View Full Version : Alt + Tab Headache

I'm using keyclone, dual-boxing on one Windows XP computer. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced the following problem and if there's a known solution? I've tried searching for the forums and haven't seen anything similar discussed:

When I have to alt+tab over to my alt a few times during a gaming session, eventually she doesn't "follow" very well. Back in the main toon's window, once the alt is on follow again she'll lag/bug out. She runs so far behind me that she looses follow often. When she does keep up, it shows her running up to me, suddenly appearing again 30 feet behind my main, running up again, repeat 3-4 times.

So far my best solution is to try not to alt+tab very often, using macros for accepting quests, not training every 2 levels (waiting for important skill ups only to go to town for that), ect. Drives me nuts though, because sometimes you can't share quests, and have to switch windows or when I'm doing a drop quest, ect.

Any suggestions?

Why not just try hitting the Taskbar instead of alt tab?

What are your computer specs?

I suggest playing in windowed mode.

Try to use Maximizer in Keyclone, that will make it easyer for u to see all windows @once = u dont have to alt+tab, just click on the "alt" window. If u dont have 2+ screens or a Big main screen that could destroy ur gaming experience cause of smal wow windows. But well give it a shot ^^ hope it helps :) The lagg can ither bee ur internet connection or ur computer specc. Not much u can do about it exept upgrading ur internet / Computer or change ur graphic in wow for less lagg. :)

Well, I've got maximizer working, easy to set up! Few little issues with the split screen though. While I was able to maximize the scale setting for my bongos and unit frames many parts of the game are hard to read. I've got the chat font at max and that's good, but reading quests makes me cross-eyed. This seems to have fixed my lag issues though, so I'm happy with it.

On a side note, I tried recording a little clip with FRAPS to show how I have it set up, but it seemed to only have recorded one half of the screen, lol.

(currently surviving on my laptop, will be upgrading to a sweet system soon as Uncle Sam pays me my refund $$$)

I assume u have UI Scale on 1.0, and yah a laptop ussualy comes with smal screens, u just have to live with it, on the fraps note, fraps can only record one WoW window @ the time. Do u mean that ur fraps only record 50% of your main wow window?

I'm using maximizer to have both screens up at the same time now. Working good, here's what it looks like. Just can't FRAPS it.

Just saying I can't fraps both at once, it was just a side note really, not a big deal. But I have seen videos other people have made showing both screens at once. Just curious what program they are using, cause Fraps can't do it.

hmm, that i dont know, ive always used fraps, but trust me, a movie where u see more than one window can be kinda disturbing for the viewer sins he dont know where to look ^^

Agreed. Besides I'm not dual-boxing with my main yet, so not like anything I can do at low level is cinema worthy ;)
