Hi everyone, I used to do multiboxing with 4 locks + 1 priest back in BC and I decided to come back to test the new scroll of resurrection ahhaha.

Anyways, the first thing I noticed is the awful timing to comeback and the low activity on the forum :(.

Back on topic: I'm planning to run 2 Arcane Mage / 1 X Resto shaman / 1 X ele shaman / Feral Tank. This is a pure PvE team.

The question I have is : Which one would be your main? I was thinking of the tank but then I said : Nah, tank is easy peasy and can't see shit of what is happening during the fight.

So I will probably go with the healer as main since it will be easier to position my team / avoid AOE / better healing.

How does that sound? I would like to have your feedbacks on the matter.

Thanks.

i kinda drive what i feel most comfortable really. Cata heroics are hard. if i need to move alot i will drive a dps. If its trash i just drive the tank, easier/faster to pull crap with the tank.

my 2 cents

I always drive with my tank as he needs to move a lot as well, with my team right behind him, so they strafe the same way. Only time I don't is when the tank isn't needed or doesn't need to move

Yeah, I've lol some Cata in Heroics/Raids last year and it is definitely more violent. I used to play tank or Heal, so I feel comfortable with either.

It's just that from a healer perspective, I will feel more like a "commander" (CC that shit, move there, dps this one, etc etc) as with the tank, I know from my experience, you don't necessary know what is happening in the back court hahah.

But yeah, I will see how it ends up, still have all the setup to do -_-.

There is another thread here about this topic

http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/46348-What-toon-do-you-drive-from-and-why?highlight=toon+drive

If you can't see around you while driving from the tank then consider adjusting your camera.

The general concensus is drive from healer pvp, and drive from the tank pve

Which software are you using to box with?

Just asking because, for example... with IS Boxer...
You can set up Repeater Region based healing, such that driving any toon is as good healing as driving the healer.
Essentially you one of: a) Healbot; b) Vuhdo; or c) Grid + GridCustomLayouts + Clique.
I use this Grid setup: http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/45580-DK-Team-FINALLY-at-85-and-cruising-through-AV-weekend-%29?p=347870#post347870

You can imbed your IWT into your DPS keys, and have a toggle to enable/disable the IWT.
That way, your melee will stay on target even if you're not driving that toon/those toons.

Melee has the disadvantage of eating cleave/pb-aoe effects, but can be advantageous at times too.
If facing/positioning is not critical for a stage or an entire fight, you can drive with someone else.

Between the two, you can move the tank/melee to the boss without driving from that toon.
And reposition, should the boss move away.
You can also heal, without being on the healer at all.
And with IS Boxer, you can instantly swap from one window to another (just don't use auto follow on character switch).
So if you need to move the boss, then drive the tank... then switch back to another toon with a better view... etc...

Thanks, I had not seen this topic about who we should drive from.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more it would make sense to control the tank. But on the other hand, IWT is a pretty convenient tool =/. Anyway, thanks a lot for your inputs and I will go read the other thread.

I use ISBoxer, still on trial and trying to figure it out. I'm not very good at configuring it even though it's easy ahah.

As you can see in this video Nolife is driving from the tank. With his non standard camera config he can still see all around him and micro move his slaves.
