So I have been looking at the MoP info that is being released and I just can't get excited about it.
I have been playing WoW since the original beta. I was excited when BC came out because I got to kill Illidan.
I was excited for Wrath because the entire reason I started playing this game was to kill Arthas. (I was an avid player of WCIII and Frozen throne)
I saw Deathwing being the last boss of Cata and thought ya he deserves to die. (I have read every WOW book published and all the lore online ( embarassing I know)).
Now we have panda's. I played the Rexxar quest in WCIII and I found the secret panda. I just don't see why Blizzard took this route. The game play is getting a huge revamp but I just can't see any reason to keep playing this game when in MoP there is no end boss that I want to kill and I have already achieved gladiator and High Warlord status.
What is your reason for sticking around for MoP?

Pandas were suppose to be in the original wow game.
My reasoning to stick around for MoP?
Dks: purge, aoe stun, lots of damage, better survivability
Paladins: complete revamp, boxable again
Shaman: actually won't suck
Ferals: 30 second shadow dance
Hunters: now better for boxing

What is your reason for sticking around for MoP?
The combat system and the high end raiding experience. No other game that I'm aware off offers a similar raiding experience. That's why I stick around.

I've always been in it for the tears. Seems like no other MMO contains this high of percentage of QQers than WoW.
Just standing in the auction house with my DK team generates QQ and Rage, I love it.

MoP Beta will be the deciding factor whether I either continue to 10 box or shrink the amount of accounts I own, or whether I actually box at all...

^^While I have never been a huge boxer, the beta will decide to what degree I hop into the game. I am getting tired of MMO's in general, and I hope the MoP and Tera can reinvigorate my love of them. Diablo3 on the horizon may get me out of the MMO grind long enough to appreciate MoP more when if finally drops, we shall see. To answer your question, the people. MiRai, SvpernovaTransylvania6-5-Over9000 and Vecter keep me plenty entertained and interested. Muffinman and his adventures are fun to hear about too. I play for the social factor... and the internet dragons.

Because I still find WoW fun?

What is your reason for sticking around for MoP?
Because I don't know if MoP sucks yet, I love multiboxing and WoW is still the most fun game out there to multibox. I'm cautiously excited that it won't suck.

If you're getting tired of mmo's in general, do you really think one expansion is going to rekindle your love?
Sometimes love needs a break.

Hence the break I'm taking now. Not by choice lol, but a break none the less. And yeah one expansion can rekindle it, its got POKEMON DAMN IT! lol.

I go through phases of liking the game and needing a break from it.
But when I feel like boxing, it is easily the best game out there.
The expansion looks to be good to me, there is a lot to be excited about.
There is no guarantee it will pan out, but there will be a lot of new content to experience.
I think it's worth trying, and frankly think it will be a ton of fun.
The style gets back to classic Everquest or classic Warcraft.
When the games were brand new, they were very good.
I think this will be similar.
When the game was new, it was quite fun; and that is something they're trying to get back to.
There is no super big boss to take out...
But there is the magic of exploring, with a lot of neat features for a ton of classes.
Definitely a lot of potential, for a lot of teams.
Even if it doesn't turn out to be that great of an expansion, the sheer size of it...
It will take a long time to discover that.
If you need a break, take one.

True, but with some good (new) reasons: i.e. how the missing of a big asshole boss will play out this xpac.
What is your reason for sticking around for MoP?
I seem to share your sentiment about this subject.
Im playing for a few reasons.
SWToR game client requires so much power to operate. Im tired of a high powered system lagging. Back to WoW. There I can box with ease, and enjoy. Even if its over familiar. I personally dont mind leveling a new toon from 1 to 85... or 5 of them for that matter. Despite the lame ass pandas, I will likely keep playing. I didnt like the Squid-people but I still got BC... and I killed every Dranei I saw. I did the same for every "Jacob" named werewolf toon, and I will do so again for every "Po" Panda I see.
5 box griefing to max.
In my eyes, the game has been beaten. Now its just about what entertains me.

