok: http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/47272-3-Men-vs-25-Man-Morchok

Nice to meet you, but PLEASE do not associate multiboxing with private servers.
I don't know anyone who does that, and it's not allowed as discussion in this community.
Other than that, video was fine. I'm sure you will make lots more progress soon.
