Hi, I'm new to multi boxing and am leveling 4 shammy's right now (they're at lvl. 25!! woot). I'm leveling them for PVP and already have faced 3 things that make them difficult to manage. If someone can shed some light on best practices that would be great and much appreciated.

1. When meleeing with the enemy (hand to hand) it's really hard to manage the other 3 when the guy goes behind me. Once the other 3 start to attach they face only one direction. I have key bindings set up to rotate them but even still its hard and a lot of times they just sit there. What's the best way to combat melee with your extras when they are moving behind and in front so much?

2. Fear. Fear sucks and its hard to keep track of everyone once feared. I have follow macro and such but when everyone is feared is it best to go round them up or just follow the leader those that can? Can tremor totem be resisted? as i haven't really seen it work for me :/

3. Death. I have tried the PIP keyclone feature before but when the s*** hits the fan and i use it, my pc almost freezes. what are some suggestions for managing the extras at this point.

Any thoughts are appreciated. It's pretty hectic at first playing them in pvp, a lot of times 1 or 2 just end up sitting there like...clones... it's a lot of fun though. i just found out the healing stream stacks >.< ...

thanks!

i've never played shammys but i do have a warrior/pally for melee and a priest/lock/mage...

I have a formation key binded for the casters that makes them stop following, for the melee guys i use a

/follow macro and a /assist macro and turn on the check box in the interface options that makes them auto attack when they assist...If someone gets turned around i just get the position right on my main and hit my /follow macro and /assist macro (they are 2 seperate macros, works better for me) and the pally turns around and starts attacking again...

As far as the rest of it i dunno really, hope that helps with the melee part though.

Most of these issues are just trial and error and you'll figure them out on your way to 70 :)

Tremor Totem is amazing, and if you space them out your almost unfearable.
You need to have the ability to turn all of your characters at the same time, or just turn the main, or just turn the followers. That way if they try to dodge in and out of you, you'll still blast them. (takes lots of time and practice of course)
Shamans also don't come into their own of being very strong until you get the gear to match it, which is usually 60+ when you hit the Outlands.

Do you find its easier to have the alts all setup on the same rotation keys and leave the main seperate? Or have them all bound to the same rotation keys? I am thinking it would be better if the alts all had the rotation keys bound to my arrow left and right buttons. Then keep the main unbound. I can always move my main but if a melee or someone is trying to get behind me or my guys it would be nice to rotate the alts while they cast.

Just thought I'd add my two cents in.

Everyone has already given you great advice, I'm currently levelling 3 Shamans at the moment and I have two elemental and one enhance (my main), when I'm about to attack something, I use a macro to make the casters stop a little bit behind my main so that I can go and get the mob and keep it infront of the casters. Even if they take aggro (which happens all the time) the mob runs to the front of them and they can continue casting, also in pvp it means that not all 3 can be feared as they are too far away.

3x Tremor totem is a god-send also, if they do managed to get feared, it'll only be for a second maybe, maybe not even so, you can quickly hit your follow key and stop key to make them face the same direction and continue on with the onslaught.

Of course I'm still working it out myself, with being only level 47 at the moment, but in all the PVP I've come across this has been the best tactic by far.