I am sticking with WoW because I am not really that good at multiboxing as of yet. With practice I am getting to the point where I can reliably do most of the standard Cata dungeons, but it's a work in progress. Although I am slow and terribad, it still gives me a sense of accomplishment to be able to grind my way through the content.
I love the Monk class addition, and I can honestly say I am looking forward to doing another RAF with a Panda Monk team.

Basically what this guy said...
http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/792/feature/6232/World-of-Warcraft-Mists-of-Pandaria-The-Pandaren-Starter-Area.html
WoW has branched off in a lot of directions the past few years, we've even been to outlandish planets in space. This sounds like we're going back to trudging along in a new environment like we used to. Will it feel the same as back then? Probably not, but we'll sure look better while doing it...
I can't wait to play D3, MoP, SC II HotS... Fuck Blizzard for making the best and most addicting franchises.

The original post seemed to state that the lore around the end boss is why he plays and is clearly a lot more into lore than I am. If that is the only reason you play it may be a dissapointment, but I don't get that much out of the lore personally. There will still be an end boss that is harder to kill then all his minions and it will take our raid team a good bit of effort to take him out. There is going to be a new class to level and 5boxing it looks like it will be fun. There is a lot of new lore around Blizz's take on asian culture(s) which will also be new. I've also found it tough to gear up all my toons at max level and scenarios may make this a bit easier, assuming we can box some or all of them. I've been able to box some dungeon's but only with my mixed class teams and they aren't as efficient as the same class teams, but same class teams don't work in dungeon's.
The things I like around raiding will be there, a new class to level and some potential options for additional game play make up some of my reasons to stay and play.

because there is absolutely, none whatsoever, lore around Garrosh... none!
Not debating the lack of lore around endgame boss. Just not following that lack of endgame boss lore as being the reason not to play. To panda or not as it was put seems narrow. Am I missing something not being into lore or not being on a RP realm? Please educate the endgame boss lore illiterate in me why this is so important to not play if it doesn't exist. Are there alternatives that are doing it better? SWTOR's Darth Malgus seemed a bit missing from end game content, though I haven't played many others to know if other MMO's do this as WOW has done in the past.

The lore around Garrosh is very limited. Blizzard kinda threw him in as almost and after thought. I am all for having Garrosh be the final boss in MoP but lets face it the alliance kill him pretty regularly as it is, and It makes no sense at all to have him be a final end boss for the alliance.
King Varian Wrynn and his absolute hatred for the horde should not care if an incompetant leader is warcheif of the horde. He should in fact be trying to stop him from being deposed. It benifits the alliance much more to have an idiot leading the horde then someone competant like Thrall.
Garrosh's lore resides mainly in cataclysm while that is understandable it really lacks depth. I get he is Grom's desendant and he was picked by Thrall because of that. He lacks any real claim to being warcheif and since his inception has done nothing but bring the horde down. Exiled Vol'jin, Killed Cairne, Alienated Baine and Jaina (while human is a very staunch horde supporter) and embarrased Sylvanas (play the leveling area for undead again).
The reason I am not on an RP server is because there are none with many boxers on them. I do arena for fun on the side as well and my partners that I have played for 5 seasons with are both on this server.
I truly didn't expect this many responses it was just a mere question of why other people were sticking around. I am still on the wall for whether I'll play MoP or not but that is my reasoning behind my statements.

If Blizzard decides on a given NPC as the final raid boss, or whatever...
It doesn't really matter to me if there is a lot of lore now or if there's little lore now.
Blizzard can make the lore as it goes along, and develop the story.
After all, all the lore for everything previous including every other game by Blizzard was at one point non-existent and developed into what we have now.
Not everyone necessarily likes every title, but Blizzard is a front runner for game of the year, for every game and every expansion to those games ever released.
Chances are, there will be a decent amount of lore to discover as the expansion moves along.
The raids will present a challenge, and eventually get nerfed down to where almost everyone can do them.
Etc...

Depends if that incompetent warchief continues his warcrimes!! Garrosh is bloodthirtsy, but we are only Alliance schoolboys so we are going to just roll over and let him keep claiming territories...NOT. I'm betting he will continue to commit atrocities in this expansion and will have to be removed, for everyone's sake.
And his lore starts in BC, through wotlk, stampedes cata and extends into MoP.
